Dawn of Colonization

ooc: AA you are being annoying and a pain in the ass.

Also i RP a Byzantine Diplomacy style: That the Byzantine Japanese Empire can never talk equally with Barbarians.

For now we want peace in the Chinese province region. So we call you to accept a confederence. If you wont accept it, Japan will recognize Tibetan Buddhism as the true Buddhist religion, and it will send part of it's income each turn to Tibet.

Also we never threaten to exterminate any religion. We only told them that they have two options:

1) Accept that Japan has freedom of Religion.
2) Dont accept and ''leave'' Japan to go to the afterlife.

From: Mongolia

Then we refuse and look forward to seeing how you get money from Japan to Tibet.

Also your recognizing Order Buddhism, a self declared pacifist religion that commits murder, as true, while you yourself say you are peaceful and plan to kill your own people, is only apt.

Thank you for making yourself clear as a liar and a hypocrite.

We Excommunicate you for what it is worth, though you have no Shadow Buddhists within your lands we urge none of our religious brethren to Emigrate to Japan. There they will only face potential persecution from a two faced government.

PS. We declare this discussion closed.

We dont care about your threats of excommunication. We have freedom of religion and we dont care about religion.

We recognize Tietan Buddhism as the true Buddhists.

Well, I wanted not to post more in this thread until something happened but well, I guess it is necessary to point out that I am calmed. I am calmed most times. And I was mostly calmed while I wrote that. I will not fall to that absurd coercion of yours, just to point out that...

I am afraid, sir, that we are only protecting our beloved neighbours from Navarrese unlawful invasion. I must tell you that, if you really think that in just twenty-five years a kingdom of thriving economy as Aragon was it is now under the rule of merely barbaric tribes, you should come personally to see it, as it seems that the long distance between your land and the provinces you're talking about it's so immense that information gets lost all along the way.

Unfortunately, Aragon has always had a strong nobility, and after the Civil War of the crown, which resulted in the split of Catalonia, Aragon and Valencia, they suffered internal disputes, and now there are three factions fighting for power. In spite of that poor situation, they are not in a too bad situation, as borders between them have been stable for several years now.

But, this split has made the factions weak before a Navarrese invasion, and their lack of confidence among them has lead to them sending each individually a praise for Catalan help before the Navarrese forces.

OOC: Take that :p

ooc: statements that you would leave the game are hardly the mark of a calmed man ;). Also my coercion was not absurd, I was merely pointing out how it was bad logic for you to convert only to face excommunication in an apparently vain attempt to get you to avoid unreasonableness, and to prevent the creation of some sort of personal animus within you against Mayor.

To the Principality of Catalonia
From the Patriarch of Jerusalem

Regardless of the precise situation in regards to the Aragonese Question, Catalonia's rhetoric betrays an incorrect and inflamatory attitude reflective of aspects of the mentality of the Cathar religion which you so rightly rejected.

Considering this rhetoric, and your direct statement that you would engage in conflict with Navarre should they occupy Aragon, we will consider Catalonia the instigator of an abominable war thus necessitating remedial measures to encourage correction and civil discourse between your two realms.

The Patriarch has no desire for such measures to occur, but he will call for the bell, book and candle if it comes to pass that Catalonia does not take every measure to ensure a peaceful solution to this conflict, and for so long as it is Catalonia that speaks of war when the situation has yet to be discussed at the negotiating table. This especially being so when soveriegnty of aragon is yet to be determined (considering both powers have sent forces to claim the territory for their own dominions) and it remains the domain of various petty Lords.

Well at least you aren't accusing the chat people of being venemous immoral swine anymore :p

The Kolkatan Empire would be happy to transport Japanese gold and goods to Tibet. For a small fee.

But we have already explained our reasons, we are acting on behalf of our brothers for more than three centuries. Those ties shall prevail to the circumstantial liaison to another power who unlawfully invades the same land where these brothers of ours reside. And, we have already stated that we are more than willing to negotiate with Navarre.

I'm afraid, your Sanctity that, apparently, mail is too slow over the waves of the Mediterranean Sea, for you seem to ignore the details involving this conflict. If you wished to further discuss this conflict, we suggest you to send either personal emissaries to gether all the details, or to come yourself or an embassy of the men who you think can better express your opinion, for this negotiation could end up being unproductive and, in these times, our country can't afford to lose time and efforts in useless endeavours or projects.

ooc: Who said I was calmed when I took that resolution? I said I was calmed when I wrote it. Although not completely, that's needless to say.

