Civfanatics problems

I got my daily Arts & Entertainment notification last night, but none of the others (OT, Site Feedback, History, etc.). I've been diligent in TRYING to "teach" Gmail that CFC emails are not spam.

Gmail customer service is a joke. It's done by volunteers who might or might not actually know what they're talking about. You can never talk to anyone who is actually from the company's official customer service department.

Ok, now my email notifications telling me of new PM's are arriving 3 to 5 days late. But I dunno if it's because of yahoo screwing up again or if it's a CFC issue.

See thread on this topic in this forum.

I've been having this problem for a while and just looked for/found that thread today.

If I understood correctly,
CFC has been turning the emails off and on as they work to resolve a spam hijacking.

For the last few hours Civfanatics pages are unable to finish loading because they are waiting for a site called organiclube.com.

Huh?????

As I type, this page is "Transferring data from choices.truste.com". The page has been effectively loaded for 3 minutes, but the completion of loading is seldom acknowledged, and when it is it is delayed, for one of the above two reasons..

Probably doesn't load finishing, because that side is flagged as "attacking site". Guess you're using a browser which uses google safe browsing (FF or Chrome), which prevents that stuff from that site gets loaded.

Personally: Don't get that here.
I've just activated all the javascript crap, and don't get any code from that side (browsing for a bit now).
-> I'd guess it might be more personalized ads, which are provided by one of the ad companies (which might not intentionally load malicious things).

It's gone now anyhoo.:goodjob: Are you sure you didn't fix it? :D

Can't ^^, don't have any powers at this website.
But you (and everyone else who's reading this) should pay attention if it happens again.
The most likely case is that, in case it were really ads, the adsupplier already pulled it from their ad list.
In case it were not hte ads, then it might be something here at the website, which is dynamically loaded and doesn't appear always. Therefore it's important to know if it appears for someone else.

The last case is that you have some malware locally (or in the browser, malicious addon, or so). If you don't have an antivirus installed, then you should definitely do it now and report back if that showed anything on your machine.

Is there some way to keep this site from making me log in twice when I want to post something, and eating my post when it makes me log in the second time to attach a file?

I am finding at time that civfanatics doesn't even load (cannot connect to the website is the error I get) and after a few tries it eventually works, but that normally doesn't happen. It has only been the past few days were I have had trouble getting into this webiste and at the same time every other website I can browse like normal.
