I am continuing to have trouble with the mod for some reason, not always being able to open it. Right now it is being difficult again and refusing to open for some reason. Probably best if I just let someone else take over since only one turn has been played and you can find someone right at the beginning. Sorry for the inconvenience.

This is very sad, because I was sure it worked through during your first turn Of course we could start looking for replacement, but if something worked one time it should work... You sure you don't wonna give it a second try?

I am really expecting that our communication here on this forum also be a part of the game, when we post as the leaders of our factions and not as players. Laws of morality are very different in international politics vs friendly site like this one.

When a Leader says something for the news they pursue their agenda, instead of simply informing. So lets treat Turn news as a part of the game!

Bahmo, we need to wait for the Nighthawk to upload or email you your Taiwanese save. You are playing 2 different Human civs -- independent Taiwan (last civilization among the 35 in the scenario) and USA, the first civilization in the playing order (AI vassals are South Korea, Iraq and Israel).

Nobody played Taiwan yet, so you can just go ahead and chose the password when prompted. I PMed tdy99 about his password for USA. tdy99 played the very first turn for America already, but he just did a little anti-Taliban actions in Afganistan (check his report here) -- so you will basically continue with the Turn 2 with very little things changed.

After the Taiwan save is posted please play Taiwan and then load USA!

You know, I must confess I have little experience with multiplayer Civ games. How exactly does playing as two civilizations work?

Oh it is VERY simple. You load the save for Taiwan, play, hit the end of the turn. Game says that save for Obama is placed in your .../pbem/Today folder. You just load the American save ("from yourself") and play. After you hit the end of the turn it will save a file for China, which you will email to Luthor... By the way please pm me your email...

Tigranes, dont lose hope - the first couple rounds of turns in PBEM games tend to go slow and be error prone, especially when playing with a mod. Once this gets rolling I fully expect it will be a grand game!

Thank you, man! I don't know why so many people are having technical difficulties with such a simple scenario -- I mean many mods are modified much much heavier than this one. We are practically playing vanila BTS with this game and PBEM saves do not work somehow

In my case, for example, everything is so easy. I just need to have the scenario in my BTS/mods folder and when I get the save on the DESKTOP I just doubleclick on it! I don't even need to place the save in pbem folder -- and I thought it should be no brainer....

@Bahmo -- Please confirm that you got the save! I will help you step by step whenever you ready.

Ok, Bahmo is having exactly the same issue as Dumanios -- protected folder issue.

This is quite frustrating, since on my end game runs very smooth. Apparently 3 other players were able to play it without any problem, at lease one of them (Eclipse) has Steam, so perhaps this is not a Steam related issue.

I think we need some technical support at this point. We cannot run into the same issue again and again without resolution....

@Bahmo -- Can you please post the picture of the error message?

@Bahmo If its not to much trouble browse threw your folders and take a screen shot of where you have this Mod

C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods
or
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword\Beyond the Sword\Mods

Alternatively, if you are PC skilled you can alternatively change the permissions on your current Civ IV folder. Windows Vista/7 has changed the permissions making only full admins having access and this is especially important when playing mods that did not come with the orginal install disks or game downloads.

I am currently on dial-up speeds (exceeded my 40 GB broadband allowance) so can not download the mod until next week. Can you wait that long ?

Do I just download the latest save and then play as the USA ? and then upload my save to this thread.

I am ok with waiting another week, it is just I invited several people already... The save is posted by Nighthawk -- whoever manages to play it first -- will be Uncle Sam

I really believe that modern scenarios deserve more attention from community. I look forward to continue our game!
