Civilization VII - Gameplay Trailer/Showcase - Civilizations & Leaders Shown

-A pic above, Asian Djong, and Whitemen Carracks... THIS TIME MAKE IT RIGHT! IT IS CARRACK NOT CARAVEL! @raen knows this.
- A pic below of the Industrail era colonial warfare, Fxis seems to fond of Napoleonic military uniform alot. while @Boris Gudenuf kun always fond of Enlightenment Era military uniform of 18th Century with fallcollar overcoat, cravats and tricornes over this one.
mm maybe this was when the World began to adopt more 'uniform' military uniforms rather than racial diversed ones.
also MAKE IT RIGHT THIS TIME. they are FUSILIERS, not LINEAR INFANTRY nor RIFLEMEN.

How many civilizations per era do you think we will have in the base game? I think eight is a good number to start with.

8 or 10. no more.
in first DLC.
"Annam - Siam Yuth" (War between Siamese Empire of Rattanakosin under King Rama III VS Dai Viet Empire under Emperor Min Mang for eastern suzerans. for Siam it is also Patriotic War since there's a potential of invasion that could reach the capitol, at that time Siam was only a few generation away from the Fall of Ayutthaya and they can't lose another Seat or they'll done).

I’m going to go big and guess there’s actually way more. Buganda, Aksum, and Hausa are pretty impressive to be including in base game if some of the more popular and well known civ inclusions aren’t also in the game yet

Do leaders do anything in this game? Or all the flavor is tied to the Civs themselves?
Leaders seem to have traits, which can be enhanced with a leader trait tree. For example, I think Hatshepsut was Economic and Cultural.

And this affects players choice, changing leader later on means giving up all previous traits accumulated so far.
riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight?

No, you keep the leader all game. It's the civ that will change.

good. now no more Cleo.

I think she might have a chance to show up in the future leading an Hellenistic civilization actually. I don’t know if all wonders are tied to civilizations, but the Ptolomies have two classics, the Great Library and The Lighthouse of Pharos.

Plus she was Civ6 pet. No need to hate her, especially if she is separate from Egypt

Oh i understand. Many thanks

Note for the discussion of numbers of Civs that the Resource Sink of animated Leaders is now almost completely divorced from the number of Civs.

IF Leaders don't change (but their attributes can) then the game only needs 1/3 as many Leaders as it has Civs, because each Leader stays in charge through three Ages and a different Civ in each Age.

That means, assuming the same initial commitment of resources, whereas Civ VI had 18 Civs to start, with a Leader each, Civ VII could have 54 Civs to start with 18 Leaders, and only a very minimal extra outlay for the Civs that don't require an animated voice-acted Leader for each.

Kinda makes all the speculaltion about what Civs would be in Civ VII much too conservative . . .

54 seems too much, and there would be little left to explore for expansions. Considering that in previous Civs, larger maps allowed 12 players as the standard, we might expect this number per era. So, 36 is a more realistic number, imo.

Disagree with the idea that there would be little to explore. They’re trying to promote the notion that you can have direct paths from civ to direct successor civ, which means by nature lesser known civs are going to get highlighted. Buganda wouldn’t have likely been in the top 50 civs most likely to get a civ 6 civ, and now it’s a base game civ, same with the Hausa.

I dont think the gap will be that huge at launch, but we shall see. If they keep roughly a 2:1 ratio and do as many leaders for Civ7 as they did for 6, we could end up with 100 civilizations by the end of the game development

You have a point, but it's still possible that the big names from Africa, like Mali, the Zulus, and Ethiopia, might have been reserved for expansions, as they are more marketable.
