DaNES I: At the Precipice

[d) use a bit of land you haven't legally even gained yet with a hostile population - here I was think america was a land of freedom and laws./QUOTE]

-biggest laugh the world has ever seen-

(speaking of Thy's America :))

France wishes to inquire the reasoning behind the recent German aggression (if there is one).

So you're saying that Germany feels like just going around and attacking people for no good reason and your alliance has no problem with it :p? (Hopes everyone is reading this :)).

No he had reason to. It involves Spain, the Entente and French lies.

As a quote: "WRONG!" France had concluded talks with Germany that they would not get involved, and swore off an immediate attack against Belgium. The Entente has stll yet to issue any formal declarations, and France is only at war with Germany at the moment (you guys are lacking in the declarations :p. I feel cheated- it wasn't a mass movement like with Spain :)).

Germany has strong opposition to these nations joining in such a manner that debases the value of the alliance. There is power in unity of action and adding these nations will simply serve to turn the alliance against each other as they cannot be said to have shown their commitment.

Greece agrees with Germany. Some secondary status may be acceptable until the nations prove themselves through committed wartime aid, however Greece cautions her allies against expanding a cooperative entity too much and too rapidly, as this serves to create faction within the entity.

Greece also wonders why France is complaining. Didn't you declare war on one of Germany's allies? Why are you confused?

Further, Greece discourages the alliance from picking Bermuda or Brussels. Neither is suitable, for a variety of reasons, whether it be convenience or proximity to conflict. Greece proposes the headquarters be located in a large metropolitan area safely removed from likely conflict or naval blockade (...like New York).

@Dis: First of all, it was a proposal, that assumed peace would be declared, and the land ceded. Second, logistics are largely (though not completely) irrelevant in an age when supplies can be airlifted in 1-2 days. Assuming a UN-sized complex, 20 square miles is more than sufficient space. But given the objections of my allies, there are definitely other options. Of course, diplomatic communiques don't always have the most realistic of plans. That's what orders are for.

@Dark: Spain declared war on the United States. It's in the first update. And even if it wasn't mentioned, Britain can't legally be at war without a declaration of Parliament. Still, those rules don't apply to France. Yet. ;)

Perhaps we should offer a 5 year temporary membership to the 4 proposed states. At the end of this term, member states can vote on their admittance.

The United States would be pleased to propose Vienna, Constantinople, or Philadelphia as alternate headquarters sites.

Decloak: What wonderful, wishful thinking! You seem to be ignoring the fact that all your heavy-lifters are zeppelins, which tend to be buffeted about by wind. :p Even modern military cargo-lifters don't fly into storms unless they're storm observation planes.

France wishes to inquire where Greece gets her information. While France did issue a threat to the Belgians to refrain from entering war, no declarations of war were ever issued. After that moment, secure talks with Germany had (as we thought) removed the need of French intervention in the war, and we had quite expressed our neutrality to the Germans. Which they took advantage of to attack a 'neutral' nation ;).

You, ever since you took that nation in PureNES and failed to show up.

Meh, I'm here now so shut it ;)

We wish to ask...will China honor her alliance?

OOC: CANADA IS AT PEACE WITH THE WORLD.

Just putting that out there.

Why?

NO ING STATUTE OF WESTMINSTER, or a TTL version thereof.

If I get attacked, there damn well better be a DoW, or I might just have to do leave Dominionship.

I think it was the vague mention of "burning Brussels" if any aggressive actions towards France were made that got them going.

*cough*WRONG!*cough*. I threatened to burn Brussels if Belgium attacked Spain, not if I was attacked :p. Get your propaganda right :). Not to mention I swore that off to Kal during talks ;).

I assure you. The only burning that will take place is the burning of Paris and Madrid.

And I assure you, Belgium will have nothing to do with it ;). I'm more scared of advandincg Brazilian troops than Belgium right now :).

I find it frustrating that you say Belgian troops will have nothing to do with your downfall. When I will contribute more to the war than any of my allies so far.

Also me attacking Spain was because Spain attacked America. You saying you would attack me is what you would have done if Germany had not invaded you.

You may have contributed more, but you have done nothing against France- Germany carried the offensive. And I still say that Thy had something to do with the Spanish attack- a single ship is sunk and all of a sudden he is entitled to take half an empire? And no, for the fifth time, I (thought I had) worked out an agreement with Germany where we would both have stayed neutral- if I could keep Germany out of the war, my part would have been fulfilled. I had no mentions of attacking Belgium in my last orders.
