Communitu_79a mapscript VP version

You mean capitals are too close to each other? If yes, I find it problematic too, especially on Terra - Largest Continent (that's sometimes not largest) setting, and with 4 MIN_CITY_RANGE.

Weird thing, I was able to found like 4-5 cities no issues before 4.8. Now, in some games I - only 1-2.

I don't know what happened but the civs indeed are more clustered and close to each other.
Usually the trend is all civs spread in 2-3 continents leaving other landmasses completely empty.
Even with my custom Communitu with larger huge maps (the only difference is only map size) the capitals are relatively close to each other.

Those "empty continents" are obviously not fertile enough to hold 2 civs. You can see every landmass fertility in Lua.log.

9 tile distance between 2 major civ starts is considered minimum.

Either way, this isn't related to map generation.

I'll join the crowd, there is something wrong. I'm getting civs so close that I can barely found 1 city besides the capital before I get ganged up from all sides for contested borders. I play with 11 civs on Large, 8 of them spawn in the same continent, this can't be right...

Then what would it possibly be? How can I play Progress with 10 cities a few versions ago and now I'm only able to play soft one city challenge? Difficulty level? Need to start with Pottery always?

Another game, another instance of extremely uneven distribution of starting spots.
14 civs total. One continent hosts 2 civs, another hosts 12. The first continent does look smaller, but not at such ratio. There hasn't been empty land on the second continent since couple of ages ago, while the first one still has lots of unclaimed property.
Could azum or whoever is in charge/capable fix this otherwise awesome map script?

Report on Github or VP version threads. You're clogging up the mapscript thread for something not related to it. Bring Lua logs.

is it possible to have a single continent option?
I like it more than the pangea script, specially with all the customization it allows, but despite no oceans setting it usually spawns two big continents, even if set to have all civs on the largest mass
