New update, the popups now show which civ would experience a crisis (including severity and type), even though crisis effects are not yet in. Also, the stability levels are already changing and are displayed in the scoreboard.

Still no collapses of course.

Have you noticed how horrible Persia's Stability is during autoruns? They never seem to get above -30 as far as I can see.

I'm mainly looking at 600 AD numbers currently. But I'll investigate the reason, Persia needs a new UP anyway. Thanks for reporting.

I have ideas for improved Persia UU/UB and Zoroastrian Wonders (Apadana Palace and Royal Road) but I thought you're focusing on general game mechanics rather than specific civs. Let me know if you need them.

Yeah, civ changes stuff is already piling up (Korea, Moors, Arabia ...), but that has to wait for a later time. In this version I will only replace the UPs that have become obsolete with the mechanic changes.

^ I think Arabia and Persia's UPs can safely fall into that category.

What new Persian UP do you have in mind? How about "all Foreign Cores count as Historical during Stability Checks"?

Yep, that was my first idea too.

Oh, and I should write this down before I forget.

== Apadana Palace / Gate of All Nations ==
Requires Monarchy, Zoroastrianism
Obsoletes with Civil Service
+1 Free Specialist per Vassal, +1 Free Specialist

== Royal Road ==
Requires Masonry, Zoroastrianism
Obsoletes with Banking
-33% Maintenance cost in all cities on this Continent

I'm not sure about that UP. When I go for Persia's UHV, my biggest problem is city maintenance, not stability. I've had something like "free courthouse in a city after conquering it" in mind for a while.

^ See the Royal Road Wonder I proposed above.

Also, City Maintenance can be adjusted with hidden modifiers - it does not need to be an explicit UP.

I see. Although a UP giving Persia extra stability doesn't seem terribly useful for their UHV.
Have you ever played Persia without a stability UP?

But how can you know that without ever having played with the new stability mechanic?

Considering just how huge the land they need to grab is, I'm pretty sure their UP is a huge boon to them. When I did their UHV, my empire looked like it would've long since collapsed with any other civ, but I never went below Shaky thanks to that great UP.

I know everything :scan:. (That was a lie.)

Okay, I guess you guys are right.

They're not if you're interested in what they're saying.

Likewise.

When you consider that Persia will almost always have to conquer at least 10 cities to win the UHV, without the stability UP that would result in stability being at least 20 points lower. Which would turn them from stable / shaky to unstable / collapsing and the whole thing would fall apart.

I can't imagine Persia would be achievable if there wasn't some boost to stability, particularly given that you'll end up controlling four or five foreign cores.
