If you're not against a late start, I personally suggest playing one of the Turkish folks in Anatolia after 1307 (when the Sultanate of Rum has exploded) - late games play a little different than early start games, but I like them because you have a shorter timespan so you have to focus more on your goals. But anyhow the post-1307 start has the Ottomans, where you can attempt to pull off what the Ottomans did historically in a relatively free-for-all situation in the Balkans and Anatolia, with Muslims, Catholics, and Orthodox squaring off against each other.

Andalusia by itself can't turn into Hispania. You have to own at least 80% of the de jure counties (which means Andalusia plus some), and you have to be of the correct culture - either Andalusian or Iberian. Granada, by the way, is Maghreb by default (not Andalusian). There may be a few other Muslim rulers in the 1066 start in Andalusia who are Maghreb culture.

But you need to hold two Kingdom titles but all the Kingdom titles in Spain other than Andalusia require the Christian Religion.

Unless of course those two Kingdom titles can be any kingdom titles, in which case that's pretty cool.

I think only Francia requires you to have one of your kingdoms inside the empire, and that one can't be your primary.

You can usurp kingdom titles without being the right religion. If you destroy the kingdom title (by wiping out the current holder), then you need at least two Kingdom titles, so you need to take a kingdom outside of Hispania (or get creative - a one-generation swap to Christianity for example).

Venice is already dead, taking by HRE, (still my liege). It's pisa and genoa (and the papal lands) that are out of my de jure kingdom. I dont fancy fabricating claims to take 1 county every 10years.

Think next game ill try duke of toulouse or aquitania, or maybe somewhere russia

I second that. In my late-start 1300s Renaissance era go-make-the-kingdom-of-Italy game, I conquered Venice and made it my capital for the lulz. Had a little bump in income after a while.

what you Dont know is how my game Is going now, or what even my intentions/goals were. whiCh is pretty much the biggest factor. I wanted to recreate modern day italy, starting as parma. 100y have just passed, and made the Kingdom 5 years ago. Problem is that pisa and genoa are now longer de jure part of italy.

Because it are republics, there is no heir who i can marry to, or even a claimant who i can invite. Only thing that remains is fabricating claims= recruiting all my forces to snap one county every 10 years. And i dont fancy doing that.

But hey, its only my game. I just wanna play it and enjoy it the way i want. But i only have a 100 posts here. what do i know?

Im not gonna get into this. Its my game, i payed for it, i can play however i want. I didnt even asked for advice, i just made a neutral statement. If he feels offended/sad/whatever about it thats his problem. I know venice is a wealthy province and and a worthy asset to any realm (which any 8y can see by looking at the stats), but its not relevant.

I dont go around telling people how to play their game, with the justification i have poured many hours into it. Starting to get snappy just because i contradicted him (actually, only give an argument against why i cant get venice, since my way bigger liege has it), is not necessary. Wonder why i only have 100 posts here....