Trade Treaty Offer

The Kingdom of Jerusalem would like to extend its offer for a mercantile agreement to the various chinese states in light of Kolkatan silence on Jerusalems offer to allow it priveleged access to western goods in return for the exchange of eastern spices, and valuables granting such a state acess to a shorter and cheaper trade route than that which goes around the cape of good hope. This also coming with the same sort of trade agreement that we have with Milan in that both parties shall agree not to work against the others economic interests.

This offer is still open to Kolkata however, although we point out that we will only grant such trade agreements to a limited number of states at best due to its nature.

-

@ JoanK, ofc ofc, your still extant threat to reject the innocent Catalonian people and establish some other state is a sign of that. You really shouldn't leave Catalonia over such a trivial matter btw, adaptability is all the rage ;) (If worst comes to worst though, at least fill in a gap, western Africa and Eastern Europe come to mind, as does southern india to a lesser degree [with its dense provinces])

ooc: DT why you not say yes or no to our offer of a trade agreement we made earlier on this thread ???

We agree.

Japan, Office of the Emperor:

Emperor Hirohata:

Viceroy Mejji:

Shogun Tokugawa:

images-19.jpg

Shogun Tokugawa enters the office of Emperor Hirohata. There he saw Hirohata and Viceroy Mejji talk about the finacial policy of Japan. Tokugawa bows before the great Emperor.

Tokugawa: My Lord, those Barbarians who live in Mongolia want our nations to be equal in our diplomatic talks.

Hirohata: Are they crazy? Who whould dare to demand such things from the Empire!? Because we are the only Empire in the world. All other Rulers are Kings. We are Emperors. And a barbarian wants us to treat him like an equal!? Never!!!! If he was a Chinese, then i would have treated him with a more equal way. But he is not only Barbarian but also a Mongolian. The Mongols were the one who did huge genocides under the rule of Genghis Khan.

Tokugawa: What about the two religions?

Hirohata: As Emperor i should be above all of those religious things. Both a Christian Japanese, a Buddhist Japanese and a Confucian Japanese are all Japanese. Ignore them. If they make any more trouble, make sure that peace is restored. Now leave!!

Tokugawa: Yes Sir!!

So Tokugawa leaves and Hirohata stays alone with Mejji.

Hirohata: So Viceroy Mejji, we were saying something about Japanese economy.

Mejji: Yes my lord. Although we have some finacial problems, next turn year our Industry will create a huge boost in our economy, thanks to my policy.

Hirohata: Oh well, i dont know much of economics, so if you think that your policy will boost our economy, i will allow it.

Mejji: Thank you my Lord!

Hirohata: Now please leave. I wait Samurai Xin.

Mejji: Yes Sir!!

As Mejji left, Samurai Xin enters the office of the Emperor.

Samurai Xin:

imagesCASDLGUB.jpg

Hirohata: Xin, i heard that you wanted to tell me about the Army of Japan.

Xin: My Lord. I propose the creation of 5 Imperial Legions. We need to unify Japan. Without a strong army we wont be able to unite Japan and protect our nation. We also need to create a fort.

Hirohata: I agree with you. Now please leave.

Xin: Okay my Lord.

Me too. Son, can i have Vader back?

ooc: DT why you not say yes or no to our offer of a trade agreement we made earlier on this thread ???

Speaking of Trade, may we please have a explanation of that mechanic; I can't spot anything in detail in the first post. May we trade any distance, through any number of unclaimed lands or seas? Or do we need a border connection or safe passage through neighbouring lands etc.

Evan, King of Wales, was currently in his tent, observing a map of Oxford. This English settlement that holds a lair of knowledge might aid the King of Wales in his quest to turn his kingdom into a stronger power if he could capture the settlement. However John de Vere, 15th Earl of Oxford, was fortifying with a high number of bowmen and stone walls. Whatever the case the King of Wales hoped the glory and gain from this battle would overshadow the possible costs.

