Conan moving up, Fallon's following behind

Letterman used to be funny before he went senile.

I can't wait for Conan to take over the Tonight Show, and I was ecstatic when I found out that Richter is returning to be the announcer, and to do skits with Conan. That's just the icing on the cake.

Conan is a national hero in Finland for a reason...

I wholeheartedly approve Conan movin' on up. I always preferred him to the other late night shows.

Because he looks like the president!

I used to watch Conan every day but lately have missed out due to school, etc.
And the new time does coincide with TCR :( so that kinda sucks.

I catch some late-night TV from time to time when I'm lying in bed. There's some good interviews and some funny quips on some evening/late-night talk shows, from time to time...

but..

surely there's far more interesting stuff to be doing in the evenings than to watch this stuff religiously, like some people do? Late-night talk shows are still a huge thing, and I mean.. yeah, I get that it's driven by celebrity pop-culture (the interviews, etc.).. People are interested in celebrities and what they're up to, and that's one of the main driving forces behind why these shows are so popular.. and yeah, when I "only" used to get 30 channels, and I was a bigger TV geek, Letterman was a fun show to watch, from time to time. But I mean, come on, there's hundreds of channels now, streaming video on the intertubes, there's books, you could go and cook something, call a friend.. the possibilities are limitless!

I suppose I grew out of late-night talk shows for the above reasons (plus, the more I mature, the less I care about celebrities), and I don't really understand why my way of thinking is not the norm ;)

But you gotta admit that some people do - I mean.. those shows have loyal viewers who tune in every night.

dunno about you but I watch The Daily Show and The Colbert Report on their respective websites when I have the time. the 21st century is funny that way... then again the 80s had the VCR (my dad bought a betamax :> ). been a long time since I had to watch a show at the time it was actually aired in order not to miss it.

and there is nothing wrong with watching it live as often as you can either, if it gives you pleasure. watch it with friends or your spouse. sure beats downing shots at the local watering hole imho and that was considered acceptable entertainment for decades... still is as far as I am concerned. you are all adults. just stop trying to pretend to know how other people should pass their time. you are entitled to your own personal opinion, of course. just as entitled as you are as to the option of not flaunting it to every passerby because you feel insecure about it and need to assert your PoV. live and let live. peace out...
