DMI XIV - The Code of Junil (FfH)

Well, for now I would refrain from attacking Garrim, as he is friendly with us - and no threat at all, boxed in as he is. I think we should build up, finish off the Doviello remnants and then turn on Valledia.

Imhotep

Lurking Comment: Attacking Valledia will give no angels as she is following the FoL religion,

Well, if some of Valledia's cities have RoK or Order in them, we will get some angels from kill... I mean, welcoming some of the units produced in these cities to our fold.

So, I played 20 turns. Charadon and his barbaric people are eliminated from the face of Erebus. The only setback was losing an Angel at 95% odds, good thing it wasn't Basium whom we lost.

We are 4 turns away from Rage and the Fireball-throwing Seraphs. Basium and Chalid are currently in Naggarond, a city that experiences severe cultural pressure from Kuriotates. Since Cardith refuses to stop the enroachment, we suspect that he's being secretly corrupted by the Calabim. Maybe we should eliminate the only Kurio city, although it's quite well defended.

I'm alarmed at the fact that our army is so small. We should spread Empyrean in our conquered cities and build Rathas in them, not only to increase our army, but to stop the AI stacks with the power of Blinding Light.

We don't know who leads the Calabim (they founded Ashen Veil, while all of their cities worship the Overlords). If it's Alexis, then I guess we may see her converting to AV and summoning Hyborem sometime due to religion weights, but if it's Flauros, Hybo won't appear in the game at all. Overall, only 2 out of 7 initial starting civs were Evil, which is a disappoinment.

Acheron spawned on our continent. Also, notice Ring of Carcer in the Luchuirp territory.

:help:

All right, now I'm clueless. Please advise my next course/s of action. :D

From Wolf's report, I think "rebuild" will be what I'll be doing in my turn.

Screw it, it's a builders' turnset, how can I possibly screw up the game?
Oh, by starting a wonder, that's what!

***

Time for a more careless hyooman to take the helm. Unlike anyone who thinks like an angel, he approaches empire management with a sort of devil-may-care attitude. Build this build that. Learn this research that.

During his reign until Turn 300, the Banorian team learned Rage, Math, Engineering and Taxation. Guilds is currently in progress for improved workshops.

Khazad adopt Republic, but Bannor export Fur to the Mercurians to balance out the citizens' clamor to join the Republic. Shall we adopt Republic now? Perhaps... but lazy as he is, the ruler will leave that to his successor... if there is any. But he will make sure that he will rule forever. If he can.

Just as he convinced Bannor to start researching Engineering, the Luchirp complete the Guild of Hammers. So much for his well-made-plans. (Though he didn't actually make them, one of his predecessors did.)

Floundering in despair inside the royal library, the ruler happens upon a treasure map... he immediately commissions a Caravel and orders a brave adventurer Angel to take the helm. After outfitting the vessel with improved cargo space and longshore crew, the ship set off for the high seas. As of now, the poor Angel is still lost at sea, but fortunately going ever closer to the treasure island. (It's on an island at the eastern coast of the continent.)

Hungry for battle, the ruler spent years spreading his religion of violence with Ecclesiasticals while building military units such as Ratha, Catapult and Champion. Some Vicar were also hired for army healing. (Unfortunately, he will not live to see the war taking place.)

Realizing that the so-called allies are really being a pain in the rear and taking some good Basium land, the ruler took some time off to order up some Carnivals and Pagan Temples to attract Bannor, Kuriotate and other citizens to Basiumland. Unfortunately, the move hasn't worked so well. It may even affect his ill-advised plan to build a City of Slums at the southernmost city.

The ruler conveniently ignored the call of the heavens, even though he was granted about fourteen angels as bodyguards, he ordered them to just sit around and guard the border city along with the Ratha, Catapults and Champions.

War is raging between the Khazad and Kuriotates. They ask the Banorians to join but both are declined by the ruler. Kurio also demand a gift, which was also declined. Now they are just cautious to us.

Alexis is founder of that evil religion. She's now preparing for war (WHEEOHRN). Likely target is Garrim Gyr. She wouldn't dare attack the Banorian team with those 4-attack pathetic units, the ruler thought, getting all complacent about his own security.

During his rule, the ruler was told of a bad omen that prevented spellcasting for an unbearably long time, perhaps a curse cast by a rival civilization. The ruler ignored this sign and went to feast on his royal dinner. Unfortunately, he perished shortly after the meal. Some say a rival poisoned him. Others say he just choked on a slice of ham he failed to chew properly.

Regardless, life went on as if nothing happened. A new ruler is about to reign, much to the delight of the Banorian citizens. An appropriate phrase for this joyous event is, "thank heavens".

Alexis is quite obviously a she. And FfH AI's can't understand all that cargo promotion business, and are very bad at naval warfare, I doubt that she'll do anything of note.

@Lone Wolf: I really thought that chest was flat. It looked like it, honest! But then I had an energy drink an hour ago. :crazyeye:

Out-of-character: Whoops I also forgot to mention we have a great prophet. He's standing outside Trinity twiddling his thumbs. What to do?

Perhaps posting the roster might do something...

Imhotep << On deck
pholkhero << Up now
Ozbenno << OOP until his PC is fixed
Xenoborg << MIA
Meatbuster << Just played
Lone Wolf << Just played... before me
ssmage << MIA
Monkeyfinger

I've played, report and pics coming later.

Things of note. Played to turn 323. Cardith is dead, so is Garrim and Valedia.
We are close to the domination limit, so raze every city after if we are going for conquest.
Next tech should be astronomy, So we can go after Alexis.

Congratulations on the destroying the Amurites, whose queen engages in demonic deals, the greedy Luchuirp, whose leader archmage is ambiguous to say the least, and the Kurios, whose enroachment on our lands proves how they really feel about us. Now it's the time to go after the Khazad, whose greed is even larger then the one of Luchuirp, and Calabim, the source of corruption that slowly spreads in the world.

First things first,

A attack from Chalid, 3 Seraph's and 2 from Basium leads to this on the same turn...

Two turns later...

The next turn, we get back stabbed by the Amurites, Bribed in.
7 Slow war turns later, (damn you Arcane Lacuna stopping Crown Of Brilliance!)

Ten turns later, The backstabber dies.

The State of the world.

Save is in Previous post.
Oh, Yah. I used the great prophet For deis die, And the took all of the bannor mana, It's not like there gonna build adepts, anyway.

alright, looks like i'm up...the roster has me all crazy.

if i can, i'll look to start the war with the Khazad. I'm amazed that even though i've tried to play through several SP games of FfH, most of the names of these units we have are still foreign to me :crazyeye:

post any and all advice :D

Well the plan was to raze the Khazad and tech Astro, build boats so we can raze the isolated civ.

The victory goal is conquest, after all.

Sorry for my absence, I have a lot of work at the moment. Go ahead pholk. At that point of the game I don't fear you can screw it up :p :D . I think LoneWolf should then play another set, then Monkeyfinger, then Meatbuster.

I'll post a roster after pholk's set. :p .

Imhotep

sorry all, real life has been a bear too ~ unfortunately, it's all filling out TPS reports :p

i declared on Khazad on my last few turns, and teched up till Astro. We razed two cities and conquered 1. I don't even have time to resize my shots

the only thing i did wrong was probably builds...the vast array bedazzles me.

Looks like we're winning dom on the next set rather than conquest.

And ending up skipping the only person to actually stay evil.