Another concern the King had was not of the front line war but of a notion beyond the Irish Sea in the land that the name came from. Mide was a possible friend for Wales: both Celtic Christian Kingdoms might make good allies hoped Evan. So he had set a letter to be sent to the fellow Celtic kingdom via horse riding messenger and then by a small merchant vassal. The letter went as followed:

To Fedlimid Keefe, High King of Mide

I greet thee with the most grandest of honour and most humble of piety. The Welsh are eager warriors of great strength. However they are but children in the eyes of God. We believe your people are defined by such terminology. As we are both Celtic Christian warriors let us honour this, for I send a request of not just a Non-Aggression Pact to thee but also a Defence Pact to demonstrate our honour. I also propose our priests seek meeting so that we can further spread the word of Jesus with the tactical use of missionaries. This may also aid our trade by allowing our merchants to travel with our holy men if it be the way of God’s will. Still: let us celebrate our piety first by honouring each other.

Honour and glory for all the Celtic peoples.

Evan from the royal family of the Hughes of Gwerclas who God titles as the King of the Celtic Kingdom of Wales.

To: Catalonia
From: Dual Kingdom of Navarre and Aquitaine

Rumors has reached us that you have issues with the orders we have given our troops and that you have mobilized your own levies. Our advisers urge us to see this as an act of war against our Kingdom. However, we decided to postpone such an drastic measure since this will only result in instability and unnecessary bloodshed.
We feel that the mobilization is a result of displeasure of our actions. Obviously, we don't care that we displease your peasant-nation but for the good of our people we have established this contact.

We understand that your problem lies with the fact that we have ordered our troops to move into Aragon, as you call it. We have heard that you call these orders unlawful for whatever reason. We are appointed king and anointed in the face of God and if our actions are unlawful how would you call the actions of mere plebeians, even though they presume to have the right to rule.

We believe that our Kingdom will only thrive in a stable region and therefore we make you the following proposal.
We will reroute our levies and express no further interest in the two Iberian provinces between our nations. In return, you will reroute your levies and express no further interest in those provinces.

We will end with the following warning. If you feel that you have been slighted by our actions or that your interests are damaged we urge you to contact us with words instead of weapons. Because you felt that you honor was attacked you; willfully threatened the stability in the region, risked an all out war which would resulted hundreds maybe thousands of deaths and the prosperity of our people. Next time you decide to undertake a similar action we will respond in kind.

By trade agreement I mean the EUIII style thing Kinich. Also why you not expand more, one province expansion is a bit... sparse.

I know, but I want to minimize risk... though, I suppose I could hold off on the fort for now & construct it the next update.

We believe the Danes are more in need of our assistance at this juncture and that it is in the interests of both Prussia and Sweden that there be a civilised presence at the entrance to the strait.

There is no evidence that the Danes require special assistance, and they have so far left the strait alone. In fact, it seems more likely that you wish to control Swedish markets. Your soon-to-be port in Hamburg makes your use for the strait rather limited...

Our objective as the civilized nation in Scandinavia is, after economic growth, is the unification and protection of the Swedish people. Your plan is detrimental to our objective and our right as Scandinavians to unify a Scandinavian nation.

It would be better for both our nations if you refrained from annexing Denmark. You may lead your people however you wish, but don't lead ours.

To Navarre
From Catalonia

We are sorry that our messenger did not reach you. A message was sent to you to explain you our reasons and to contact you for further negotiation.Luckily, it seems that we have been able to reach that common ground we were looking for without him. Although, that's a man lost for Catalonia, and as such we will mourn him tomorrow.

We agree on your terms, and we also wish to further extend it to the zone marked in green in the following map:
hg5Hq.png

On top of that, we would also like to sign a pact or treaty establishing that territory's national sovereignty, and an agreement between our nations to keep it unless we both agree to withdraw it. This is merely a first draft:

1. The Dual Kingdom of Navarre and Aquitaine and the Principality of Catalonia recognise the territories commanded from Huesca, Zaragoza and Teruel as a political entity neutral between both realms.

2. The Dual Kingdom of Navarre and Aquitaine and the Principality of Catalonia will respect the sovereignty of said territories by not attacking or invading a single one of them.

3. The Dual Kingdom of Navarre and Aquitaine and the Principality of Catalonia agree to preserve the sovereignty and independency of said region by all means available.

4. The Dual Kingdom of Navarre and Aquitaine and the Principality of Catalonia can only revoke this treaty by mutual agreement.
