DMI VII - Team BtS

I get the feeling we need to beeline nukes.... :nuke:

Or get a nice strike force on hand :)

Ok, this will be hard..... but we should have 200 turns before Capac goes culture ( :please: ) ( another BtS thing that our dear competing team don't have to face :gripe: ). But we need a careful planning from now on.

I still think that the best idea is to indispose Louis vs HC , a thing that is somehow dificultaded by the small fact that we are the red lantern of the game ATM  or to beeline nukes as refar pointed

But for now we have to make a really agressive settling and to make a very precise game. BTW any ideas of how to deal with this ?

Ok, 5 turns in and there's a major decision. I was going to switch to OR as rolo and refar suggested, but the problem is that we have to choose which religion.

Converting to Buddhism seems like the only good choice for + religion mods with France.

Capac switched to free speech. The save is attached if anyone wants to take a look, but not a whole lot has changed.

I'd agree - go ahead for the Sitting God ;)

Yea... This was a (slight and barely noticeable :mischief:) gap in the go OR plan...

Buddhism makes sense.

Started Redeploying some troops from Washington's chokepoint to Louie's.

There were 2 trades here: I agreed to give Louie fish for bananas then agreed to give Washington corn for sugar without thinking. That second one was canceled asap, but the damage was done

Education>Banking, the only trades were bad, education for one 700ish beaker tech like theology and optics, and it would be trading to izz or washington

finally switched to buddhism here too. Capac switched to free speech so if there was ever a doubt he was going for culture, it's gone

switched to OR and start building missionaries. stayed in slavery in case there was an emergency and we had to whip and army together. Buddhism spread to Rostov naturally.

agreed to trade Capac rice for fur

Louie switched to emancipation, which is kind of annoying but we're good on happy faces now

Capac demanded a cow, and I graciously (read  ) gave our Incan overlords what they wanted. This was a tough choice because the plan was to antagonize him, but it'd be very hard to fight off the Inca behemoth now. I'm not sure if this was the right choice but risking a war with the Inca didn't seem worth it at this point.

The AP voted for open borders between all members, I voted yes with all 21 of 450 votes. I don't remember correctly and that screenshot is missing but I believe Louie had enough votes to carry the motion by himself.

Mongolia, of all civs, captured the barbarian city on the isthmus between us and Louis. He has open borders with Louie so it's no longer a barrier to colonization (if it ever really was). Izz built the Jewish shrine this turn.

Banking>Gunpowder, no trades available

denied America's request to stop trading with Mongolia

Thebes is stagnant at the unhappy limit with the FP due next turn.

Expeditionary Force being sent to the isthmus with settler

conversion is coming along well enough for having started 5 turns late.

lurkers comment:

Hey, ya know what would be fun? If Huayna got his hands on Hinduism, and managed to spread them to those three cities... :D

Could probably play - though I still have one 'got it' pending with the PH-11.
We'll see which side the wind blows @work today ;)

To set it plainly - got it, but skip me if nothing new appears in the next 24 :D

Played until the GPowder discovery - expect my report later today :scan:

Poor, poor game of ours...

I don't know how is it going for the other teams - still they seem to be in a lesser trouble situation

Played eight, until we hit the Powder.

Basically, some very depressing things happened around the world. Louis managed to get the SoL, HC got the Kremlin. All this while we were on the Gunpowder :crazyeye:

I canceled the "deal" with HC as Trieste mentionned - no need to strengthen the b@$tard even more.

Basically, I spread the Buddha quite a bit, while going for some new lands.

Here are our new cities:

Notice the Kublai city defender (well, half of it)

Nice one, still needs some heavy trees hacking & slashing.

Any ideas of how to deal with the situation are welcomed. Emancipation starts to give a hit into our happiness - we will get the dye/theatre combo soon, still it's a potential worry.

Here is the tech situation :

I would go Printing Press and head for Democracy. Let's try to survive first, while rexing everything around. We will need twice our man force in workers to hack & improve every land available. I still think we can overhelm it with the huge living space of ours - still if HC manages to reach 3 legends we are toasted - need artillery or nukes and a great expeditionary force to manage it.

Sorry not to be of a great help - I've never been in such a precarious situation :nuke:

i think i'm up so this is a got it.

Pawelo, looks like some good turns.

i'm like you in that i've never been in a hole so deep ( well not one that i've tried to get out of) but we've still got quite a bit of land to develop so if we can stop HC we may still be able to pull the cat out of the bag
:crazyeye:

Sorry about this but it will be a very short report due to RL pressures

Checking the save showed we hadn’t revolted to Merc, I thought about this for a while and couldn’t think why not so I revolted, although the commerce went down. The free specialists ensured that PP would still be in 14 turns.

The rest of the turns consisted of spreading Buddism to as many cities as I can and building settlers and workers and not forgetting general button pushing.

We took a minor diplo hit with KK due to a random event

Vladivostok was founded in 1802AD and two more settlers have been built, I was intending to found one city on the north coast and one on the south, both would have food resources for quick growth although the southern city would need the rice cleared of Jungle.

We lost one pasture to enemy infiltrators in the last turn and this will need to be replaced

In 1808AD Louis and Izzy decided they didn’t like Wash and Hatty and declared war, Louis had traversed our lands with his cavalry so I would suggest that most of the fighting will be around the eastern chokepoint, phoney war anyone for the Diplo Points? risky but perhaps worth it.

1810AD and PP was discovered, where too next, Lib?

we are still in a hole and these wern't my greatest turns.

We're slowly pointing out the nose out of our hole :)

Hey, those weren't bad turns Ad Hoc!
I love PP and the effect of it while running CE

I strongly advise heading for Democracy, for the Emancipation. I remember how hard it was striking a few turns later, it must be beating us to the ground by now (or will soon be).

As Bindamel failed to got it ( probably didn't noticed that he was up.... ) , Refar is the man in charge

And a roster:

1. r_rolo1 On deck
2. Trieste
3. pawelo
4. Ad Hoc just played
5. Bindamel skipped
6. Refar UP

P.S @ Refar & pawelo

Where are your LHC games ? :p I'm having a blast with this one: 1900ishs in a 150 year war, no friends in the world , a SSE aiming for space :crazyeye: .... a quiet game

Got it, will play monday (in the morning, i hope.)

@LHC... I did not started the Rameses game yet  Still not done with Toku... Those modern wars are a huge pain... i manage to play 3, at most 5 turns in one session... :crazyeye:

@rolo

After my Wang decomposure - yep, non reported abandon - I was going to stop awhile. Still, Rammy is too much a temptation, especially with marble & stone around ;)
