Common Errors and/or Crashes Section

I tested SVN rev451 and first have to say thx for updating the c2c_perfectworld script which fixed my crash when trying to generate a larger then tiny map.

What I found so far is that the buttons for lesser research and for the tracker is pink (not the unit).

Some turns into the game I also experienced a crash which is repeatable.
I saved the the turn before in compatibility mode.

I believe this is a missing art asset (strongly suspect hunters or trackers). I think something has gone AWOL from the FPK, but I can't find a tool that lets me unpack FPKs to check (the one I downloaded claims its an invalid FPK). Anyone able to tell me where to get tools that can pack/unpack our FPKs?

Probably my fault. I am moving the art files so they can be put in the FPK. They were in Subdue Animals. I probably made a mistake in the Art Defines Unit file.

Edit Fixed. I had not moved the hunter buttons and had an extra s in th art defines for lesser research.

This isn't a fatal error, but I've noticed with v16 that standard Workers will show estimated times to place resources, an ability only the Great Farmer has.

It is the footprint of one of the buildings I recycled from OV. Since he went through all his graphics and fixed problems like this I think it is time I re-recycle it. National Library Service based on Library of Ninivah graphics if I remember correctly.

Terribly sorry, I was looking for a workaround and must have forgotten to save correctly... here we are.

Thanks for the save. Turns out this is an old bug from AND or possibly even earlier. Anyway, fixed now and pushed to SVN. I can't easily provide a DLL patch however, as the latest DLL is tangled up with a bunch of XML changes without which it won't operate correctly (i.e. - we'll need a full 16.1 patch release, not just a DLL update).

I'll let StrategyOnly decide when he wants to do a 16.1 update.

See there in-lies the problem, since "I" make changes directly to the FPK, "I" just can't make a change, when you see an FPK in the SVN, that is the change(s) i made, so "I" have to make a COMPLETE change when i put my stuff out:blush: sorry everyone.

Not sure how this happened, but I have a forest growing on a farm.

That is because you weren't working the farm so it went into disrepair. this feature was added to AND and got carried over to C2C. If you work the farm the forest should clear after one turn.

Good day for you all.

I got CTD in modern age.

My computer is i5, 4 gb Ram. 64 bit Win7, video card NVIDIA Geforce GT 220, with 2746 Mb video memory.

Savegame just before the CTD is attached.

Please help.

Did you forget to attach the save? (don't forget it must be a max compatibility save BTW). Also you don't say what version of C2C you are running. I asume it's V16?

attaching the savegame just before the CTD

Thanks for the save game. Bug fix pushed to SVN. As I mentioned above I can't provide a patch of the DLL only since the latest is tangled up with XML changes. However, I expect there will be a 16.1 soon (appologies for the delay until then).

I noticed when I was debugging your WfoC that your turn times seemed to be very slow. I have now taken your game as a test case and done some performance analysis. It turns out the the game option 'Great Commanders' is a huge performance hog.

I will be pushing a fix for this to SVN later today.

Edit - turn end for this game was 91 seconds on my machine. It's 69 after the great commanders fix. I will continue to use this save for some more performance work, but that's for another day. This fix is now pushed to SVN. It won't majorly impact games in which great commanders were anyway turned off (they should see a small improvement but the vast bulk is in the GC code).

Dude, Koshling, you are a MACHINE :worship: LOVE to see improvements to performance.
