[BNW] Enjoyable Deity Games

I haven't resigned, I'm just a slow player. :smoke: We're a bit into the game now so I think it matters less to wait up for each other. Please go ahead and post your next notes!

My 150-200

Spoiler :

151: Buy Universities in Utrecht and Rotterdam, work all their jungles.

153: Steal Banking from Indonesia. I was going to take Astronomy but I finished Chivalry just in time to take Banking instead. Now I decide to ignore Astronomy and get the prereqs for Economics, to hopefully steal from Rationalism Shoshone. I see Indonesia is plotting against me, so I borrow all of his gold and buy a food ship for Groningen.

154: Ally Milan through quest. England asked me to war Indonesia, I said to give me 10 turns.

159: Take Maritime Infrastructure

164: I’ve backed out of England’s war, sadly she doesn’t pursue it on her own.

165: Steal Economics from Pocatello, he offers friendship next turn, then adopts Order. Economics is huge because I am working both Polders and jungle posts. Now I head for Scientific theory and will hopefully steal Industrialization from him.

169: England and Shoshone sign a DoF.

171: Research Agreement signed between them. So, I want to get them in a war by turn 200, but it will probably be impossible since they both seem impossible to bribe this game.

172: England denounces Indonesia. Buy Aqueduct in Rotterdam

173: Buy two jungles, incl. a banana, and a Granary in Rotterdam, where I’ve been building Great Mosque. I have been holding off on tile purchases but it hits me that I should buy any cheap jungle tiles that I don’t have a chance of naturally claiming before WF activation, because I will want their culture. I have been banking on a WF win, getting my Musician’s Guild up and getting all my Amphitheaters before it happens.

175: Take Naval Tradition

176: I pay Rome a Crab to war Pocatello, hoping it will distract Rome from the WF.

177: WF vote next turn. I’m stretched to 227 MFG vs. Rome’s 343, but he is in 2 wars, and I have painstakingly set up all my cities for nearly full overflows on the first turn.

178: Finish the Great Mosque in Rotterdam, pleasing Vilnius. Another Prophet spawns. Start WF. The English proposal to ban Dyes passes. I made an error by forgetting to check the other WC proposal til the vote; if I had, I would have sold my own Dyes to England instead of Indonesia again, ensuring that she would vote against her own resolution. Oh well. I renew friendship with her, I think it will be at least another 50 turns before I’m ready to war her, I'm sort of in builder mode.

180: I let Milan capture Almaty after training Galleasses on it. think I’m going for a Science victory, not Diplo, and this will stop me from needing to ally Almaty before I go to war with England. Rome takes Autocracy.

181: My spy in Moson Kahni is killed, no Industrialization for me.

182: After 4 turns the project is at 95%, so I stop. With 1000 contribution I’ll certainly win so I prepare for a GPT explosion on the next turn and denounce and declare war on Genghis and Napoleon, the only AIs I’m not receiving happiness from.

183: I won the WF with 1000 production. Runner up was not Rome, but Indonesia, with almost 700. Golden Age starts; Scientific Theory unlocked, boosting my 1 culture ally. I’m getting 300 per turn and will get 2 Writers off it. Not the best, but still huge. I take the Piety gold policy, it boosts my GPT by 60. I buy 3 more jungles and all remaining marshes. I will end up working 17 Polders in the empire. America takes Order. Send my new spy to Vilnius to attempt a coup.

186: Take Rationalism. Indonesia is ready to attack me so I pay him fairly cheaply to war England instead. She has had a massive, inert fleet for centuries.

189: I’ve finished a Bank and a couple trading posts this turn, It’s time to employ Tiberian strategy… I artificially stretch my gold to 388 GPT and use this number to steal 54 gpt from Napoleon in our peace deal, exactly half of what he has, which is the maximum I could take. Genghis unfortunately has no gold after continuing to lose to Rome.

192: Take Secularism

193: Ally Sidon through Culture and Musician quests. I haven’t built any work boats so the Samurai will be an awesome economic tool. I bulb both my Writers to unlock Humanism and Free Thought.

