DGIT # 3 - The Emperor Level Strikes Back

I got it :)

Dont worry, I am finishing off the turns as we speak, only a few more to go.

are we not going on a 48/72 rotation?

(will have the turnlog up soon, just putting the finishing touches on)

Pre - Turn thoughts: -

Tech situation:-

up currency on the french, iroqouis, maya, scandinavians and mongolia.

up currency, construction, philosophy and polytheism on the persians.

down monotheism on the ottomans.

Diplomatic Situation:-

we are at peace with all contacts but the scandinavians, the only other war known to us is between persia and the iroquois.

the war must be hammering the persians as they are the most backward nation we know (at the moment).

we have embassies with the vikings and iroqouis only.

Military Situation:-

we are strong against everyone but the iroqouis and the maya who we are even against.

we have 11 horsemen, the vikings have 3 cities, so if we want 4 per city, then we need only 1 more, but to cover our backs, and in case we end up in some kind of

dogpile, i'm going to take our number up to at least 18, so we have some in reserve, and will continue producing them during the conflict.

Plans:-

To build up our forces to finish scandinavia, and to do as much damage to them as possible during my turns.

I moved an archer out of boardwalk to distract the warrior threatening our worker, and move the worker to town.

here we go:-

Turn 1 650 BC: We have too many ai settler pairs in our territory, anyone would think they were trying to steal our holy lands!! :p

Maya and Iroqouis begin ToA.

Archer returns to boardwalk.

no horses due for at least two turns, time to regroup and prepare to march on the enemy then.

Attack oslo with vet horse for kicks and the city is destroyed, the spear dies redlining our horse, as many horses as possible are rallied on the mountains near the enemy

capital and are ordered to rest as many are injured, the enemy will pay in kind for the blood they spilled.

Turn 2 630 BC:

Ottomans kick our archer out of thier territory, we were just leaving anyway man :p.

Delhi: Settler -> Settler.

Mongols start collossus.

Curragh sinks (damn rng).

kill a viking spear on mountain, redlining 2 horses.

we are within spitting distance of the viking capital.

Turn 3 610 BC:

cue "command and conquer" reinforcements have arrived, as horsemen finish in calcutta.

jaipur: worker -> Temple.

mongols begin ToA.

spear in viking capital refuses to die after 2 vet horses and one injured vet horse are killed attacking, more on the way as we speak though.

Madras: horse -> horse.

Bangalore: horse -> horse.

Lahore: temple -> warrior

think we may lose lahore briefly, the vikings ave dropped a lone archer right next to the city, and there is nothing i can do about it.

Turn 4 590 BC:

lose lahore as expected, but we have troops at the ready to re capture it.

kill one spear guarding viking capital.
lose one vet horse in the process and promote one to elite.

Turn 5 570 BC:

Bombay: horse -> horse.
bengal: warrior -> Barracks.

Stockholm is ours, the spear fell like a house of cards this time :hammer:

lahore is then recaptured with no losses.

Turn 6 550 BC:

Delhi: Settler -> Settler.

Turn 7 530 BC:

Hyderabad: Worker -> Warrior.

move horsemen into position near final viking city.

Turn 8 510 BC:

Madras: horse -> horse.
calcutta: horse -> horse.

troops lined up outside reykjavik

Turn 9 490 BC:

Bangalore: horse -> horse.

french begin the lighthouse.

our horses storm the city and capture it flawlessly, gaining a slave in the process.

victory.JPG

Turn 10 470 BC:

Bombay : horse -> horse

euphoria races through the land on hearing the news of our recent conquest, so great are the celebrations that our palace expands for the first time in our history.

ottos start hanging gardens.

iros finish collosus.

french start great wall and toa

mongols start great lighthouse.

Summary:

the vikings are dead, they never really stood a chance against us, who is next?

Good luck to the next player.

SK.

Nice turns SK! This is great... destroyed my favorite civ in the game, and Christ hasn't even been born!

5)SandrockLQ
6)SpikeIt
7)Smellincoffe

Looks like Sandrock is up!

Nice Job :hammer:
Start building up infrastructure maybe, then next war when we get knights? Maybe against Ottomans, i don't like a neighbour with Sipahi.

Sandrock, build/rush a temple at Stockholm. We need that iron in our territory. Don't have any as of yet.

I'm back!
Germany was great.
Good job on eradicating those smelly ol' Vikes. From the moment I saw the turnlog where they were discovered I knew they would have to be eradicated... It seems the group shares my lust for the blood of the first encountered civ. :goodjob:
Skip me again, I'll be too busy in teh coming days to propely play... So much to catch up on. :'(

I got it. Sorry I've been AWOL but work is getting worse before its getting better. I should have this played by the end of day Thursday. If anyone wants to chime in, you have all day Wednesday to post.

Hmmm... Seeing the speed this is going, no need to skip me after all...
I've already cleared up enough business to start playing on my computer again... :D

Iroquois up Monarchy, they are broke
France down Republic but have a paltry 15 gold
Mongols are even with us.

I basically focused on unti production. I wasn't to sure if we wante to dial down the research to minimum, so we can decide that now. We have a sizeable army of horseman now, but our defenses have me somewhat worried.

We should be ok if we get that iron though.

Good choice sticking with unit building for now... horseman = Elephants = Middle Age Fun. Will look at the save to make sure, but I think we should turn research down and start buying our techs. Has someone built the Great Lib. Can we capture it?;)

Okey, give him 24 hours approximately. Then you can take it Alerum.

I can take SCs place in RW if thats a problem. I was in that at the start, but i appear to have forgotten about it with some RL pressures. I appear to have played the first turn by the looks of things. Thats odd, i don't even remember :lol:

The offer is there, but you may want to wait for SC.
