Dumb and Stupid Quotes Thread: Idiotic Source and Context are Key.

"I'm trying to preserve an endangered culture -- the American culture -- and it is being overwhelmed by 30 million illegal and legal immigrants being dumped on this country from peasant cultures... If you don't want to be killed by ISIS, don't go to Syria. If you don't want to be killed by a Mexican, there's nothing I can tell you."

Ah, Ann Coulter. The woman who proved Sarah Palin is not the most batshit crazy woman on the far-right.

"Slave owners were very good Christians and good people. They weren't terrible, rotten, horrible people. And that's how I see gay people."

Ignoring the whole thing about the slave owners (because he can't possibly know that), which bit (good people or terrible people) is he meaning to apply to gay people?

I have long suspected she is a professional troll.

I think Paul Shepherd is a straight shooter with future president written all over him. He should run for Senate or Governor at the next possible opportunity.

I take him to mean that gays are like slave owners: good Christian people who nonetheless were guilty of owning slaves. So that gays are similarly good people (who knows whether he means they're Christian too - probably not, I think) but guilty of the heinous acts of homosexuality.

I don't know to be honest. It's altogether a bit confusing.

But in answer to your question, my best guess is that both apply to gays: good people doing terrible things.

Erdogan minister said:
But a senior member of Erdogan’s party had another theory – it was the “Jewish lobby” and “Crusaders” who swayed Turkish voters.

“There’s an economic lobby in the world, which is under the hand of the Jewish lobby, and these are the ones who want the AKP to fall,” Muhammed Akar, chairman of AKP’s Diyarbakir branch, said in an interview with Foreign Policy. “Not only the Jewish lobby, there is another movement – the Crusaders. Because the AKP government is the voice of the Muslims in Turkey, and all the world.”

Those aren't crusaders, though. They are Byzantine restorationists ;)

Yeah. After all, we all know what the Crusaders did to the ailing Byzantine Empire in the first place!

"Texas was in a long period of drought until Governor Perry signed the fetal pain bill. It rained that night. Now God has his hold on California."

Where do you find these hysterical people, Cutlass?

Most of those quotes are copied from the page where the daily Doonesbury cartoon is. They're collected by Slate and the Washington Post and Doonesbury staffers, I think.

Clearly they were Bulgarian Mohammedans who wanted to take Constantinople for Bulgaria. As it is written, so it shall happen!

uhmm no . My comments on trolling the likes of Barack Hussein has re-kindled an hysteria about my reach into stuff . Can't get it at all , am a Starfleet Admiral and nobody believes that yet they can believe ı handled the vote count so that with a want of 90 000 odd votes the Party that gets 41% of the vote lacks the majority and the Main Opposition also loses votes , supposedly because they too support the same American moves to establish an Hong Kong or two in Turkey . It's just a joke !
