DoC Whole Empire Challenge

That's a nice Spanish empire, I've got to admit. I wonder why you founded Bogota where you did and not one W though.

I didn't really bother thinking about it. If city placement was that important, Tucume would of been destroyed and rebuilt 1S. Since finishing the game was not my objective (it rarely is), it didn't matter much.

Equatorial Guniea is just a jungle title. I would have to wait until biology to get it a 1 title colony, which I am not going to do.

Is it also not technically correct to assume that if Portugal is in your Spanish empire, then their Brazilian colonies are also required for this to be considered legit? :p

Also, I'd post my Korean empire I did earlier, but I didn't save any images :crazyeye:

I'd like to submit my Byzantium circa 550 AD

This one was fairly easy. Here's Balochistan:

Bengal:

and The Deccan Plateau:

It is the second largest empire in the world:

This was pretty straightforward. You can pretty much conquer India with your starting stack in the 600AD scenario, and you can just spam war and siege elephants for capturing Pakistan and such. India is so rich that you can run at almost 100% research all the time. I'm going to try the Ottomans next.

Ottomans didn't work out so well, so here's the German Empire in 1900AD. :bump:

Here's Germany, with additional ahistorical Austrian and Danish possessions:

Spoiler :

The German West African colonies of Kamerun, Togoland, and the historical Brandenburger colony of "Groß-Friedrichsburg":

Deutsch-Südwestafrika:

Deutsch-Ostafrika

Deutsch-Neuguinea:

I couldn't be bothered to settle all those single-tile jungle islands to the east. None of them are historical territory anyway, so as far as I'm concerned they don't count.

I even managed to nab the failed IRL settlement of "Klein Curaçao" in Deutsche Karibik:

Spoiler :

Qingdao doesn't even exist in this game, so I felt alright about not having to steal land from China (who is solid and controls nearly all of East Asia).

I used the following map as a reference for my conquests:

I am thinking of trying one of these - so are we allowed to control ahistorical land(for eg. Denver and Chicago as any civ other than France and America)?

Well, the 2 ahistorical cases we had were: Vienna for Germany, and Lisbon for Spain. These cases have 3 similar characteristics:
-They have both been a part of the historical empire for a moment (Portugal was a part of the Iberian Union and Austria was an important part of the Third Reich).
-A similar culture (Portuguese/Spanish, German/Austrian)
-A geographical proximity for the core part of the empire

So if Denver and Chicago respond to those are criteria, go on;)

I meant completely ahistorical (Denver as China etc), just for the extra bonuses.

Just an example. (Who would want to go there as China?)

Uh, me, since it's the best production spot in the game?
I even settle that spot when running City States. Yes, without getting the specialist bonus and while getting hit by a -3 city penalty.

But it really starts becoming productive only after 1700, and by that time there's not much time left for your UHV.

Oh, right, I barely play UHV anyway unless for the challenge threads.
Doing ahistorical things is much more fun :p

First French Empire (or Napoleanic Empire)(600AD Monarch)

BTW, what image uploading service do you guys use? I used to use Imageshack but they now require registration.

Where's French Dalmatia? ;)

I always use CivFanatics itself by the way.

Yeah, right.
