Market capitalization.

Market capitalization is just a fancy name for a straightforward concept: it is the market value of a company's outstanding shares. This figure is found by taking the stock price and multiplying it by the total number of shares outstanding.

Market capitalization.

I wonder how they define what country to assign what company to? These days with the complex accounting such as the "double Irish" it does not seem trivial to me. Or are they looking at where the shares are traded?

It's just the total market capitalisation of the stock markets. A Chinese company might decide to list itself in Hong Kong rather than Shanghai for one reason or another. In that case it counts under Hong Kong rather than China.

Also, in case it wasn't obvious, not all companies are listed on a stock market. Many are privately owned, and thus won't contribute to that map at all. E.g. state owned companies in China.

I think traded or the HQ. But you're right that creative accounting muddies the waters.

Its the beer. Lots of caps in loads of markets. Great stuff too, San Miguel and Red Horse, both fairly fresh and perfect for the tropics. :goodjob:

I personally like the locally made Colt 45. Good taste, stronger than Red Horse and cheaper than them all.

Had Beer Na Beer once and it tasted like dish soap.

I see that and I think of all the pizza, best in the world.

That's right. It's on land bordering the Mediterranean.
