Civver Looking For PBEM Game...

I've downloaded the patch without any problem, but I still can't load the mod. It shows up where it should in BTS main menu, but the game crashes as soon as it closes to restart itself. :wallbash:

I took a glance at Earth 2010 thread but this doesn't seem to be a known problem. Is there a place where I can find some information to fix this?
 
I am assuming he did, since he can run other downloaded mods, right Alvarez?

Can you do me a favor? Go to the public maps folder, right click on it, chose properties and copy the path to that folder. And then post it here. It could be that the mod got istalled under My Games instead of Program Files...

Well, now that I did it, I tested Earth 2010 and it worked just fine! So now I'm ready to go!

Tigranes and lunfa_reo, I took a look at Brazil's situation in the mod and found it very amusing. Brazil's president Lula animation is very funny, since he's wearing a presidential ribbon/strip with Mexican colors! :lol:

Now, honestly, I think Barbarian King put a lot of effort on his mod and it looks very accurate, and I'm willing to try it out. I think I'd like more of a custom game, though, because of the low number of turns (actually I'm not so fond of score points victory).

So, Tigranes, will you make the call to arms?

LOL that's very amusing indeed!

Argentina's president (Cristina Fernandez) in this mod looks more like a combination of her daughter and Isabella (who she is based on I think) :lol:
 
You guys must check out Special Forces unit -- not only it is the most versatile unit I ever seen in BTS :crazyeye: (it takes a while before you learn everything those boys can do, for example being invisible it can paradrop even from another civ's city without anyone knowing about it), but also it has custom graphic for every cultural group. So African Special Forces look black, Latino Special Forces look Latino and Muslim Special Forces look Muslim!

I would like us to try simultaneous Internet Game with all 3 of us (UK, Brazil, Argentina) based on this mod. Any Evening (GMT -5) is good for me. Universal peace for 10 turns, simultaneous turns but no timer. If we play 1-2 hours each evening this can be reasonable fast progressing and fun.

I'd love to play some Internet games with you guys, but unfortunately on weekdays I can't commit to games of this kind. But on weekends I have more freedom to manage my time. Remember last Saturday's game, Tigranes, the game you played with me and other guys I met at GameSpy lasted 10 more hours after you left! :eek:

(I think the main reason for it to last so long was there was no turn timer and we would frequently have to wait for players taking a break, being interrupted and so on. So if we get to play Internet games, I'd suggest a turn timer being present - just not "blazing" or too fast)

Well, as you can imagine I can't do that on weekdays :lol:

But it would be fun, and regarding Earth 2010, we could start a new PBEM game where you can go easy on us :p, maybe with 1 more player we could all set.
 
10 hours :clap:??? Man, what happened after I left?

I was saying 1-2 hour every night, I won't be able to play for 10 hours even if I am all alone!

Already playing 2 PBEMs with this, I keep forgetting what is going on in my many PBEMs -- so I really would not be able to start a new one :(

I wasn't planning on playing for that long, it's just the game was great and I didn't want to disconnect so...

That's why I prefer not to play online during weekdays, I don't like to leave games unfinished or feeling too awake to go to sleep and instead continue ("just one more turn") but the next day being a zombie :sleep: :faint:

I don't think I'll be able to join this kind of game at all. I've tryed to play simultaneously with a friend a couple of months ago and it didn't work out at all. Unfortunately, I can't be sure this problem is not caused by my internet connection, since it's a radio transmission that oscillates so much that some softwares eventually consider it as disconnected [not to mention the surprises of not having any connection at all from time to time]. And if this is the reason, than I won't be able to solve it. :(

I've been mostly a single player but interested in trying out pbem. Regular mp games are just way too fast for my tastes, then again pbem will be quite slow:).

Looking for: ancient start preferably non-modded game
location: gmt +2, Finland
experience: immortal on sp, mp experience limited to hotseat

Question about diplomacy: is it regular to conduct diplo via forum pms or email? I'd prefer forum pms.

Most of us couldn't agree more about MP games = too fast + all about build a military asap & attack neighbors. :(

I'm with U on preferences, however ~40% up here seem to enjoy mods & other less-than-natural setups.

Most diplo is done via PM here... other than the actual offers (& ignoring) that is done within game's diplo screen.

Good to put your location info = smart. (is it in your Profile?) :thumbsup:

Keep checking here for opening games or replacement opportunities. Edit occasionally to keep it near the top.