194: Unlock Radio with Oxford. America has just signed a research agreement with Shoshone. I pay Washington to declare war on everyone except Rome (too strong), then denounce and war him myself. Purchase two Zoos to get back to 0.

195: Freedom is untaken but I just want to stay happy, so I take Order.

196: 62% coup in Vilnius is successful!

197: Ally Hong Kong after they put out a gold quest.

200: Washington won’t make profitable peace yet, but I am hoping to steal all his gold too.

I finished my game with a DomV on turn 248. Not much to report on this last session.
Spoiler :
I went Freedom, burned two Writers and took Foreign Legions. I sent two armies in different directions, each consisting of 3 FLs, 6-7 Arties and lots of naval support. I wish there was more for the ships to do, but the remaining AI capitals were all inland.

War against the Shoshone was a bit rough at first, because I was pushing into planes with no planes of my own. Thankfully I had enough half-health Caravels and other bomber bait, so I didn't lose many useful units. Towards the end of the Shoshone campaign I bought two Triplanes to intercept and it's been smooth sailing ever since.

No other AI even had planes. Washington only got them after I'd taken his capital. The terrain was a bit annoying to move through and I had a lot of units and cities to chew through. The armies finally converged on Paris and that was the end of it.

No bribes and no peace deal abuse were the only self-imposed rules this time. Lots of tiny things I could've done better in the end, as I didn't pay as much attention as in the early game and just brute-forced it instead.

I won my game with a turn 312 science win, not super fast, but oh well. I just beat the crap out of Indonesia repeatedly and made friends with England until she warred him. I legit just worked science for the last 60-70 turns, not too much interesting stuff happened.

I've tried the Sweden game a few times, and literally, every time I get into a 30+ turn war against Japan, losing almost no units but with him never peacing until late medieval. Did this happen to anyone else? I legit have a logistics composite bowman on quick speed just from killing units.

My turn 250. Congrats to the winners. I might need a few more session to join the club.

Spoiler :

t201: 42)Stole Scientific Theory. 43)Electricity started! Moving spy to Karakorum.
t202: buy public school in the capital. I denounce England. America adopts Freedom. I now have Civil Resistance but since it's so low (only 10), I barely notice it.
I make peace with Rome and Mongolia taking some 50 gpt in the process, and gift them my embassy and a Salt to them. Maybe they will like me more in the future.

204: 44)Stole Astronomy (unfortunately). I was hoping to be able to keep it undiscovered for some good spy steal timings later. I buy observatory in the mountain city. I will soon be the science leader and I need the Spy agency, soon I have to start buying the requirements.

t205: I really don't want to have Navigation before producing a few Morale-boosted Galleass so I would rather move my spy away from Jakarta since it will steal in 4 turns and he doesn't have Rifling.
France is first to Modern era via Flight and I move my spy to Paris. I decide to first buy Stock Exchanges so I'll stockpile some gold now.

206: Congress is in session and I vote no on England's attempt to ban Gold, which I'm settled on.

207: 3)Brandenburg Gate completed! Ban Gold fails, Art funding passes. Resuming Big Ben. Milan has 233 influence from England so I'll never be able to do anything against this except prepare to use my general to citadel bomb Milan and steal a few good tiles for my Polder city, which I'll keep fortified with a Gatling just received from Almaty.

209: Rome has adopted Autocracy. I'll try to have him as my new buddy. He has the highest tourism so I should also give him open borders now, to help him influence me more.

210: I see an oil well in Milan's terrain and I decide to take it with my general even if it means also upsetting Almaty who is now my friend. I need to deny this Oil to England.

211: 4)Big Ben completed! 45)Radio started! I can't afford to wait to steal it so I'll just rush it now. I need the Spy agency badly, and the new extra spy from Modern Era. I buy 2 Stock Exchanges in cities and Hyrocentral in the capital. I now find the time to build East India Company in the capital.
I citadel bomb Almaty and Milan.
I notice America is at -8 unhappy and PO wants Autocracy. I bribe him to attack Rome and he loses a luxury. I decide to buy out his unique luxuries to bring him to exactly -20 to try to force a Revolution.
Peace treaties expire. I worry about being attacked by England before I am ready.

