DLL - Various Mod Components

I'm so confused, if I DL the various mod components thing, can I still download your other mods? most of them say that vmc is required, so if I want to use that mod do I have to have vmc installed? it says that Only one mod with a replacement DLL may be active at a time. how do I know which ones have a replacement DLL? (whatever that is :))
Only the "DLL - Various mod components" mod itself contains a DLL file - all the other mods draw on this mod but don't contain a DLL file themself. Therefore, you need to download the DLL - Various mod components mod and then download any combination of the other mods to activate what features you want to be active.

Ok so the vmc doesn't do anything by itself, just enables support for other mods, correct? thank you. Do I just put every file to the Mods folder including the vmc?

So are the various mod components mods compatible with community patch?

When you download the mods from the homepage, they come as compressed files (zip I think), so extract each mod into the MODS folder in your game library - including the VMC. Then activate them in the MODS menu in the game.

As for compatibility with community patch, I take it from whowards message that some are, others not. I reckon the VMC itself is, but I don't use community patch myself, so can't say for sure.

Ok, thanks

I get this message, what do I do?

Change archiving program and/or re-download the zip.

I'm new to this site and I registered just for two reasons. First, to thank whoward69! And second, to ask a question. I'm new to this game and to mods. I'm using this mod in combination with the Smart AI mod.
In the first post it says: NOTE: Most of these options must be enabled by another mod that also provides the UI for them and/or additional Lua coding. The following Pick'N'Mix mods use features of the DLL
What does this mean? That I have to install and activate all those mods seperately to get all the options mentioned in the first post?

Hey guys, wondering if someone can help me out
I'm probably doing something wrong that's very obvious, but whenever I try and enable the DLL mod, I get a message saying 'This version of the game is not compatible with the mod'. I'm running G&K, BNW, and all the DLC, version 1.0.3.144 on Mac via Steam. I'm just curious as to whether I've missed something during set up, whether the Mac version is behind the PC version (as often happens), whether I need to wait for a new version of the Mod, or whether the issue is the Mac itself!
As I say, it's probably something obvious, but I'd appreciate any help all the same

If you look back through this thread to around April of 2013 you will see that it is not compatible with MACs. I assume this is because the MAC version of CIV is different than the PC version since they are two completely different operating systems. I doubt if anything has changed.

Ah, that's a shame, but thank you anyway! I don't suppose there's anything I can do to get it to work on Mac, or is it a lost cause?

Only by having a dual boot Windows installation, or using a Windows virtual machine (though your performance will likely suffer greatly in the latter case).

And if you bought the Appstore version instead of the Steam version, you'll need to also buy the Steam version of CiV. :( However, Steam will let you install on multiple platforms.

i updated to v53 when i start a map now it's full revealed is it supposed to do that??

nvm - the tiles overhaul mod was causing it.

Is anyone or has anyone reported a bug that's causing there to be "no sea trade routes available"? I'm unable to establish any trade routes over sea and cargo ships show they have a range of -43,457 or some crazy number - but always negative.

It happened for the first time on the previous game I was playing and I was able to fix it by selling the Harbor in my port cities. Now I'm playing a new game and it happened again except I don't have any Harbors (don't even have the tech for it yet).

This may not exactly have anything to do with this fantastic mod - I've been using it for over a year now (currently using v53) and this is the first time I've experienced something like this - (and thank you whoward, I may name my firstborn after you), but I disabled every mod except this one and it still persists. Regardless of whether it has anything to do with this mod or not, has anyone ever even heard of this bug before? I've tried finding it on forums and over google many times and have come up with nothing. I'd appreciate it some info if someone has any. Thanks!

Edit: Well, this is odd. So, I enabled IGE to try and test a few things out to see if I could fix it, and this time -adding- a Harbor to my cities allowed me to once again establish sea trade routes. Attaching two screenshots from before/after. Note the Range.

i was using this mod today and had no trouble with sea routes. 1 of my cities was on the other side of the map after i married a city state and had no trouble making a route.

Yeah, it's the oddest thing. Like I said, I'm not blaming the bug on this mod - I don't see how this mod could even cause that, but it appears to only happen when I have it on. I even turned off all the features that effect Trade Units and it still happens.

Another weird thing, it seems to happen at a random point in the game. My previous game I had already established multiple sea trade routes when it occurred, and I was able to fix it by deleting Harbors from my coastal cities. Now, in this new game, it's early on and I already have 2 sea trade routes going (one from the Colossal) and it happened. And oddly enough, adding Harbors fixed it.

I don't know what's going on, and I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong place maybe, but from what I can gather, it seems to be some freak bug that's possibly related to this mod. I've been trying to replicate it with no mods running in mock games using Really Advanced Setup and IGE, but to no avail. The only constant between the games where it's happening is that I'm playing as England and on Immortal. I wonder if the +2 Naval Movement bonus for England is applying to sea trade routes and screwing it up somehow?
