The lack of respect is in every place, really. Even in church yesterday a woman standing next to me lit a cigarette during the mass. It took me such a shock that I almost dropped my beer.

Platonic Republic strong!

Nevermind that Plato came quite after Pericles, and that Pericles led Athens into the War of the Peloponnese which it lost after decades of fighting and led to Spartan Hegemony in the final years of the Greek city-state system before Philip II of Macedon came along.

So you know how I said I finished all my homework? I was wrong. Because I got the date wrong for one of my hardest assignments. Its due in four days and I've barely started. So if you see me on chat, tell me to get back to work please. I probably won't be around much, I can't afford to fail.

That looks awesome. Glad someone picked up the setting Creative Assembly kept ignoring.

Same here. I probably won't pick it up now, but once it leaves EA, I certainly will check it out.

Aztecs being deliberately cut out for day one mini DLC = me declaring a bloody vendetta on the developers!

Day one mini DLC is bad enough, but the Aztecs are such an integral part of the CIV experience, this is sacrilegious.

But what do I care anyway, I haven't even played Civ5 yet.

Well I'll tell you why I care, because I can't even play a game like Europa Universalis anymore because of all this DLC nonesense... There is no core game experience anymore because its been so cut apart for so many different DLC, many are fluff, but some of which actually introduce new mechanics or change things radically. I can't even understand which DLC I'd want to purchase, in the meantime I hesitate to commit to a grand campaign, so I've hardly played the damn game!!! Everyone has different combinations of DLC which similarly divides up the online community.

Come on guys. Just decide what's in the damn base game and make it, then bring out decent expansion packs with substantial content that add to the game in a cohesive way and that we will all agree to buy. It's not that hard.

I WILL NEVER PLAY CIV6 UNTIL THE AZTECS ARE FREE

but think about poor Johan and his starving family; each DLC purchased is one dinner to feed his hungry children

but think about poor Johan and his starving family; each DLC purchased is one dinner to feed his hungry children

They deserve to perish in the storm of fire and brimstone that shall consume all the evil-DLC-doers and cleanse them from the earth. For this crime even his children and his children's children shall not be without punishment.

Well in an MP everyone automatically plays with the host's DLCs, so it is possible for you to play an up to date multiplayer if that is a concern.

On the other hand, yes. Way too many DLC. I don't even know how many of them are there! I have them all except Mare Nostrum, since I am an obssesive of completion (also I dont buy anything over 10$ ever other than the occasional base game), but Art of War and Cossacks are really the two must-haves, I think.

Are you aware of the radical change that is coming in October 11th? Institutions will substitute tech groups. That will come on the free patch, but the Rights of Man expansion comes with some reaaaaaally juicy stuff like CONSORTS, who can rule if the king dies before the heir comes of age. Looks like it will also be a must-have.
