DGIT # 3 - The Emperor Level Strikes Back

Thanks Oblivion. I'm not sure if we'll need it, since we're so close to end game but if you'd like to join up go reply over there.:)

I should be the last person complaining about a game stall, but we seem to have hit a bit of a snag here.

Oh, man, I goofed up. I needed some time off (lots of RL stuff to do) until tomorrow, but I looked at the wrong week on my calander. :( According to my sig, I was supposed to be back last week, and I just got done today. I

My apologies...

Soon, all I have left to do college-wise is buy my books and such.

Awesome... have you played a turn set yet? If not, go ahead and ask the team for direction on how to take your 20... or are we doing 10 now??

Yes, I've played a turn or two in this SG. :p

I'm back in the land of the $1.25 coke. When a beer and a coke cost the same, well frankly a lot more beer is drunk than normal... :D

A little more delay on SCs part, and I may have been able to play my spot. :p Good turns guys. Its seems the AI is starting to pull ahead tech-wise. Should we start shoring up some gold piles to get some trading going? Feudalism will be a strong tech to trade with...

Have we switched governments yet? Any thoughts? Quick wars with Republic or domination with Monarchy?

When did I claim the game?

Well, since it seems I HAVE, I might as well go play it. Consider this a got it.

Bleh.
We gotta start enforcing a stricter pickup and play policy if we don't want this game to crash during the summer.
We can lax up later on, but right now it seems if we don't force the game to move, it simply won't.

Gah! I interpreted this as a got it and playing turns. I could have snuck in my turn!

Oh well. I'll catch it next time around. Go to it SC!

SmellinCoffee came on tonight and said he needs to be skipped. Has College Prep to take care off. Umm... he can come on and refute me if I'm wrong, but I think we should consider him on autoskip until he says otherwise. So the roster is down to 6 right now. I don't think we'll need a replacement player until he says he won't be back for longer then expected. I guess that means I'm up. TO help prevent this game from dragging any longer, I'll play 10 tonight... but Simpsons comes first.

PS - Oblivion, empty some of your private Messages.:p

Turn 0 (270BC) - Turn 114. How do we always get so out of balance on the turns?! I'll play til turn 120, and pass it off then.
MM a bit.
Kick France and Mongolia out of our lands.
Switch Calcutta, Bombay, Banglore, and Madras to Marketplaces.
Notice we're still in Despotism, with a religious civ, and we have Republic. Bite the bullet, and revolt. Pull 2 turns... I miss 1 turn anarchy.
Our military is strongest in the world right now. After the anarchy I'm going to build mainly infra with only light unit builds.
We have no more city site. None. After this next settler builds in Delhi, I'm going to switch to marketplace, and let it grow.

IBT

Chichen Izta completes The Great Wall.
French switch to Temple of Art

Turn 1(250BC)
Not much. Just a few worker turns.

IBT
Anarchy ends, and we switch to Republic.
Iro start on The Statue of Zeus

Turn 2 (230BC)
Change Bangel from a 4th worker city to a harbor.
Change Trondheim from 3rd worker city to courthouse.
Leave other 2 cities making workers.
MM to get the most out of our cities. I think it's time for the capitol to be shut off as a factory, or very close. Will pump out another settler or 2 on my watch, then suggest we switch.
Why is Park Avenue building a spearman without a barracks? Tisk, tisk. Switch to Barracks

IBT
Oops. Calcutta riots. Scroll ahead to make sure no one else does. Don't know how I missed that.

Turn 3 (210BC)
MM a bit. No trade, no unit moves, just some worker action.

IBT
forest chop in Bombay helps marketplace along.
Delhi Settler - > Marketplace
Lahore worker - > marketplace
Jaipur Temple - > barracks

Turn 4 (190BC)
worker actions.
No trade, just some more MMing.

IBT
forest chop in jaipur
Ottomans and Iroquois sign a MA against Persia!!! They'll probably be gone soon.

Turn 5 (170BC)
Worker actions and MMing again. Still no trades.

IBT
Hyderabad worker - > worker --- This City should maintain a worker every 5 turns at it's current size, but you have to move a citizen from the lake to a hill on growth.
Engineering comes around, but we can't afford it.. we're lossing gold at a min sci run! Need those marketplaces to build to have any hope. We may want to start a short war with the Iroquois just to eat up some units, and they are our closest neighbors. Should do it soon... after my turns, need to be disccused.

Turn 6 (150BC)
Notice we have 3 other settlers just forted in Delhi, doing nothing. so the one I just built 2 turns ago joins Delhi, and 30 shields are wasted. My fault for not switching over sooner.

End notes:
We should go to war with the Iroquois, and take out their 3 cities that are close to us, maybe going as far west as Grand River. Would expand us nicely, and they're already at war, so those cities are going to be easy pickings. Moved several stacks of horseman towards the Iroquios lands. They should fall pretty quickly with the assult force moving towards them, and the fact they're already going into it with Persia.

We need to build Libraries in Delhi, Madras, and Bombay as soon as they finish their marketplaces. We don't have much of a chance for 50 turn gambits with our current ech situation. Those libs, with our marketplaces being built during the next leaders watch will help greatly.

Lets keep the pace going. I suggest starting to enforce a 24/72 rule. This game will stop if we don't keep it moving quickly.