212: Buy stock exchange in capital. Nobody wants to attack anybody.

213: Autocracy:Total War taken (25% prod and 15 xp) I buy all 3 barracks and start building Heroic Epic. Defensive Pact with America. England and Indonesia will soon DOW, I can feel it.
I got rid of Civil Resitance thanks to Rome. Still having Dissidents.

216: 46)Stole Rifling. The money I was receiving from selling my city ends and I am brought to -200 gpt. I have a 400 gpt debt to America and I have to survive 7 turns until my Artist spawns or backstab America. There is no harm in waiting 2 more turns since I will save a cargo ship by doing so, which is the amount I'll lose anyway.

220: Denounce Mongolia to get diplo boost with Rome which is now Neutral. Except America everybody hates me.

221: France DOWs me. Why, I don't know. I will be insolvent in 1 turn... but the Artist is ready to spawn too. I have to sell open borders to America for 50 gold. Maybe I can do some tricks before DOWing America. They have 3 k gold waiting to be taken.

222: Indonesia DOWs me. The Defensive Pacts have did their job well and America is also at war with my enemies for free. I denounce Washington and declare war. I have to buy no less than 7 luxuries from Rome, for around 250 gpt. Rome gives me Open Borders for free, which is logical since we are both Autocratic nations. Police stations are soon ready.

223: PANIC. This is a disaster. War Bombers in the American cities. Mongolia DOWs. And Rome DOWS too because he feels I am competing for victory. I am in -21 Unhappiness and I am warned that my Polder city will soon go to England if I don't fix it. What a huge mess. General is born. Sending him to citadel bomb into America somehow. Building emergency Castle in Rotterdam and Zoos in capital and Poldercity. I buy emergency luxury from hostile England out of desperation. Unique luxes are worth 154 gpt. I need only 1 to stay at -17 until Zoos are ready.
223.jpg

224: Radio discovered! Rebel Riflemen appear in the capital and prepare to start pillaging everything.
Almaty started pillaging Polders. Mongolian Privateers will soon pillage capital's fish. This is a crisis like never before.

225: Indonesia adopts Autocracy. A glimmer of hope. England sends a caravan from Sidon...
226: Mongolia adopts Order. American archeologists are digging in my terrain, pillaging a fort in the process. More GWBs appear. More polders pillaged by Almaty.
I buy a Galleass and finish Police station. If I've come this far, I must get to the Agency.

227: More bombers. Samurai gets one-shotted by a Barb Rifleman from a camp that spawned in the heart of my empire.

228. 47Stole Steam Power! A spy dies! More bombers appear. 2 Rebel Cavalry appear.
America is willing to make peace... I get 20 gpt. He is finally ready to attack England for me, only for 10 gpt. I also pay him to DOW Mongolia for same amount.

229. Building Spy agency, and Zoos in the expansions. An engineer spawns but he can't build Eiffel in 1 turns due to low pop.

230: 48)Dynamite Started...golden age ends...

231: Rebels have prevented my engineer from approaching capital until now. Maybe next turn I can try to use him for Eiffel. Now at -19 unhappiness.

232: Spy Agency is online. Engineering Eiffel. This game seems so cursed that I wouldn't even be surprised to see that somebody else builds it this very turn. America now has 12 bombers in my zone.

233: 5)Eiffel Tower! Now -11 unhappiness. I now have 300 faith and I purchase a Prophet...

234: Enhancing religion. All 3 other buildings are still available but the most useful to me is Religious art (5 culture and tourism from Hermitage) Enhancer - 50% faster spread.
Pay America to DOW napoleon for 4 gpt. I vote yes to World Religion (England) and embargo Mongolia for diplo boosts. only -7 unhappiness now.

