Keep in mind that the Kongo wasn't explored by Europeans until the late 1800s.

To be fair, Kingdom of Kongo =/= Belgian Kongo. Most of it is actually in Angola, afaik.

While I agree with your larger point, that Kongo wasn't anything like a major part of the slave trade, I don't see what in the world European exploration has to do with anything. The Europeans were more than happy to sail into a port and trade for whatever slaves happened to be there, regardless of their point of origin. I'm all for some representation of the slave trade, and Kongo did play a SMALL part in that trade, but as it stands the UHV is a bit clunky. Not bad for a first try, though

Thanks for these links. While I too was under the impression that the West African states provided more slaves, I thought that West Central Africa also carried a lot of weight there. Turns out I wasn't that wrong

Isn't there something majestic that Kongo did that can be made into UHV?
IMO slave trade should be separated into a mechanic rather than part of UHV.

Yes, it did. The slave trade took mostly place along the African west coast (ghana-angola), not in West Africa

It also feels mildly like you did something about tech trade in the Congo commit .

They used to look like that. Now I have Roman red vikings and Orange Italians o_O. What do I do?! I can't live my life with this sorcery =P. Do I uninstall VD?

Have you gone to Assets\Modules\Varietas Delectat\XML\UnitArtStyles&CivInfos\VD_CIV4CivilizatonInfos and made the necessary changes of Italy player color to Italy and Viking player color to Light Purple?
