I liked the Cree, Maori and Zulu themes in Civ6 too. I guess you don't like the sound of gamelan and other high pitched Southeast Asian instruments then.
Maybe, out of the SEA civs in 6, I liked Vietnam's theme, but that sounded like it used quite a different set of instruments to Indonesia or Khmer. It wouldn't surprise me if it's just a specific musical style I don't gel with.

Just got the opportunity to listen to this one, and wow... I haven't jived with the Modern themes so far, but this one is one of my favorites in the game! I'm not too fond of the orchestration, but that seems to be the standard for the Age, so what'll ya do?
Loving Siam too. The Modern Age civ themes are so much better than their Exploration/Antiquity counterparts. Really the only one in Modern I'm still neutral on is France, the rest of them have been really good for me!
I've noticed that the music playing during the "Wonder movies" is basically the theme of the associated Civ. The Great Stele's music was Aksum's theme. The Colosseum's music was Rome's theme. The Oracle's theme is Greece's theme etc.
Dur-Sharrukin and Emile Bell have new unfamiliar music, will these be the actual themes for the Assyrians and Shilla?
I actually really liked the melody for Dur-Shurrukin, so I'm probably gonna love the Assyrian theme in Civ7.
Now that music is tied to a single age, I’m really going to miss the evolving themes from VI. Progressing from the quiet drums at the start of the game to the sweeping, bombastic themes in the late game (shoutout Russia) was a lot of fun.
They could do something similar to what Civ 6 did with city states that became cities in DLC civs where both wonders become associated wonders of their respective civs and are then replaced with a different wonder.