235: Almaty gets conquered by England. I have to capture this city quickly while it is in resistance.
Peace with Napoleon and I pay him to DOW Indonesia in exchange for Salt.

236: America has 18 GWBs in the cities near my capital. It's a relief to think about how an Infantry fortified in a citadel can kill them all in a single turn, but there is still a long way to go until Plastics. Zero happiness as Public Opinion vanishes!

237: Bought a tile of coast for 190 in order to have an option to citadel bomb America adjacent to St.Louis. The inner sea is getting filled with American Battleship. Occupying tiles has the benefit of yeeting them out of my terrain.

239: Vilnius captures my founded city of Breda and wants to raze it to the ground.

240: 49)Stole Navigation! 50)Railroad started. Engineers spawns. Dynamite finished.
I buy Open Borders for 39 gpt from Hostile America and prepare to citadel bomb them. This is a precautionary measure to make sure I don't lose Rotterdam.

241: England now also has a stack of 6 GWBs around my capital. 24 GWBs soon hostile around Amsterdam.
America captures the Indonesian city of Ambon and razes it to the ground. They also capture Breda and puppet it. I gift America 5 gpt...

242: 51)Stole Flight.. Engineering Prora. Citadel bombed America in the city of St.Louis and take back the important Fish that was stolen from me, and also deny them Salt.

243: 6)Prora finished! I choose 14)Honor Opener. Building Broadway.

245: Time to choose policy: 15) Honor Warrior Code.
246: Made peace with Rome, give him my open borders, and buy 27 Oil from him. I abandon Broadway and build my first bomber. Rotterdam builds the first Sea Beggar.
247: I have put the Indonesian city under siege.

248: 52)Stole Replaceable Parts!
249: 53)Stole Archeology!
250: I capture my first city! The indonesian city of Mataram. I sell it to England for 110 gpt but not before I delete its colloseum and gifting the Crabs it has to America. Upgrade Rifleman to Great War Infantry.

I think another problem was that you seemed to not have an ideology yet.
Yes, I was going to be very late to ideologies. Another factor that made the game not much fun.

Here are my findings from t200-250
- As the only one, I chose Freedom. Thus, it has been a struggle for happiness.
- Wonders built: Eiffel, SoL and Louvre.
- I only got a few AS outside my borders and a CV looks shady at best. I am trying to keep my options open for a SV as well.
- I am second in tech count and France is the only other civ to enter Atomic. Indonesia is taking a beating, still being stuck in Industrial. All other are in Modern.
- This is a game where Coal would have been so important to boost production easier than what now is the case. Also the lack of Aluminium was disheartening. At least there is Oil all over the place and I have one node of Uranium as well.

My 250-300.

Spoiler :

