(Civil Wonders) Prague Castle, Burj al Arab etc.

Oh, I was thinking of using it as a "forbidden palace" for those civs who used to rely on Soviet weapon transfers to stay in the saddle (modern/future era then of course). :mischief:

Hi Hrocland,
if and when you have time, could you make a Babel Tower?
It's really incredible that Civ4 has came out without such wonder

Whoah whoah whoah..... this is NOT my batman cup!!!

I also need this building very much. And am willing to help you make it/give you ideas to see it done. I need it to use as a Mesopotamian Shrine for my new mod.

Thanks a lot, hroch. :D

It's a bit high-poly, so I'll definitely need to use it as a rare building.

I have a low poly version too. Can send you. I want good model for you :)

Send my picture. No problem :)

It's really matter of taste.
If you wish a picture I might choice this:

But if you search "Babel Tower" with google images you will find LOTS of pictures.
Today nobody can say how babel tower really was, thus you may choice whatever you prefer to better express your art ability

I imagine a 2x2 tiles tower, higher than other ancient wonders

The tower of Babel is said to have been based on a Ziggurat in Babylon, either the Temple of Ishtar or the Etemenanki. Here is an artists rendering of the Tower of Babel that is probably the most accurate compared to others I have seen online:

Spoiler :
TowerofBabel.jpg

A lot of artists depict it as more of a spiral minaret, but this is an anachronism so if you were to make it I would avoid doing this as much as possible. Here are some other good images of ziggurats though.

So that is the direction I would go in for that. :goodjob:

With all due respect Ambrox, and believe me, I have a lot for you, that picture is a terrible anachronism. That is based on Islamic structures of the time, not on actual buildings from Mesopotamia.

Yes, I agree.
Effectively a Babel Tower which resembles a higher developement of a squared ziggurat sounds better than a arabian spiral tower

Please sent it. Anything that decreases the size of CC is a must.

Btw, there's a little excess on your latest model. The swimming pool has a textureless structure on top of the building.
Easy to remove in NifSkope, but I thought you might want to know.

I just had an idea, see the first image I posted (in the spoiler) with the clouds around the top of the building? Is there any way to recreate that effect? I think that'd be cool.

Actually is there any way to convert THIS
to work in-game?

And THIS ONE so I can use it as a Monastery or cathedral something like that.

Or THIS ONE even.

:goodjob:

EDIT: Sorry, and MAYBE THIS ONE. I am adding a Mesopotamian religion to my mod which is why I need all of these.

if you download google sketch pad you export those files as obj IIRC and then import into blender. I think I did it on a few buildings, but a long time ago.

@The Capo: there is a way. When looking at it last time, I've seen that Blender supports importing collada files (so you need to download the modell in that format). I didn't need to install anything extra to have that option. Actually, you could then directly export it to nif with a little luck. That's what I've done the last weeks: converting files from google warehouse to nif. The only problem doing it like I said, is the texture. It can work, but the result is... 'unhandy'. There is a tutorial written by Refar (see tutorial section), but it's based on max. Still, it might be wort to take a look at it to get the major idea. He mentions that everything can be done with Blender, too, although the workflow is different.
Also, google warehouse modells are usually high-poly. You might need need to tweak on that.

Well, I haven't had time to get Blender to work yet, and I have to get my mod's next playtest ready to go in a few days so I don't really have time, which is why I asked Hroch' to do it. But if nobody can I suppose I can give it a go at some point.

Hmmm... if I'd have time, I'd take one of your requests. But I've my own conversion projects plus reallife stress. Plus my brother, who's actually working in London, visits me next week. So I don't see I could take time for that now. But if hrochland can't do it till then, and I can imagine that he's busy as well, then I might come back to it.

@ The Capo
Yes. Models as are your pics are in a number mods here on CF.
I will try make on your first pic so that look not as spiral minaret :)
