What kind of freaks doesn't enjoy hugs? Even socially avoident people like me enjoy them.
But for the most part, I enjoy them with available women. I admit that the desire to touch a woman is important to me, and I know this makes me a bad person. I've learned to suppress my feelings for wanting affection from a woman. I'm terrified of being accused on the metoo movement. I would never ask for a hug, nor touch a woman in any way at this point. The metoo movement has made me terrified of women.
Generally I think it's a good idea for guys to avoid them anyways because it can lead to crushes which could lead to falling in love with someone who will only Friendzone you. Only engage in them if they will lead to something.
As for family members, that's a different story. It just depends on if your family was affectionate or not (mine was not). I'm generally only affectionate with women.

Like you, though, I don't mind hugging a beautiful lady.

I like it from my wife more or less in private. I am not big on PDA and would not initiate a hug outside of a close family or friend I have not seen for a while.I generally do not hug other men either. I don't even hug my nephew in law when he goes to bed and he gets hugs from all the family.
I would not initiative a hug with a female, I might hug a female friend if she is upset and initiated it. Generally I listen though. I'm not a very expressive person in public though. I like touching women but it should always be with their consent and probably in private. I have been with my wife for 17 years now so not going to go and grope a random women anyway (and did not do it in the 90's-2000 anyway).
