Console RPG Talk

Oy, I forgot about the starting bonus... When created at Genius, you have 10 points to allocate whereas a Good For Nothing has a -5 points. That would affect base stats over some leveling in the end so I guess replacing a character is useful in a sense. I guess after a certain point as far as stored levels go, it would be a wash... Rocket scientist dude at GameFAQS figured out that to have a maxed stat character, you would have to have 190,000 levels stored away. (THAT I doubt I will try for.)

Well I looked through and saw I had every monster class and tier opened, so I made some good for nothings just to unlock all tiers of all jobs that were human. I hadn't tried any skulls until then, and male/female discrepancies are gone.

I think it doesn't matter whether your character was originally created as a good-for-nothing, or as a genius. When trans as genius, I think the yellow bars in the stats (in add to the normal green bars for the class) are dependant on the level of your character, rather than its original base stats. ;) Just that the char is a pain to play, during its cycle as a good-for-nothing.

Which is what I mean.

But the higher your base stat when you trans affects your base stat AFTER trans... So a higher base base is better, no?

A good for nothing
A Genious

Both start at level 1. Both trans at level 500. I bet the Genious would have better base stats after the trans.

A sidenote but Burger King now has HAMTARO toys in their kids meals! Let me know if you want me to send some out to you. :D hehehe...

As for FFTA, clan level is 11, but 'best' char is still the white mage/sage at 16. I also have 1 or 2 char, having nothing new to learn (no new items to derive skills fr).

Hence, getting MontBlanc to learn to be a thief (I don't really have a thief). Maybe my bangaa Templar to become a dragoon as well...

My viera is now very close to open up the assassin class... :)

My Viera just hit assassain... but so recently that I didn't even get to try her out yet. :)

My Dragoon's beginning Gladiator, Marche reached Ninja, Gunner's started Mog Knight, both Nu Mou's have learning Double MP. I also got the third shop upgrade, which only adds a cureall, and have trade items option open, but I have no one to link with. :(

I forget what level my clan is, but I have about 31 hours in now.

XIII XIII XIII... <sigh> The first question I am correct. When you trans, all base stats are higher PRIOR to allocationg the 'bonus' points where you want to. Even if you didn't allocate your bonus points at transmigration, your base stats will still rise, just really slowly. I doublechecked my records I kept of each trans and transed last night as verification. I knew each time I transed, each character's level 1 stats were higher than the previous level 1 stats...

Not really. Got a character at lvl 1000, trans and then try to trans again at lvl 100 or 200. His base stats dropped! Though got more bonus points.

I think for each trans, you'll have to get the character to a higher level, for its base stats (prior to bonuses) to be higher than the prev one. Probably to do with existing lvl and/or stats.

Ploughed another 100 hours or so into the game (I'm at 210 now :)). Using the CoO3 map, got all my 10 characters first to lvl 500, then lvl 1000. :D Trans at lvl 1100 or so, then quickly brought them back to lvl 500. Even at lvl 1, my characters can now manage a complete wipe out at CoO3. Hehe. Raised fr lvl 1 to 127 with first swipe...

Wasted more than 1 million mana when doing the trans though...

Probably did hundreds of runs thru the Item World. Got accelerators, nirvana armors, exoduses for all characters. Even got a legendary cosmic blade, a legendary accelerator, a legendary exodus, a legendary nirvana armor. :) Got more than 10 exoduses in storage. Most of those being used are rares.

Only figured out recently how to see in the bonus box what's there to loot, before going for a full-chained Geo explosion. Silly me.

Got specialists in the tens of thousands. Got 11 full statisticians, 2 managers, 1 armsmaster at almost 2000. Also gotten loads of gladiators, teachers, marksmen etc.

Also gotten my saviour and angel mage the element-tera spells - finally raise the mage pupils for my angel mage (itself pupil to my saviour). Flonne has gotten the tera star spell long ago though.

Also raised scout, rogue, male warrior and brawler and ninja - all now in the lvl 130 - 160 range. And the thing is they have almost never been in battle. I only take them out, when there're exp bonuses to get (at end of battle). So sort of like levelling them on the side. My normal team did all the real fighting.

Thinking of raising some monsters, some just look so cool.

WELL LOOK WHO DECIDED TO SHOW UP. :p I thought maybe the Yakuza got you XIII. Lefty said they were just installing your new cybernetic brain.

Well you definitely whoopin on it now. Make a SURT. :) It is the best non-elemental of it's class and it has a 3x3 attack. :goodjob:

You're right on the transing. Man, a lot of info has come out lately on it at gameFAQS. If you level a character on CoO3 to lvl 693 which is 6 times on the level after doing 3 promotion exams, that is the optimal time to trans. Thus building up bonus levels the quickest. This is taking into consideration the amount of time to do this at all levels and such. But transing is really a waste of time. You need some 180,000 to 190,000 stored levels to get maxed base stats. But you can get awesome equipment long before that. I stopped transing and just started doing the equipment. The end results of maxed stats in comparison to good equipment is pathetic. You could have a character at level one who has never transed before and with good equipment supplemented with specialists, be killing anything and everything with one shot.

You should go after Baal & Uber Baal. Baal has the ultimate monster weapon (Nemesis) and ultimate armor (Super Robo Suit). Uber Baal has another weapon and the Prinny costume but both are level 100 and so you can't go to item world to get more of them. He also doesn't kill item gods when he levelled them up so they are weaker than the weapons before them.

