Columbia Univ. thugs recieve "slap on wrist"

They do the same thing to Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, and other conservatives who are invited to speak. Indeed, the leftist (I won't offend honest liberals by brushing them with this stroke) definition of free speech is "I believe that all speech which concurs with my ideas should be freely expressed. Others must be silenced."

They're hypocrites because Canada and the United States are founded on 'illegal' immigration. And yes, they are bigots. Officially, perhaps not, but individual members certainly are bigots and racists.

Pasi, I'll back you on this as soon as you can show me codified Aztec, Incan, Mohican, Iroquis, or any other aboriginal American tribe's laws which dealt with illegal immigration.

To be even fairer;), Bill O' Reilly cutting his mic to crazy guests fits this here definiton.

If being anti-illegal immigration makes one a racist, then I guess Lou Dobbs is the biggest racist around. :crazyeye:

Anti-illegal-immigration (as well as its cousin anti-immigration) doesn't make one a racist per se, but it can justify it extremely easily - much like anti-zionism can lead easily to anti-semitism.

Can anyone shed light on the "3000 deaths" that the student protester speaks of? Is it a pure fabrication? A twisting of numbers that were once accurate? Or is there something to it?

I don't of any deaths the Minute Men have caused.

I definately would think there'd be some deaths if a Coyote dumps a load in a river to try and distract pursuing police.

Its almost stomach wrenching that someone that stupid is in a university while I'm stuck in community college but I'd say its the number of people who have died while trying crossing the border.

Of course they were killed by drowning, exposure, cayotes and cartels and not by minute man members or border patrol. Crossing the US/Mex border involves crossing a big hot desert, swimming across a massive river, or entrusting your life and money to these "cayotes". There is actually an effort on the American side to try and reduce these deaths.

Idiots. Even if you disagree with the minutemen, this is not how one should express it.

And everything they said that I could understand was incorrect.

Jesus Christ, kid, think for yourself instead of stringing together prefabricated phrases.

I can respect someone who holds your opinion, but not someone who defends it so poorly that it's clear he hasn't thought about it very much. Or very well perhaps.

By biased liberal education I am refering to the growing apologetic movement that has compromised the academic atmosphere in most college campuses. It's to the point that in many Universities (particularly the ivy league institutions) students are being punished for simply expressing views that are not in accordance to mainstream thought. I wouldn't be surprised if the most bigoted places in America, with regard to free thought, is on a college campus.

Now I am not saying the all people who consider themselves liberals are part this aggressive movement, and I am aware that thought segregation exists in both parties. However this apologetic movement is an invention of the left that began with good intentions and is now being abused and warped. When free thinking is repressed and your exposed to limited schools of thought the inevitable result is elitism and mob rule. Liberal campuses should be a bastion for free speech not the opposite. Again I am quite positive that there are many Liberals who condemn the actions of the Columbia protesters, but the actions of these students are the direct result of what they are thought. I hope that clears things up.

I don't get it. Are you trying to prove my point?

You say that "thought segregation exists in both parties" then say that "this apologetic movement is an invention of the left." What relevance does the second comment have in light of the first? Is the second comment even trivially true?

You say that the "apologetic movement" punishes students "for simply expressing views that are not in accordance to mainstream thought" then say that this movement "began with good intentions"? What were those intentions? Without details, the qualifier "began with good intentions" is a preemptive and not very potent sop to an obvious counterargument about the anti-intellectual tendencies of the Right.

You say that the "apologetic movement" intends to have us "exposed to limited schools of thought" then say that it "has compromised the academic atmosphere." Does the academic atmosphere thrive when all schools of thought are accorded equal importance? For example, should creationism and genetics be equally emphasized? Should trickle-down and Keynesian economics receive equal time?

You say that "the inevitable result" of the movement you described "is elitism and mob rule." Elitism AND mob rule?

Again I am quite positive that there are many Liberals who condemn the actions of the Columbia protesters

Hold on, let's be clear about what's being discussed here.

You have moved the field of debate well beyond the Columbia protestors by alleging a movement or conspiracy to shut down "free speech" and "free thought" on "liberal campuses."

That's a charge you cannot support with more than muddled buzzwords and lockjaw-inducing prefab phrases. Horowitz would be proud - you almost best him in eloquence.

Actualy on many collage campuses the rabid leftist liberals stifel free speech of conservative students and speekers. It stems from the indocternation by liberal teachers (most university teachers are liberal just ask them). How often do we hear about conservative student rushing the stage to silence speech they don't like? Yet we hear many stories about liberal students atacking speakers and military recruiters. Conservative speekers have been canceled at places like Brown University. These stories happen all the time Columbia is just one school among many.

Bump, for the idiocy of hypocritical college students.
