Current (SVN) development discussion thread

I did some runs for Japan -- game does slow down around turn 168 (barbarians make civs collapse), but it goes pass it just fine. Could not be a global issue therefore, must be game specific...

New commit:
- simplified the stability level change rules
- crises now only occur at the same time as a stability drops
- crises now only happen on drops from shaky to unstable (moderate crisis) or unstable to collapsing (severe crisis)
- new distribution of crisis effects on the remaining crisis types

Most relevantly, these changes mean there will be less crises overall, and the effects of many kinds of crises have been reduced.

A more detailed explanation will be in the stability guide soon.

New commit:
- modified the limit for collapse to core on several territorial crises
- increased the threshold for positive trade stability
- added a cap for trade stability

Would it be possible to make it so that conquers can't spawn on marsh tiles? I think you did this with jungle tiles a few months ago. I noticed this in my current Ethiopia game when Portugal got TC conquerors on the marsh 1N of Mbanza Congo and I couldn't proactively attack them with my D4 Askaris which was a little annoying.

I specifically removed this limitation again because otherwise it was possible for situations to occur where certain cities could not be targeted by conquerors at all anymore.

New commit:
- Italian core expands in the Industrial era
- Additional starting units for AI Turkey
- Reduced Turkey's unit production speed
- Reduced Arabia's unit production speed and their inclination to build units

Humans too.

New commit with various bugfixes.

New commit:

In Stability.py, at line 1307
if iCivicEconomy == con.iCivicCentralPlanning: CivicStability += 3
Shuld be
if iCivicEconomy == con.iCivicCentralPlanning: iCivicStability += 3
or else playing as soviet Russia is going to be a pain in the rear.
Spoiler :
And now back to lurking... sorry you won't hear much input from me, but I'm ashamed to admit that all I do most of the day nowadays is play your mod in Ctrl-Z mode, like some weird sort of addiction.

You're right, the fix will come with the next commit. And no need to apologize!

New commit:
- new Polish UP: Golden Liberty: additional food and commerce during golden ages
- new Argentine UP: Juntas: Great Generals can start Golden Ages
- new first Argentine UHV goal: experience two golden ages by 1930 AD
- new second Argentine UHV goal: have 25000 culture in Buenos Aires by 1960 AD
- new third Argentine UHV goal: experience five golden ages by 2000 AD
- the Mongols are now immune against stability penalties from city razing

I think UHV #1 and #3 of the Argentinian should be combined into one, and get another UHV.

Does the Mongol now can unlimitedly raze cities without penalties at all?

Suggestions? I like the two different deadlines and it should be challenging enough.

Yes. They're the Mongols.
