Rather unfunny IMHO, but the most annoying thing: Who'd compare a machine gun to a sniper rifle, seriously o_O?

Probably the same people who use the term "assault clip" with a straight face.

These self pitying "o we are so misunderstood" images are very strange from an interest group which remains essentially untouchable in American politics.

You seem to be under the impression the American public has a significant impact on that aspect of their government.

Nah. They just redefine poor so they can ask for more money.

Buy my needs is as great as the most deserving widow's that ever got money out of six different charities in one week for the death of the same husband. I don't need less than a deserving man: I need more. I don't eat less hearty than him; and I drink a lot more.

Abuses of the system are the pits at any economic level. The economic black hole you describe is however better than revolution and when our jobs are sent to China and the resulting poverty creates a need where there was little before, something is wrong a bit higher up. That and while the rich get richer in the US the Chinese who are building stuff we used to build for ourselves don't pay taxes here, but to a totalitarian government. So, we created a rich, greedy ultra nationalist giant and can't afford the military we'll need to oppose them because much of the tax base lost their jobs. The steel industry, garment industry, tool industry, televisions, radios and electronics, etc, etc, etc. All so some rich sons of guns could raise their bottom line and didn't care about the suffering they created in the nation that provides their security. What comes around goes around. Those guys are likely members of the 2% and when things for the workers get bad enough, too many living in tent cities while the rich are eating caviar on their new yachts, well historically how does that usually end? Or, when war does come with a rich, powerful, expansionist China, who will do the dying in opposition to them? The sons of rich or the people they disenfranchised while raising up a new enemy?

The US has worse problems than that lady abusing the system though she should be prosecuted, sure. So should a lot of people. Wouldn't it have been better if so many Americans hadn't lost their jobs? If they were employed rather than on the dole? What the right doesn't get is whether they work for the now much depleted private industry or are sucking the tax dollars dry they still get paid. Btw, this is a conservative Reagan voter talking. I'm now an independent conservative though.

That's no way to slice a pizza!

Something new, thanks Lohrenswald.

Look how much of the 6% is right on the cut off.

IIRC 92% of China's population is on one of the two big rivers or within 30 kilometers of the coast.

Lots of the 6% are on the cut off. So lets see, if only 1% live in the bit with only few red dots, and China has what, 1.3 billion people, that's 1.3 million. Not many at all. :dunno:

No, not at all. 1,300,000,000/100=13,000,000 13 million is still extremely low for such a vast territory, but it's the world compared to 1.3M.

Oh yes, and thank you. :)

I realise that may have sounded dry and perhaps rude. That was in no way my intention.

Compare that with a terrain map of China and you'll see there's a pretty good reason for that.

I guess they don't eat brown. Considering the number of people the green must be amazingly productive.

Not in the least! I'm not so full of myself that I mind being corrected when I'm wrong. The opposite, I do actually appreciate it because something is learned. By the way, realize is spelled with a z. ;)
