The informant, Douglas Campbell, said in the statement obtained by The Hill that he was told by Russian nuclear executives that Moscow had hired the American lobbying firm APCO Worldwide specifically because it was in position to influence the Obama administration, and more specifically Hillary Clinton.

Campbell added in the testimony that Russian nuclear officials “told me at various times that they expected APCO to apply a portion of the $3 million annual lobbying fee it was receiving from the Russians to provide in-kind support for the Clintons' Global Initiative."“The contract called for four payments of $750,000 over twelve months.

“I remember one response I got from an agent when I asked how it was possible CFIUS would approve the Uranium One sale when the FBI could prove Rosatom was engaged in criminal conduct. His answer: ‘Ask your politics,’ ” Campbell said.

Its funny looking back on the debate between Hillary and Trump calling each other Putin's puppets. Not sure how much Russian money went to the Clinton Foundation.

The deep state that organized the campaign against Trump must be seeing the writing on the wall: they lost, the "russian colluision" crap cannot be extended further. Thus they fed their pawns in the media this amazing piece (how stupid do they think readers will be?) trying to pin the blame of the campaign against Trump on some... "mysterious russian"!

We are supposed to believe that the NSA and the CIA were fooled by a mysterious russian who produced the "disinformation", that they innocently took against their scruples (it's the CIA we're talking about...) and now say is false. And then, having been "fooled" for months, just invited the mysterious russian who was in Germany withing their grasp to bug off, how convenient.

BERLIN — After months of secret negotiations, a shadowy Russian bilked American spies out of $100,000 last year, promising to deliver stolen National Security Agency cyberweapons in a deal that he insisted would also include compromising material on President Trump, according to American and European intelligence officials.

Several American intelligence officials said they made clear that they did not want the Trump material from the Russian, who was suspected of having murky ties to Russian intelligence and to Eastern European cybercriminals. He claimed the information would link the president and his associates to Russia. Instead of providing the hacking tools, the Russian produced unverified and possibly fabricated information involving Mr. Trump and others, including bank records, emails and purported Russian intelligence data.

The United States intelligence officials said they cut off the deal because they were wary of being entangled in a Russian operation to create discord inside the American government. They were also fearful of political fallout in Washington if they were seen to be buying scurrilous information on the president.

...

The story does try to appear more believable by including the classic embarrassing admission ("we confess we paid money and ere fooled - see how we're being honest?") right at the start. But really, how stupid do they think people are? I had to double-check whether it was April 1st.

But the Americans desperately wanted the hacking tools. The cyberweapons had been built to break into the computer networks of Russia, China and other rival powers. Instead, they ended up in the hands of a mysterious group calling itself the Shadow Brokers, which has since provided hackers with tools that infected millions of computers around the world, crippling hospitals, factories and businesses.

No officials wanted to refuse information they thought might help determine what had happened.

Wonderful, our own weapon was stolen and used against us

You are supposed to believe bureaucrats lied to a judge with a straight face. You are supposed to believe a FISA judge accepted such a document at face value. You are supposed to believe that the same bureaucrats launched a special investigation to muddy the water. You are supposed to believe that the President of the United States wanted updates on how things were progressing.

Who is Keifer Sutherland playing in this drama?

Have you READ your own article ?

Democrats have asked that a transcript of the interview be released to the public

Justice Department officials told both parties during a briefing in December that they ultimately found they “could not trust” Campbell when he was working as an FBI informant..

But Russia is our Best Friend again ?
If this makes you mad Berzerker then how do you feel about Trump administration ?

helped the FBI gather evidence as early as 2009 that the Russian nuclear industry was engaged in a kickback, bribery and racketeering scheme on U.S. soil.

Ivan engaged in money laundring you say ?

“The contract called for four payments of $750,000 over twelve months. APCO was expected to give assistance free of charge to the Clinton Global Initiative as part of their effort to create a favorable environment to ensure the Obama administration made affirmative decisions on everything from Uranium One to the U.S.-Russia Civilian Nuclear Cooperation agreement."

So Ivan paid 3 Mil to APCO
then APCO was to give Free assitance to Clinton GI
and that would somehow influence Clinton to help them on "EVERYTHING" ?

Yup, even quoted it. The DOJ says the informant cant be trusted. And the DOJ can be trusted? I trust they'll distance themselves from informants who go public with embarrassing details about WH corruption.

The title and OP explain how I feel about him.

Laundering money is what Trump's accused of doing via real estate. This issue involves Hillary and the Obama administration and uranium.

It says some of the money was for bribing her.

Fixed for Berzerker !

Looks like the "Kick back, Bribery and Racketering" case been pushed forward by the DOJ

FBI agents and the confidential informant made secret recordings, gathered records and intercepted emails dating back to 2009 that showed that Russian officials had compromised an American uranium trucking firm with bribes and kickbacks. However, the Department of Justice did not bring charges until 2014

The issue is how the Obama administration agreed to the uranium deal, parts of the annual 3mill was supposed to cover bribing Hillary