I have a Super Robo Suit at level 100 and another at level 60, a Yo****suna at level 70, a Legendary Cosmic Blade at Level 100 (where I got the Yo****suna) and another at level 40. I have a legendary of every other weapons second best at like level 10 (for specialists) and I guess I'll finish them up to get the ultimate weapons of each class.

So you got one of each (humanoid) character class now?

Except for the recruit and the majin... Will work on it when I have time... ;)

Transing is ok; just don't overdo it. I'm doing a mixture of trans and levelling equipment, and capturing specialists; so in the end, it all works out.

Game is easy - I've never lost a battle. Ever. :)

If you forget to lower the Enemy strength bills and go after some secret characters/bosses you might. ;)

Been meaning to ask - what's a SURT? :hmm:

Surt is to ----- what a shinobi or shadow ninja is to ninja.

It's the name of the specific tier. I forget what though. It's the pig headed beast with flames coming off of it? Yellow in color. Some are fire elemental or ice. Surt is the second strongest tier in terms of stats, but non-elemental more than makes up for it.

It is also the only monster class to have a 3x3 attack. Levelling up without it takes a bit longer obviously. But I noticed in levels in item world around 70 and up that I was gaining levels for each kill. My Laharl is up to 3800+ and about the last 1000 levels are from item world.

Got my 3rd Super Robo Suit last night. Going after a second Yo****suna now. Oh, it mods my sword name. Oh well.

Fully powered up 2 rare cosmic blades; going to do same for legendary artemis (I got 2!), legendary god's hand and legendary cosmic blades. Going to train up a space pirate to steal... soon.

BTW, how do you... 'steal'?

You better get on that space pirate. On level 100 of those Legendary weapons, you can steal the next best weapon (which happens to be the best weapon possible) from the Item God on Level 100. I have second best legendaries of each weapon levelled to about 40 or 50 each but I have only done the Cosmic Blades all the way through. The Item Gods in them have the Yo****suna which is the best sword in the game. Once you get a Yoshi tsuna or any of the other ultimate weapons, you can then get another the same way or by levelling IT up and the Item God on Level 100 will have another for you.

Anyone can steal but not worth it unless it is a space pirate or like tier. You get within a couple spaces of who you want to steal from and use a 'hand' item. Any 'hand' will do. Bandit's is second best and Awesome is the best. Your thief must be at least half the levels of the enemy you want to steal from to have a 99% chance of stealing. If the level is too low, percentage drops. Steal is based only on level of your thief and the hit of the glove but that is not an issue usually. Get your thief to level 3500. Don't trans. His stats suck and he is only good for stealing. Well, that's the only reason I use mine.

How did you get these Legendaries without stealing? Bonus Gauge?

Power up a Space Pirate and go steal the Robosuit from Baal. That is the greatest item ever. :goodjob:

I think maybe you're messin with me on this "How do I steal" line...

Wow, I hit post reply and the "Visit Our Sponsor" screen came up...

FFX2 looks better than I was expecting. I read the whole 6 pages... :)

Why level 3500?

Yep. :)

Power up a Space Pirate and go steal the Robosuit from Baal. That is the greatest item ever. :goodjob:
Where's Baal located? The Alternate Netherworld? Or the Mysterious Seal?

???

I really have no idea - anyway I have about 5 awesome hands, so... :D

Yeah, indeed, FFX2 looks pretty good. I've always been fond of palaying females. :yeah:

Well you can buy the second best hands for like 13,xxx and they are pretty good for most things. Level 3500... Well, for your thief to have 99% chance of stealing, he must be half (or more) levels as the intended theft victim. The Item Gods get up near level 7000... I don't know... MY thief is close to 3600 but when I go to steal another Yo****suna from an Item God, the odds drop to like 68%. Now if my thief was around level 2000, it would be like 13%... I think the better the item to be stolen, the lower the odds also. The ultimate weapon is 68% and anything else is like 95% on the item gods. It's bad because my Space Pirate is a weak chump and one hit kills him. He missed once and I had to reset or not get the weapon. Of course, I equip him with nothing good really except a Hyperdrive which lets him move anywhere to help aid his stealing. So.... Level 3500 is a fairly good spot to make stealing for you pretty easy. 4000 would be ideal as he then would never fail.

Baal. He is in Mysterious Seal. Alternate Netherworld is a secret character who will join your party after defeat. Beauty Castle is also a secret character who joins you after defeat. He has the robosuit and some monster weapon. I forget which, just keep in mind that the best possible monster weapon you can get is the Nemesis. Nemesis MKII when you get it is already level 100 but without the generals killed so Nemesis will be more powerful when you power it up.

Definitely do your thief up NOW. You can steal legendary cosmics, god hands, galactic staffs, durandals, artemis, longinus, and infernal guns from characters in item world. (did I miss a weapon?) Always check at the beginning of each level not only the bonus gauge but the equipment of all enemies.

Oh, and you did get the talking Longinus in your castle, right? Use armsmasters and get anyone up to spear mastery level 25 or higher. Go into the senate and back out and talk to the spear. He will join you and is always a legendary. Bottom of him will allow you to steal the ultimate spear.

FFX2 - only three characters but 20 classes is interesting. Rikku is my little Christina Hoguilera lookalike so it's all good. Paine looks like a flat chested Lulu. :D Comes out this Tuesday over here. Same day as Two Towers extended version.
