Nope, Magellan´s ship Trinidad didnt return either. Of the five initial vessels only the Victoria commanded by Elcano made it.

BTW circumnavigating the word was never part of Magellan´s plans, it was Elcano, who after Magellan death at Philipines deciced to continue westward to return to Europe instead of turning back.
 
While simply coming to America wasn't "Illegal" taking the Indians' land certainly was.

But, what's done is done.
Dommy, the point was... they didn't have any laws nor land ownership theories...
Obviously, the world would not be better off had the status quo been left to continue.
