My last Civ was Civ 2-u could delete units and get production points-can u do that in civ4?
Can u sell buildings-it doesnt look like it

No and no. I'm not sure why they did away with the Hammers for disbanding thing. As for buildings, it doesn't really matter now since they don't cost you anything in maintenance anymore.

<WildGuess> Possibly to keep players from using units as a kind of production transfer medium, like the old caravans, to rush buildings. </WildGuess> I used to do that in Civ III sometimes, and it always felt kind of creepy from a role-playing POV. Exploity too.

"Ah, Captain Sternhalma -- so good to see your fine flotilla of battleships. Right, men: start tearing them down for scrap iron! We must build this hydroelectric plant with the greatest rapidity."

Recycling manufactured goods has been done a fair bit in the past, especially during wartime but it was defiently an exploit in Civ3. My outlying cities, completing crippled by corruption, would simply be sent a stream of units from my core cities and within a few turns they'd have libraries, courthouses, temples, etc, etc and all with production of 1.
