So apparently good news for the Basque country

The militant Basque separatist organisation, Eta, has started a process of putting its weapons beyond use according to international mediators.

A small part of Eta's arsenal of weapons has been put under seal, more than two years after the group called a definitive end to hostilities.

Video passed exclusively to the BBC by an intermediary shows what the verifiers hope is the start of a process of complete disarmament.

Meanwhile mediators quizzed in Spanish High Court

If anyone does not know what E.T.A. is here is a brief summary
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-11183574
The summary is not updated, the 10th of January of 2011 they announced an indefinite ceasefire. Same year, the 17th of October ther was an international meeting in Donostia-San Sebastian called Donostia-San Sebastián International Peace Conference.
Finally, 3 days later E.T.A. Announced that the ceasefire was definitive and irreversible

I don't trust them.

Is up to you trusting them or not.
The only true fact is that there have not been attacks since almost 3 years ago and that they have taken some steps to their dissolution.
These steps, unfortunately for now, are reversible.

I must recognize that this last step was not enough for me. I know that the video is a dramatization of the step, but IMHO it was allmost a joke. It is well known that they have up to 100 pistols and they just handed in 4. I was expecting more than 4 piltols, more explosives and the whole arsenal of submachine guns and rifles (which in practice are not in use)
I hope that next months they hand in more guns.
Let's see what happens next months, they have allready said that it will be a long process, but we have never been so close of their end...
