Earth 2010 PBEM

There is a difference between a modder and a player, but I'll give this a go

Hint: You may want to consider playing my mod as well one day. It really is more suited to "Hot Seat" Play, which is similar to PBEM, I think.

:beer::band::dance:[party]:rockon::wavey::sheep::banana::salute:

Never mind my emotions :) I am just happy that America (and Taiwan) got a leader and the game is finally on! Please don't forget to post some "freestyle" news after you played -- it adds some fun to the game! I will send China's email via PM...

Hollywood, Broadway and Nashville have all sent their hits to many places in the world.

Trade agreements have been requested. Even some alliances and defensive pacts have been proposed. Barack Obama is really trying to make a name for himself before the 2012 elections. Will he get re-elected ? We will see.

The United Nations must shift its focus from just settling disputes between states to coordinating the world's fight against terrorism, Vladimir Putin told the second day of a U.N. summit Thursday.

-- To work effectively UN must have a strong and friendly Secretary General. This month's elections can actually Unite the Nations, instead of dividing them. I know that our vassal, His Excellency Ban Ki-moon is also on the ballot, but he is never going to get 86 votes. At the end of the day only 2 candidates will come close to win -- Barack Obama and myself. The world had already given Nobel Peace Prize to Mr. Obama -- and yet there is no stable peace in sight! We got a new war in Middle East, and don't tell me it is between China and Iran! Oh, no! If there is a war in Middle East USA has something to do with it. Look what happened this turn -- Mexico and Columbia-Panama traded their independence to become American vassals -- perhaps because of American bullying. You all remember the immortal saying of their former president -- "Speak softly and carry a big stick, you will go far". And Americans went as far as Iraq, Afghanistan and Korea! They got lots of nuclear sticks, you know... Mind you, we got too, but we got some, because they got some. It was not us bombing Japan, remember? So, world leaders, please play your cards wisely! On Marathon speed you won't get UN events very often :old: The winner of this election would be either friendly Putin, or unfriendly Obama, or useless Mr. Nobody!

(Putin took a deep breath and drunk some Russian water with a very low percent of alcohol)

-- I would like to bring your attention to the events in Somalia:
attachment.php

As you can see Somali pirates attacked Saudi destroyer! There would be no pirates in Somali if US President Clinton would not pull out of Mogadishu in a first place! Of course -- no need to protect poor Somali population -- there is no oil around the Horn of Africa. I hope next turn our Kenyan vassals will bring stability to the most dangerous city on the planet :cough:

Finally, I want to leave you with this thought -- if even Kenya, the birthplace of Mr. Obama's father, decided to befriend Russia -- doesn't that speak volumes about Russian friendliness and the commitment to Unite the United Nations? Vote for Pedro!... I mean, for me!

GPS to Nighthawk

EU's Director of Foreign Relations, Sir E. Clipse meets with French and German officials to discuss this current UN Leader proposal. After much deliberation the final tally was 2 out of 3 votes for Vladimir Putin. Sir E. Clipse then picks up the direct line to the UN and casts EU vote. We wish Vladimir Putin much Luck in this endeavor because this job will not be easy!

The first line of business we will be bring up to the newly elected UN Leader is that many Nations are currently researching Fusion! We know this because we have invested heavily in intelligence gathering and can clearly point fingers at those pursuing this horrible new technology. We can also point out that many more than them nations are researching other less volatile technologies but we must stress that even know Terrorism is on the Rise it pales Greatly to this extreme World Killing Technology.

I motion that these Leaders abandon this Reckless notion of Fusion Research for something less devastating

Signed
Sir E. Clipse

I have the turn, however I am at work and will play it as soon as possible tonight...

The following announcement was read from a makeshift podium from a Saudi announcer and broadcast on grainy Arab television, picked up throughout the world:

The United Muslim Confederacy would like to confirm the attacks on Arab vessels from the Somali pirates and are pleased to announce that in a gesture of goodwill and thanks towards the Kenyan rescuers, the new United Muslim Confederacy will be casting their U.N. votes in favor of Mr. Putin of Russia. The Confederacy is still going through a period of rebellion, however our new leadership is in place and will be sending new representatives to the U.N. in the upcoming weeks. We urge the rebels and people of the muslim faith to throw down their arms and join the Confederacy before we force you to join. Willing recruits shall be given preferential treatment.

In the eyes of the Confederacy, we must make our vote count and have chosen the lesser of two evils. However we will not stand for the Russian and American superpowers meddling in the local affairs of countries in our area. For too long we have seen foreign powers sticking their fingers in our politics and propping up the vocal minority with weapons and troops. In what world that exists does the minority get to have their opinions get heard, while the majority suffers? The Confederacy stands against the ideals of the meddling superpowers of the world, and so with our first order of business will be cutting off all trade with any countries not part of the Confederacy. Consider this message a warning to all of those who would meddle in our affairs - this will no longer be tolerated. We strongly urge the American president to withdraw his forces from the area and no longer get involved in the business of the middle east. The same message goes to the Russians up north - remove all your troops from the area and stay out of our business. You may have received our U.N. vote, but that is only because you have shown to be less willing to get involved in our local affairs than the Americans and we are hoping you will take this message seriously and respect our privacy. This is a new order of power for us and we urge the world to take our threats seriously.

With that message said, the announcer leaves the stage and the cameras cut out...

After watching the announcement certain to be authentic of Middle East broadcast Sir E. Clipse claspse his hands almost ready to give a standing ovation but he realizes where he was.

Thinking to himself our troops are somewhat in that area as well, but we weren't mentioned, either we are no threat to them or not considered a super power at any rate I think we'll give them some space as well.

What he was saying to the world sounds to good to be true. That region has always been in a state of unrest so we wish him luck in this undertaking.

He then calls on his secretary to draft a short note to them.

"Congradulation and good luck with you new government model, so you'll not think we're imposing we'll just offer if you need anything just ask, just understand we are of the Western philosophy but view the world as important rather than regional affairs.

finally... GPS to our new American player... well.. Taiwan.

save attached... whats the email i need to send to? I'll have to check the first post...

edit: kiwitt, let me know your email in a private post so i can email this direct to you in the future. dont want to use up all my CFC space posting turns. thx

It's my fault ... I got kiwitt's email (I think it is his screenname on gmail) but I accidentally erased his PM, otherwise I would tell you before you have played your turn!

I am so happy that we finally got this ball rolling! Or, what was Obama's other expression .. kicked the can down the road :).

Only Special Forces units and Spies can see Terrorists. But very often Terrorists are not careful and can run into the regular unit and die...

I am so happy that we finally got a working team that I decided to celebrate. Bellow are rather nice in-game images of the locations of our players as of Today :) I hope I left some room for a guesswork :mischief:

The Chinese leader would like to greet the new UN Chairmain, Mr. Puttin.

China advises Russia to embrace the new communism developed in China, one that reconciles the people's happiness with the happinesses of many businesses, either they be Chinese, American or anyother nation!!!

P. I got 93 votes, I need 125 to win the game! Why did you get so many votes?
반기문: Korea is the 6th largest contributor to UN, world leaders respect that!
P. Don't you think we have too many Korean leaders in our game? South Korean leader, North Korean and also you with capital in Oslo... When is the next UN event?
반기문: March 2012!
P.
반기문: Marathon speed, Mr Secretary General!
P. Oh well... What's up with Turkey declaring wars on Canada, Peru, and Venezuela?
반기문 Perhaps they passed some pro-Armenian legislation, I am not sure.. But I would not worry about that. Wars are good otherwise Civs will be disbanding their units.
P. This does not sound very peacekeepish, you know...
반기문: Whoever wants peace must get ready for war!
P. Ok, ok.. It's getting late, I still have to draft some law about anual celebration of my election. What's up with your hand?
반기문: :dunno:

Of coarse I can eventually figure it all out on my own but I feel horible at the begining of a turn when a Diplomatic window opens and I have no idea who it is
