End of Empires - N3S III

Some random things I drew the other day (I did not have a good scanner handy, and didn't bother unifying colors at all :p):

The world from the perspective of the Moti. The world map is modeled, loosely, after the descriptions given in the Tale of the Moti-hero Kirost -- the world centered on the feast tent of Eso Soggo in Gaci, with the various rings encircling it -- the furthest obviously being plagued by bandits and such. There hasn't really been a consistent design for Uggor writing, so it's all in our alphabet.

The world from the perspective of the Faronun. Rather more accurate than most people's conceptions of the world; this particular Faronun geographer avoided putting anything on his map that he did not have a fair amount of corroboration for (the search for truth being holy, etc.). He simply leaves the parts he doesn't know as much about blank. All of the place names are written in Faronun script.

There's a Satar map as well, but I haven't assembled it on my computer yet; I'll post it when I do. I'll think about doing some others -- maybe Dulama.

The Satar Map:

Done in the style of a Kalis board, with four quarters -- Earth, Air, Water, Heaven. Kargan is placed at the center of this world map, and various other sites serve as "gates" between the four quarters, or centers of the four quarters.

Why can't I read any of the names? :(

I would have thought the mask and steppe bits would have alerted you that the bottom map was written in Satar. You can tell by the lack of continuous vowels and wimpy curves.

I thought that this was posted in NES Maps Thread for some reason... I will now leave this world in peace and never come back. (Unless I stay as a ghost and become a god of some forgotten tribe)...

Here is the Faronun alphabet, for those who cannot find the original post, or who were not NESing when I first created it. :D

Danke schön ;)

Alright, stats should be updated. As usual, let me know about any errors.

There are also major changes to all the posts in the first page. Aside from shiny pictures, there's a succinct summary of world history there to try and catch newbies up, the rules have been edited slightly to reflect current implementation, and so on. Let me know how you like it!

(Or don't like it. :p)

The updated first page is awesome! Thank you! Also glad to see an expanded climate map covering more of my area, though not surprised by the results. Much appreciated :)

In Character:

To: Dehr
From: His Great Majesty, Emperor Alamman of Trahana

Your occupation of the cities of Anotan and Intakan[1] is in defiance of our rule over the domains of Haina. We demand that you withdraw at once and turn over stewardship of both cities to Trahana.

[1]The two northern, coastal former Haina cities now in Dehr; Anotan is southern and Intakan is northern.

To: Trahana
From: Dehr

We are not a violent people, and we do not wish to see conflict. However, as you well know, the treaty we signed promised that we would leave these cities to the Thag's descendants in perpetuity. While we recognize your legal claim to the Despotate of Haina, we would note that you are, in fact, not the descendants of the old Thag. If you wish to rule these cities, we would require some kind of compensation, for as of now they are our rightful lands by any law men follow.

To: Dehr
From: His Great Majesty, Emperor Alamman of Trahana

In thanks for your peaceful maintenance of the cities of Anotan and Intakan in these times of trouble and in acknowledgement of your conveyance of those cities to us, we are willing to provide your realm with 1,000 [income] and a guarantee of ongoing friendship and peace between us.

To: Trahana
From: Dehr

Reasonable and just. We look forward to the forthcoming years of friendship.
