The soundtracks in Grand Theft Auto III and Vice City were spectacular.

I've always felt that the acclaim leant to the GTA soundtracks was a bit misplaced. They're essentially a series of acontextual mix-tapes, and rather impersonal ones at that.

The Guilty Gear series normally has some kickin' rad themes.

I humbly respectuflly disagree. It's a game, after all. For realism, watch Burn Notice.

:mischief: A slight bit of extrapolation and rampant speculation has never hurt anyone, has it?

Not a computer game, technically, but the Ace Combat games have always had fantastic scores. This one starts off in atonal clusters and then slowly flows into something else - listen with the volume up to catch the early parts! :D

I thought the Age of Wonders music was beautiful and I'm listening to the BGII music right now :)

Jeremy Soule's pieces are always lovely, whether that be Morrowind, Oblivion or anything else.

The theme to The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind is a personal favourite. It seems to be the perfect illustration of the game's atmosphere.

Likewise, the Dynasty Warriors theme, which almost perfectly illustrates the differences between the games. ;)

"Ride On", the Ragnarok theme from Final Fantasy VIII was always fun, in a silly sort of way.

And, of course, who could forget that overlooked treasure, Overboard?

I want to know what the composer of this is doing these days and what other masterpieces he has made from those times on:
