Bad odours have begun wafting into Canberra. Experts say it is the smell of dirty Japanese warriors who havent bathed in weeks. As a result, it is advised that the people of Melbourne, Canberra and to a lesser extent Tenotchitlan stay indoors, to avoid the stink of the dirty Japanese (who have been reported eating Mongolian bodies).

... our long-range warrior/scout got the wrong memo and on his own initiative has absconded w/ Yybor's worker. I swear to god the fax said "we're declaring war on Whomp." Apparently, he was fed up being stuck in a culture trap, so he's trying to marry local and bring her home to the parents.

Apparently they're headed to Vegas.

The CUA apologies for this snafu. Simply let the said warrior and his new bride return to CUA territory and I promise that justice will be meted out.

I'm feeling generous, so if I encounter the said warrior I'll destroy him so you don't have to go through the hastle of military tribunal etc.

Translation: Igloo popped another axeman in Igloopolis, and I'm not suicidal.

We await the plea for peace from your ivory tower academia pansies. If we're feeling generous and/or have been partying too hard, we might settle for your third city rather than your second and third cities.

This is assuming the road to New Raisinville doesn't get paved with HOMBT axeman skulls in the meantime (since it apparently is going to need some maintenance anyway)...

And on an utterly unrelated note, I'm going to be updating the civstats uploader today, and doing whatever troubleshooting is required to permanently fix it. Apologies in advance for any downtime of the game's civstats display, and possibly of the game itself (I'll have saves before I take the game down at any point, so no turns lost, and downtimes should be under 15min).

http://www.civstats.com/viewgame.php?gameid=89 is the new iteration of the CivStats.com CivIVor display. The old one (gameid=20) no longer works. Please go to that page and (if you haven't already done so) log in to the www.civstats.com site, and then go to the CivIVor page (link above) and you should see red text at the top saying "Register your leader" or somesuch. Click on that, choose your own name from the dropdown, and your admin-assigned password is (still) ha.

If anyone has any difficulties please let me know.

Did you read my posts? I checked w/ other players to make sure this was kosher. Just how many turns am I supposed to go w/out being able to consider you an opponent? 20? 1000? Never?

For what it's worth, Shane checked with me privately (I thought as game admin, not LAoD member though) before attacking, and I told him it didn't violate the letter or spirit of any rules we had in place. To be blunt, unspoken agreements here aren't worth the paper they're not printed on.

That's not going to stop me (as a player) from taking a chunk out of Shane's ass if I get the opportunity, but as admin I have to say that I wasn't expecting him to wait more than a couple dozen turns to have finished his unspoken obligation to be nice to his neighbors, and it's now been over a month since he joined in.
