to be fair, if that was the only one I had seen, I'd probably have stopped watching them too.

I feel like the text in the post (Not all roads lead to Rome. Who waits at the end of this path?) is both a historical clue and Firaxis making fun of everyone who thought the alternative leader would be a Roman Emperor. Not all alternative leaders are Roman... or Greek for that matter..
The sentence actually made me think Byzantine because second Rome. The video was definitely cut off. I wonder what it was about the third clue that made them cut it?
I got really excited when I read "Not all roads lead to Rome" in the OP. Without the actual video, that sentence made me think Inca.
“OMG why is India getting a new leader and not <insert civ>”I guess I can expect less negative YouTube comments this time... Only to be disappointed for still not using the restricted mode.

There are Byzantine peacock mosaics - any character we know of specifically associated with peacocks?
I thought it would be isabella of spain, considering firaxis is going full feminist with this expacI feel like the text in the post (Not all roads lead to Rome. I pick sarcastic comments about Chandragupta Maurya not being a woman.“OMG why is India getting a new leader and not <insert civ>”
“Wait, not a woman? As a feminist I’m offended!”
“The portrayal is politically incorrect! Western entertainment industry is white-washing once again!”
“Lazy Firaxis is inflating the expansion by giving us a leader instead of what could be a full 9th civ!”
Pick your poison.
Don't worry, we'll probably all call him Chandy or something. Now, can we speculate to the ability of this indian leader whom I will never be able to spell the name so I can't even bother to try ?

3 females (2 announced + one we know exist) out of 9 leaders is hardly "full feminist". Gods & Kings had 4 females out of 9 leaders (5 out of 10 if you count Isabella, which was released as DLC first then included in the expac), so it's even less feminist than the first expansion Civ V got. People are under this impression only because they started the reveal with two females in a row.
It's not just count, it's also relevance. I think one could argue pretty easily that Isabella is more important to Spanish history, or Boudica is more important to pre-saxon british celtic history, than Gitarja or Wilhelmina was to their respective histories.
Then again, G&K also included Dido who didn't even exist, so who knows.
Except for Gitarja, who, with help of Gajah Mada, started the masive expansion of the Majapahit Empire which eventually led to the unification of Nusantara, although that was finished under reign of Hayam Wuruk, Gitarja's son. It's not just count, it's also relevance.
