you could instead delete the eye and sow it shut by pulling the eyelid down unrigging the eyelid from the eyelid bone, rig to the head bones, and making a scar texture
Alright, update: seems like even the eyepatch can't solve the problem, because apparently for some reason now his other non-eye-patched eye starts to loll over a bit too much to the side, too; and, frankly, I don't think it's much use if the guy has two eyepatches. I'll see if I can go to one of my older saves and attempt what Ekmek suggestion - it was an option in the back of my mind, too, and it seems to be just as badass as having an eyepatch.
Alright, I uploaded my latest blend to Megauploads. I decided to remove the eyepatch, since if you fix the eyes... Oh well, patchy the pirate was fun while it lasted. Anyhow, thanks a lot for helping me out again! Feel free to do whatever you need to do to it.

Also, forgive me for my ignorance, especially since I have made a number of leaderheads already, but I don't know what skeleton swapping to "someone else" means.Does this have something to do with the animations?
Yes, re-import/edit/export is maybe help. (Is that skeleton swap? I didn't really understand that.)
