I liked Live Gloriously when it was first released but as I've watched more and more previews, it has really grown on me. Works well as the "setup" / menu music imo, makes me want to jump right into a game. Been singing it all week!

Was kind of hoping to get something along the lines of Preußens Gloria - one of the most fun, jaunty anthems I can think of. This is just kinda... there. Maybe I'm missing a connection to some other musical piece.
I was expecting either Preußens Gloria or standard Baroque music. I would have liked either. Instead, we get something that would pass as being ambient music in a 60s Hollywood movie about Rome.
Some commenter on YouTube speculated that the theme may be based on a BALTIC Prussian folk song. This reminds me of Rizzo going for Sundanese melody in a theme for the Majapahit.

It seems to be that way as the melody (especially in the first half) is virtually the exact same which is an interesting choice to say the least. And likely explains why it doesn’t sound like music of modern Prussia. If anything one of their marches would’ve fit better.
Rizzo made Majapahit’s theme also sound far too Western as well which is also quite odd.
Here's to hope the Bulgarian theme has some Orthodox chants, like the Byzantine themes do in the previous games .
I'm also curious about the Qajar theme. Combination of Persian and Western instruments can sound delightful (as an example, I like to relisten to this piece from time to time), so I hope I'll be pleasantly surprised. Bonus points if the accompanying art shows some pretty Qajar architecture, preferably with stained glass .

That's definitely one of the inspirations for the theme. I wonder if Rizzo confused the later German Prussia with the more earlier Baltic Prussia.....arguably this music would have fit Lithuania better. This reminds me of Geoff Knorr picking two Slavic Macedonian songs for Macedon's themes in Civ6.
I'm having trouble hearing the anthem in Buganda's theme. I think there might be another musical inspiration.
I'm definitely looking forward to the upcoming DLC Civs' themes. All of them really, Great Britain, Bulgaria, Carthage, Nepal, Assyria, Dai Viet, Qajar, and Silla.

To play Devil’s Advocate, the Baltic Prussian language was still spoken in parts of Prussia until the 18th century as a minority language and many Prussians were partially descended from the Baltic Prussians. However without a doubt Prussia’s theme would better fit Lithuania (especially given how calm it feels compared to typical Prussian marches)
It seems to be largely subtle but it does seem to partly be in Buganda’s theme, I do agree that there is most likely another musical inspiration. However, I’m still struggling to find it. (the absence of lyrics doesn’t help much either)
I'm personally happy to hear there is at least some Baltic influence in Prussia - even if it's in music. I was quite disappointed seeing Prussia was just Germany with a different name.

I would agree, although I even liked more of his compositions there, they had more identity. Like I can definitely feel different orchestrations and vibes between Canada, Hungary, and the Mapuche.
Here, it's just kind of blurring together so far. Maybe that's intended for certain civ pathways, iunno.
I think the issue with Rizzo’s compositions is that at times they lack authenticity (such as Russia’s theme containing Hymn to Red October or the Majapahit theme as a whole) or are a bit too repetitive (looking at you Normans and Prussia)
Knorr’s compositions are mostly more authentic and less repetitive whilst keeping as strongly as possible to the source material.
