CTR1 -- Jump Without Looking (the Deity Virgin Sacrifice)

Somthing I think we should consider is putting a couple of dozen tanks in boats and shipping them to Brighton.

If we take out Allegheny and Brighton on the first turn then England will have no oil as Earp said earlier.

Another thing I didn't do was put our army in a boat. This was because I thought it may be needed against a Persian sneak attack. Obviously the army would be a solid way of holding up the Artillery as it was against India.

Last point. When do we put a spy in Persia? I think we should do it the same turn we attempt the tech steal.
 
No. I didn't think it necessary ATM as they will never get to Space. :)

Ideally we would like one before war, but I didn't want to precipitate war just yet. So I didn't take the risk. It might be worth stealing their plans just to see how many and what types of unit they have. The war is going to be bloody, and needs to start b4 they get computers really. Although they are broke they can still draft.

Once we have 100 tanks then I would plant spies and steal techs until they declare.

We need a spy in Persia soon. But I think we can wait until they ar at war with England. I get nervous when playing waiting turns ;)

I wonder what would have happened if Persia had called a vote?

OK. So I've had a look at the save again to try to gauge where we are at.

Persia have had Rocketry for 20 turns at least. They have computers too. They will have started their SSS I imagine. So I would plant a spy immediately. I have an awful feeling that they have half a dozen parts built. Having said that, they are still in communism so satellites should still be a way off.

England may have mech inf now, so it is pointless delaying the war. Also their military alliance with Persia has ended.

I would ship all our units to England and steal radio. If that doesn't get a war started, then just declare. Persia will be forced to join in anyway on our side.

I would also mobilise for war. Just change all production in england to settlers first.

I would try to take Allegheny and a couple of other cities too on the first turn. Make sure you take the English city on our continent, otherwise the Persians will.

A lot depends upon what the spy tells us. I just have a horrible feeling we are in for a nasty surprise.

I vote we go for it now.

Does anyone know whether you can try to plant a spy several times during one turn (and have a chance at suceeding that is)? I seem to rembember you can't. It usually takes several tries and so will take several turns.

Furthermore, Persia has an MMP with England too. If we are the aggressor, Persia will declare *US*. Sooo, I would still like to try and get *them* to declare. We should have started planting spies and stealing earlier (eg right after Earp turns ), but we can still do so now.

I think a rightout declaration would defeat our plans and I'm not just saying that because I want quiet turns... ;) To tell you the truth I'm starting to develop quite a taste for warfare (all due to Mad's patient training :lol: ).

I decide to try to plant a spy in England first thing and... we succeed we have a spy in England.
They have 1 tank :) and 44 Mech Infs :( , 52 Infs and 12 cavs. 15 bombers and 2 carriers. England has not started spaceship parts yet...

England has 50 Mech Infs and 2 Tanks. I try to steal Radio, at the lowest cost/chance and fail she catches us and is now Annoyed.

Aaaarggghhh, the game crashes on me, that's a first. :( Rather new comp, lots of memory, super fast chip etc. and it still complains about a "drawbuffer failure". Thank god for autosaves....
I'll try and do the things I did in the same sequence.

Errrm, I must have done something different, because this time our stealing attempt succeeds, I don't know whether I should be pleased or not :undecide:, but there you have it we can buld bombers now.

Should I switch to producing bombers or should we play on as though we did *not* succeed?
 
What do you want bombers for space? The Persians have plenty, use theirs. ;)

IIRC The MPP between England and Persia has expired.
Does Persia have Ecology? It's important.

I think we'll need ten turns to do for England (God save the queen :p ) and a further 5 to ten to join all the workers in and fill the cultural gaps. If Persia don't have Ecology then we may be able to wait till the end of your turn for a war declaration. Otherwise you'll have to fly the tanks over and get stuck in.
We are 8 turns from a UN vote we may now lose too. So Persia has to be sucked in to the war.

How many turns left on our MPP with Persia?

I thought we had more tanks than that too. I'm sure I left the game with 74 :confused:

Any road up. I doubt this game will come back to me. HAve fun with probably your last turn in this game. :)

:o Look at the dates, Mad, and you'll see what happend to your Tanks... seems I played ChrTh's save instead of yours. :o

I'll leave it up to you to decide how I should continue. I don't mind playing again from your save on or continue we we are now, I'll now go and hide in a corner for now, if you don't mind. :o
 
Tut Tut ;)

I think you will need to play on from my save. It gets rid of the tech steal issue.

See if you can successfully plant two spies and steal a tech twice in a row.
