Enhanced User Interface v1.30l

Hey,

Thanks for your attention. It is happening when I start an un-modded game, build a city, choose research, move warrior, on next turn hit exit to main menu and am kicked out to the steam library. It also happens in modded games. Do you still think deleting the FrontEnd folder from UI_bc1 will fix it ? It happens at any point I try to exit to main menu during gameplay.

Or can anyone else running Linux Mint 21.3 Virginia verify it is only me?

Thanks

Using 1.30i and playing Venice, city-states that are bought with a Great Merchant no longer have the ability to purchase buildings or units. Another very minor bug is that those city-states start with a production focus but I believe switch back to gold focus (as city-states do) in a turn or so. It may be possible the production focus isn't happening as I didn't pay all that much attention to the tiles the AI chose.
thx for the report i will look into this
for some reason, the enemy civ has my cities as their items ? (1.30i)
it's meant to show which of your cities / city states want their items for WLTK / influence, and help you pick useful trades

Hi, using 1.30j, when i select "Remind me later" on the automatic faith purchase it instead sets the autopurchase to great prophet. If you need a save file let me know.

Only when using EUI, my video options menu bugs out like this where there's multiple options for the same resolution. And even one for 2560x2048, when my monitor is 2560x1440 (1440p, obviously). Using latest version.
Annoying, when you have to go there every single game launch to toggle a different resolution to use seamless borderless fullscreen.

I think this how it has always been, because if you are still able found/reform a religion, then the game auto buys a prophet for you.

but I already have a religion and it still autopurchases a great prophet. I also didn't have this issue with 1.30g.

That's what the game does, auto-purchase GPs before industrial era if you can found or already have a religion, even if you choose "Remind me later" : EUI only aligns with this fact

sorry, I forgot to mention the behavior also happens post-industrial era.

Good morning,

First let me thank you for this utility. It has made the game so much more playable and enjoyable for me. I've been playing since Civ 1, and Civ 4 and Civ 5 are the best in the franchise and I can't see me moving further in the franchise without major adjustments to Civ 8. 6 and 7 (imo) are both disasters and they got my money on 6, but 7 is simply unpalatable and strays too far from the concept.

Version 130l is fantastic.

I am still having the problem of not being able to "exit to main menu". When I click on "exit to main menu" it exits back to the steam library. Deleting the "front end" folder did not work. This game file is not modded and I verified game files when I installed 130l, deleted cache, etc.

If you are willing and able to look through the attached, and find the cause/solution I would be even greater appreciative of your efforts. I like to play random civs and reload often until I get one I'm feeling. Reloading the entire game is irritating, but if I have to live with it....

Here are the specs and the lua:

Game version: 1.03.279
DLC: Gods and Kings
Brave New World
All of the others

OS: Linux Mint 21.3 Virginia

Thanks for what you do.

@gemsys thanks for taking the time to troubleshoot. Unfortunately, there is no hint in the lua.log as to why the problem occurs. Perhaps the game is "simply" crashing, if so maybe there is a linux log somewhere with debug info ? Don't waste too much time looking, it's unlikely i would be able to draw any conclusions anyway...

Good morning,

Don't let this bother you, but when I remove eui, the game exits to main menu normally. The attached file is a lua from a game where I removed eui. The game exited to main menu normally. (On a side note, it took me way too long to find out where the "work boat" was on the production menu. :) Shows how dependent I've become on eui.)

Don't let this keep you up nights, <eg> its a nuisance for me, but the extra 60-90 seconds to reload the game is far outweighed by the utility of your program.

Thanks for what you do.

Hello together,
first of all, thank you very much bc1 for this wonderful addon to Civ 5. It really is a big benefit to have the EUI.

I just have a short question:
Is there any way to switch the citizen management in the city screen from a dropdown menu to a more intuitive selection method like radiobuttons?

This would be beautiful. As the dropdown menu is a little bit cumbersome.

To give something back to the community and to appreciate all the work, I will attach my first german translation of EUI v1.30l. It might not be perfect, but as a starting position presumably still very good. Maybe I find some time in the future to fine-tune :)

Best regards,
Manni
