Completely Dumb Ideas

We should give Leoreth a deadline on K Mod, or we'll all just leave and hate him. What has he ever done for us anyways? Just make us wait...

Spoiler :
Francis:
We get in through the underground heating system here... up through to the main audience chamber here... and Pilate's wife's bedroom is here. Having grabbed his wife, we inform Pilate that she is in our custody and forthwith issue our demands. Any questions?
Xerxes:
What exactly are the demands?
Reg:
We're giving Pilate two days to dismantle the entire apparatus of the Roman Imperialist State and if he doesn't agree immediately we execute her.
Matthias:
Cut her head off?
Francis:
Cut all her bits off, send 'em back every hour on the hour... show him we're not to be trifled with.
Reg:
Also, we're demanding a ten foot mahogany statue of the Emperor Julius Caesar with his cock hanging out.
Stan:
What? They'll never agree to that, Reg.
Reg:
That's just a bargaining counter. And of course, we point out that they bear full responsibility when we chop her up, and... that we shall not submit to blackmail.
Omnes:
(Applause) No blackmail!
Reg:
They've bled us white, the bastards. They've taken everything we had, not just from us, from our fathers and from our fathers' fathers.
Stan:
And from our fathers' fathers' fathers.
Reg:
Yes.
Stan:
And from our fathers' fathers' fathers' fathers.
Reg:
All right, Stan. Don't labour the point. And what have they ever given us in return?
Xerxes:
The aqueduct.
Reg:
Oh yeah, yeah they gave us that. Yeah. That's true.
Masked Activist:
And the sanitation!
Stan:
Oh yes... sanitation, Reg, you remember what the city used to be like.
Reg:
All right, I'll grant you that the aqueduct and the sanitation are two things that the Romans have done...
Matthias:
And the roads...
Reg:
(sharply) Well yes obviously the roads... the roads go without saying. But apart from the aqueduct, the sanitation and the roads...
Another Masked Activist:
Irrigation...
Other Masked Voices:
Medicine... Education... Health...
Reg:
Yes... all right, fair enough...
Activist Near Front:
And the wine...
Omnes:
Oh yes! True!
Francis:
Yeah. That's something we'd really miss if the Romans left, Reg.
Masked Activist at Back:
Public baths!
Stan:
And it's safe to walk in the streets at night now.
Francis:
Yes, they certainly know how to keep order... (general nodding)... let's face it, they're the only ones who could in a place like this.

(more general murmurs of agreement)
Reg:
All right... all right... but apart from better sanitation and medicine and education and irrigation and public health and roads and a freshwater system and baths and public order... what have the Romans done for us?
Xerxes:
DoC!
Reg:
(very angry, he's not having a good meeting at all) What!? Oh... (scornfully) DoC, yes... shut up!

That's EXACTLY what I was going for!

That's EXACTLY what I was going for!

I know. And I think it was very good joke - consider that if community would start to give deadlines Leoreth that would be the most Completely Dumbest Idea.

And with my joke I want to stress point that what we would really have with out Leoreth. Always when I play Roman Empire for some reason that scene from Life of Brian comes to my mind when Jerusalem have independents rebel...

There should be a Beowulf UU for the Vikings. He can swim across seas (bringing back sea monster loot), swim through land, blow down walls with his "Mighty breath" ability.

I know I'll be shot down by half of you regulars, but I got to get this off my chest.
Unique Culture
For example.
Japan's UC: Anime. Appears in the 1980's. -5 culture per export.

*BLAM*
Anime has a whole lot more philosophy than most western media.
And isnt that what mostly drives a good portion of culture in the beginning.

I've always thought that Japan's UHVs should include acquiring 3 Hit Movies. To represent Anime/Manga.

Instead of the dreary "Be the first to finish the Tech Tree", the final Japanese UHV should be:

"Acquire 3 Hit Movies and 20 Fishing Industry resources by 2000CE, and be the first to discover Ecology and Robotics."

^ This sums up modern Japan for me.

Courage the Cowardly Dog has a lot of philosophy too, but at least it isn't acted with high pitch, Bee Gee like voice artists with flying squids and women dressed like 18th century 7 year olds. Anime just isn't executed well.
That being said, I love Japan and have been there many times on vacation and business. Yet I'm the only person who doesn't like anime there, except maybe some neo-samurai.
England's Unique Culture:
Acquire all the tea in the world. Even if it means invading India for it.

We should add more abilities in diplomacy. For instance, add the option to slap the other world leader (like Catherine does)

Add more minor civs that will do nothing but either fail or slow your game speed/time even more! I was thinking Canada, Australia, Madagascar, Polynesia, Uzbekistan and Haiti.

With K-mod being integrated, turn speeds should quicken noticeably, so a whole pile of extra minor civs wouldn't necessarily be problematic.