If you see tundra with a mine on it that means I chopped a forest. Don't try replanting and chopping, it won't do anything.

PLEASE!!!! Check the turn number before you pass it on. Try to keep it on even 10's.

No point in photos, nothing changed.;)

OK, i might have just poadched Blas's turn, but you can take it next if that is the case. I am unsure of the roster.

Inherited Turn: 150 BC

Switch Reykjavik from Barracks to temple.
Everything else looks good.

Turn 1: 130 BC

Stockholm Temple - FP
I know we haven't discussed this yet, so that can be vetoed. Due in 67 turns.
Ottomans get ToA. Ouch, Iroqouis get SoZ. Need to hit them before ACs. They don't have horses, so no MWs. From the map, i only see them having one source of ivory in a town bordering us. We hit that, no more ACs.

Turn 2: 110 BC

See a reg Iro sword. Why doesn't the AI build barracks? Thats why Sun Tzu's is so fearsome in AIs hands..

Turn 3: 90 BC

Boardwalk finishes harbour.
Declare on Iroqouis.

Tonawanda:

First Horseman charges in, loses a hp to a 'pult, takes a hp off a spear, then retreats.
Second Horseman loses one hp, but kills a full health reg spear.
Third Horseman kills 2 hp Spear from earlier, losing 2 hp.
Fourth Horseman kills reg warrior, but is redlined.
Capture Tonawanda, with a catapult, and 3 slaves (worker and settler).
I think that is his only ivory gone, so no ACs *i think*

Use the catapult we just stole on a swordsman, taking off a hp. Kill it with a horse.

Oil Springs:

First Horseman retreats doing no damage.
Second Horseman kills spear no damage.
Third Horseman loses 2 hp, but kills spear and promotes to elite, capturing the city. Sword nearby.

Mauch Chunk:

First Horseman dies doing no damage. Dam its on a hill.
Second Horseman dies doing 2 damage but spear is now vet.
Third Horseman is redlined but kills 2 hp vet spear.
Fourth Horseman loses to vet spear, now elite.
Fifth spear kills elite spear and we capture it.

After losing a couple of horseman and capturing three cities, our income has gone from +1 gpt to +21 gpt.

Turn 4: 70 BC

Kill Iro Sword i saw last turn. Next city up is Grand River, which will give us
a fourth luxury, incense.

Turn 5: 50 BC

Iron is connected. Our Palace gets a bigger roof. Our elite archer up north kills
a Iro archer on defense. No leader.
Park Avenue Barracks-Horseman
The people are happy so the clown in Calcutta is sacked and we hire a taxman.

Turn 6: 30 BC

Madras Market-Horseman. I change it from 11 shields, growth in 9, to 10 shields, growth in 6. We get the horseman in the same time. Keep it on 10 shields and maximise growth when you want horsies from it.

Elite archer kills spear up north, no dice on the leader.
Iros are tearing through Persia.
Maya and Mongols sign a Military alliance against Persia.
Calcutta needs a clown again.

Turn 7: 10 BC

Iro Archer retreats our horsie.
Bombay Market-Horse
Delhi Market-Barracks
Calcutta Market-Horse

Calcutta switches to taxman again.

Attack yellowlined archer with elite horse and lose (?)
Kill it with a another horse.
Lose 2 horses attacking Iro sword (?)
Kill it finally. Thats the Grand River force in disarray.

Turn 8: 10 AD

Tonawanda worker-worker.
French complete Lighthouse.
Persia down to 2 cities.

Turn 9: 30 AD

Income is +61 gpt. I turn Science up from 10% to 40% and Feudalism is in 11 turns at -8 gpt. Much better.
Madras Horse-Horse

Turn 10: 50 AD

Delhi is in WLTK day.

Trondheim Courthouse-Market
Bangalore Market-Horse
Calcutta Horse-Temple
Hyderabad Worker-Worker
Bombay Horse-Horse

Mayans complete Hanging Gardens

Grand River:

First Horseman kills spear but is yellowlined. It is on a hill btw, size 7.
Second Horseman kills spear, no damage. Another spear underneath.
Third Horseman dies, spear no damage.
Fourth Horseman yellowlines spear then dies, spear promotes to vet. Sword next.
Fifth Horseman dies to sword, doing one damage. Back to yellow spear.
Sixth Horseman dies, spear is now elite, 2 hp left.
Seventh Horseman kills elite spear, no damage. Sword now.
Eigth Horseman kills sword, no damage. Still a warrior...
Ninth Horseman kills Warrior and takes city, O dear, stack of Archers next to city.
Kill a sword by Grand River.

We will lose Grand River next turn, so i make peace with Iro. we get Monotheism for 85 gold.

Taking that Incense means lux down to 20% and Calcutta loses the clown.
Science goes up to 50%, Feudalism in 7 at -3 gpt.

Decide to switch FP from Stockholm to Madras, due in 18. Stockholm changes to barracks in 3. Location doesn't matter, the faster we get it the better.

Why does Xerses always seem to get himself in trouble in this game?

Nice job Alerum and Oblivion. Some nice MM moves by Alerum and fine warring as usual by Oblivion, our resident warmonger :D. A fine time to revolt too.

The roster: Blas is up.
1)alerum68
2)-Oblivion- <-- Just played
3)Blasphemous <-- UP
4)SolarKnight <-- On Deck
5)SandrockLQ
6)SpikeIt
