The crash issue is still happening... I'm sorry to say that.
since I don't have clues as to why the crash occurs, it was only guesswork
might as well try commenting out the "collectgarbage()" line 98 of EUI_context.lua, see if that helps
it didn't help at all..
Hi! Big fan of the mod
Unfortunately I've been getting some crashes mid-game, but only during late game. Can't reliably reproduce them as far as I can tell. I tried deleting UnitPanel but the crashes persisted. I'm on Linux (Fedora 31) on an XPS 13 9370 with the i7-8550U running unmodified EUI beta 42 from yesterday. I don't have a graphics card.
Recently I managed to play a whole game to the end but on the victory screen, when I pressed the button to leave the game, I got a crash.

Before that is repeated lines about EspionageOverview. Since the Runtime Error is so far before the ingame shutdown, I'm not sure if it's related.

Any ideas what I should try to do to fix this? My main issue is that I don't have an easy way to reproduce crashes, so I can't iterate fast to see if certain changes work or don't.
I looked through some old posts and found some crash files which I'd like to try, but I'm not sure how to. I put them into Saves/single/ but the game says that the file is invalid. I'm probably just being dumb here any help?
Also, does CTD mean crash to desktop?
I started using 'Civ5 Enhanced User Interface v1.29beta42' and I have trouble 'seeing' happiness (it's not a sarcasm ...
On legacy version it is OK. I see happiness / unhappiness in cities and their cause, like Distress (https://civ-5-cbp.fandom.com/wiki/Happiness).
Now on beta I can't see it (only global happiness). I am using VoxPopuli Beta Version - December 1st.
Look at pic1 (legacy version) and pic2 & 3 (beta EUI).
Do you know why this is so and how to fix it?
I started using the NQ Mod recently and now also want to use the EUI.
My problem is that I either cannot select units correctly or my game seleciton is broken:
Legacy Version: If I use the legacy EUI version I cannot really select units. I can click on them and move but cannot see their pic in the bottom left corner and also cannot upgrade them (pic 1).
v1.29beta42/v1.29beta38 version: If I use either of them - doesnt matter which one - my game selection is broken and I cant choose any of the options (pic2). Loading a save file leads to a crash.
So I'm sitting here for about 4 1/2 hours trying to fix this issue unfortunately without any success.
Im getting really frustrated so I hope someone can help me to fix this

i am using EUI for some time but recently i discovered a diplomacy panel which looks great
i am wondering if it is possible to shift that panel to bottom of screen (and change its position from vertical to horizontal) because its located on scoreboard.

I changed to a legacy version and it started working normally. After a few turns changed back to beta and it worked without a problem. When will the failure occur again? Who knows.
IMO to many bugs in beta EUI...
First of all, thanks for the mod. It makes gameplay much more efficient and enjoyable.
I recently had to re-install the mod after using it for a few years (not sure why it stopped working - maybe a Mac update since I hadn't played for a year or more). I made a mistake while reinstalling that appears to have deleted all of my saved games
Here is my problem info:
Bug: Civ V deleted save games due to Save folder overwrite
Game version: Steam Installed, Civ V v184.108.40.2069
DLC: Gods and Kings and Brave New World, no mods
PC or Mac: Mac OS 10.13.6
I had forgotten that the Text folder is in:
~/Library/Application Support/Sid Meier's Civilization 5
so I followed the instructions on the forum for pasting the EUI and CSL xml files into:
~/Documents/Aspyr/Sid Meier's Civilization 5/Text
When I opened Civ V, I found that there were no save files listed in the load menu. I checked
~/Library/Application Support/Sid Meier's Civilization 5/Saves
~/Library/Application Support/Sid Meier's Civilization 5/ModdedSaves
which both showed no save files present. I probably had 100+ before
I'm not a modder or developer, so I would appreciate if anyone can find something I'm missing and might have a suggestion for recovering my saved files. Unfortunately I don't have them backed up on Steam Cloud either. If there is no solution, it may be beneficial to update the forum post instructions with Steam install filepaths for the xml files as well.

As the image shows,this is my problem with eui. Does anyone have any solution for this?
Is anyone else having an issue seeing how many followers of a religion each city has when no one faith has a majority, i.e. there is no pantheon/religion icon to hover on? I don't have this issue with cities I own, just every other city on the map.
Here is a save that may be useful. After pressing end turn, while the AI players do their moves, after Boudica offers to exchange embassies, it crashes.
Latest version of EUI, no mods.
If I remove the EUI folder from DLCs, the game no longer crahes. After the turn passes I can exit the game, copy the EUI folder back and resume playing with EUI. So there's some event that causes the crash in between turns.
Same thing happens again, some turns later. It happens right after Poland's turn, when Venice should start theirs, as it did earlier.
It may have something to do with Venice, or Poland. Here's the save:
Edit: Later on it happens after the Iroquis, so it doesn't have something to do with a specific civ. If you want further saves where 'next turn' crashes with EUI just say.
Thanks for taking the time to upload Civ5 saves. Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce the crashes.
So far I am not aware of any bug in EUI that leads to a reproduceable crash; all reports and personal experience fall in two categories:
infrequent (using windows) random in-game crashes, usually during AI turn (especially barbs) : in my experience, re-lauching the game and loading last autosave always works
crashes after leaving a game : to be safe you need to completely re-launch the game each time you want to play a game or load a save
CTD when loading an autosave from within game. Using v1.29beta42. The CTD doesn't happen when loading the autosave from the main game menu.

Like others, I am getting crashes during AI turns. Someone suggested to use the notification panel from the last stable version. What all goes on from the EUI perspective during AI turns and will this solve my issue?
mixing files from different EUI versions is never a good idea: if some part of EUI causes problems, remove corresponding subfolder, don't replace
if there was something in previous versions that worked better, I would simply use that
if you identify a part of EUI that causes problems (i.e. reproduceable bug), then don't hesitate to report
Hello bc1, thanks for making this mod, it really completes Civ5!
I have a question about your newest beta, I noticed that the moveto mode is not deactivated after moving (you have to click g-mouse1-g instead of only g-mouse1). Is that supposed to be like that or is it a bug on my end?
I can reproduce the problem in your 2nd screen by renaming the eui folder, keep the original name!
The movement problem is related to multiple "ingame.lua" files (from other mods like nqmod). Make sure you only use one.
PS: When using beta EUI, delete eui_tooltips.lua from nqmod, those conflict with the newer ver sion.
City State quests are invisible on the new version.
Separate names with a comma.
