I can't help specifically, but generally if you are running a lot af graphics then you are using a lot of frame buffer memory. You will have problems if a device is trying to access the particular memory addresses used by the buffer. Closing Paint will reduce the size of the frame buffer. Have you installed any new devices lately? Scanners, cameras etc. Also you might try disabling Pallette snoop in the BIOS.
Finally, what graphics card do you have, how much memory does in have, and when did you last change the driver for it?
Another finally, when you ran the ant-virus utility, did it do any cleaning?