251 - 54)Plastics started. Railroad finished! Need to build Neutschwanstein but first Seaport in Rotterdam.
252 - white peace with Mongolia and pay him Salt to attack Indonesia. I sell my basic votes to Say NO on Repeal Arts Funding to Rome for 9 gpt and I buy an iron.
Pay America 33 gpt to attack Indonesia.
253 - America founds Miami in my zone of influence.
I launch my offensive against Milan and DOW them. Vilnius and Milan have grown weary with me for this.
I start work on Neutschwanstein in Rotterdam. I should have killed all these nasty CSs right from the start.
254 - England doesn't like that I attacked Milan and threatens me. I lie to her that I will retreat immediately. My 2 workers have started to build the railroad network.
I pay America to DOW England for 2 gpt and 5 horses. I start a few other wars around the world and DOW France. I give Rome Gold for free. I could have taken Silk in exchange but I need to diploboost more.
255. Rome turns friendly and asks me to ignore that he attacked Cahokia. I even forgot that Cahokia exists so I'm happy to turn a blind eye. I vote YES to America's Cultural Heritage Sites and to Englands Repeal Arts Funding. I realize am following World Religion (England) so I have 2 extra votes. Cool! An engineer spawns in Rotterdam. I send it to the capital for another manufactory.
Only my nation and Rome are now Content with their ideology.
256. All my efforts towards good relations with Rome have been rewarded, and Rome proposes a DOF and I accept. Cultural Heritage passes, and Repeal Arts Funding does not. Exactly what I wanted.
I buy a horse from Mongolia for 9 gpt and buy a Lancer.
257. 55)Stole Biology! England DOWs me and kills my Scrossbow and a frigate in the very single turn I have been keeping them in exposed positions until now. I like to think it was a sign of intelligence from the AI but I know deep down it's just one more unlucky event in this cursed game. Polder city gets bombed down to 20% hp. My income vanishes to -120 as I lose the gold I was getting from England but an Artist is born exactly this turn and I bulb immediately. I sell my votes to Rome for 10 gpt to say no to World Ideology Order. Defensive Pact with Rome.
I could have captured the city of Mataram from England but a Submarine prevented that.
258. I am desperate to obtain the powerful Infantry. 9 turns remaining.
I got to 69% literacy and only France has more than me, 70%. Moved all spies to high-risk cities but there was no other way and no coups were available. I captured a privateer but it and also my only sea beggar will die next turn. Polder city at 0 HP but well protected with no capturers in sight. I got my first Logistics Bomber.
259: England builds Kremlin. Gatling that was fortifying citadel near Milan is singled out by bombers to death. Arsenal ready in 2 turns in Poldercity. America is at 2 gold / lux level of hatefulness. I expect a DOW and keep my GWI fortified in the citadel near America, it should be able to kill all GWBs if that happens, but the battleship presence is scary and this is why I need Plastics so bad. An artillery is killed by air.
261: Preparing to citadel bomb Almaty which is now England's base of operations. Another artillery gets taken down by air.
262: My lancer which I was using as sacrifice survives city and 3 air attacks. I think I can capture Almaty without a citadel next turn.
263: I capture Almaty and puppet it.
265: I might have to lose Rotterdam...this is a tragedy. Sold the police station and will start selling more. I will also be insolvent in 2 turns. I give America my open borders, he's at war with England.
266: Rotterdam falls to England. I have wasted so much production for the wonder in vain.
267: I make peace with Indonesia and sign a DOF immediately with them. I recover Rotterdam but it has lost all important buildings and it has 6 pop.
268: Broadway goes to Rome. Wonderful because I receive a lot of gold for the production I put in it long time ago. An infantry dies to heavy fire.
269: Almaty is captured and I lose 3 bombers and my lancer. I recapture and liberate it. Take 235 as tribute. I DOW America. 6 Battleship are sieging my capital. Polder City 0 HP. America has at least 24 Great War Bombers. My Infantry will kill most of them next turn hopefully. I am absolutely poised to destroy England, America, Almaty, Milan and Sidon.
270. My Infantry kills merely 10-11 bombers his first last stand. I am dissapointed but at least this should set them back a little. I buy my first Triplane and get Sortie on it.
271. America and England have made peace and now I'm caught between them. I capture Milan. Building settler. I need a city somewhere for more bombers.
274. Time to take a policy and I choose 16)Military Tradition without thinking too much.
I vote for Indonesia as the Host of the United Nations as reward for them sending 3 caravans to me.
275 - I lose my settler to a lone lancer.
276 - I kill the lancer and my former settler. My sea beggars capture a privateer and a battleship. Peace with Mongolia and sold a Salt for 120. I am insolvent in 3 turns.
277 - I capture Mataram and sell it to Mongolia for 3 gpt. I sell Milan for 61 to Mongolia.
278 - B17s appear. America founds Buffalo in pure snow for 2x 7 Oil tiles. I capture St.Louis and raze it. I become concerned about France's tech pace which is at 77%. Vote no on World Ideology Order.
279 - I construct a citadel around my Capital.Historical Landmarks passes, World ideology Order fails.
Infantry kills 2 more bombers. I recover my city of Breda. English armies are now countless and Elizabeth slowly reaches critical mass. But until I yeet America off my island I can't be efficient in killing Elizabeth's units. I sell my World Leader vote to Rome for Sugar. I sell the Police Stations and buy another Bomber.
280 - My battleship dies. I build one more Citadel.
281. I construct a citadel around my Capital.
282. Elizabeth completes Manhattan Project.
285. I capture the American city Buffalo and sell it to Rome for 75 gold.
286. 56)Ballistics discovered. 57)Combustion started.
288. I capture an English city and sell it back to Indonesia for 40 gpt. I capture Portland from America. I buy a battleship.
289. America re-captures Portland and kills my epic Infantry. I recapture Portland. I capture Miami.
Peace with America.
290. 58)Stole Radar! I refuse defensive pact with Rome. I found Nimjen and start upgrading my air units.
291 - Sell my votes to say yes on International Games for 400 gold to Rome.
292 - 59)Stole Refrigeration!
293 - I DOW Mongolia and capture Mataram and Milan from him, I puppet them.
295 A spy dies! I am broke and forced to sell a school. My first submarine is out and heading towards London.
296 - I capture Sidon which has 17 Oil and Whales, and all good buildings, and puppet it.
White Peace with England.
297. I attack Vilnius and a lot of CSs grow weary of me.
298. Napoleon builds Apollo project but he's unlikely to survive this game. Indonesia loses capital to England. America founds the city of Portland in my territory again. I will raze it again no problems.
I see an opportunity to Snipe Jakarta which has 1 population and 0 HP and I do so.
jakarta.jpg

I sell another School to buy a Cargo ship because Jakarta had Collosus, and I can use the slot before I sell the city back to England for 238 and Gems. I could take another Citrus but I'm afraid to do so as I don't see where it is. I DOW France.
t299 I capture an Indonesian city. England becomes influential on me.
t300: The tech leader, France, loses capital to Rome.

I finished EDGE#147 with a SV on t304. Rome conquered Mongolia and France. England was about to eliminate Indonesia. England was eight techs behind in second place. I had a totally peaceful journey. I had all the required techs on t296 but the lack of production slowed me down (I had only funds to buy two parts and needed to build four parts). I reached Plastics on t235 and built Apollo on t274.

Congratulations to Nizef and venice! My 200-250:
Spoiler :

Arts Funding passes, I'm ambivalent to it.

205: Take Skyscrapers. I borrow all my friends’ gold and sink my whole treasury into buying 8 Factories and a Hydro Plant in Groningen. Any worked Scientist slots shift to Engineer slots. I’m trying to generate 1 Engineer in every city, and work science specialists after that, without the intention of generating Scientists. The Arts Funding reduction should be negated by the fact that 7 of my cities can get Windmills. Science temporarily reduced, but MFG jumps by 100+.

206: Pocatello gets Eiffel Tower, I was about to try for it with my first Engineer. Thankfully he is Order so it won't hurt my happiness. I decide to just plant all my Engineers as manufactories in the capital for building Parts later, most late wonders would require 2 of them to instabuild anyway in my smallish cities.

217: England denounces/backstabs me, I sic Rome on her.

219: I have to peace Washington when his considerable navy arrives at my capital and I still only have Galleasses.

227: England wars me

229: France wars me

231: Genghis wars me. International Games starts, I’m only building for Silver. It’s my turn to propose, I try to repeal the Dyes ban.

233: Indonesia wars me and kills a Frigate, and now I’m unhappy. But, I already have very powerful infrastructure and Armories in most cities. Spamming Infantry and Sea Beggars, buying Labs with Gold.

234: Finally capture a Ship of the Line with my fancy privateers, way later than I was envisioning at the beginning of the game.

235: Get Flight. I have almost infinite Oil this game, 38 from my 3 CS Allies, and another 30+ in my own lands.

Soon, I’m back in happiness thanks to a round of Harbors and the Intl Games prize.

239: England captures Sidon

241: Liberate Sidon. Last Lab purchased in my tundra city.

There is a really tight sea war between my navy and the combined ships of Gajah and Elizabeth, totally evenly pitched with a lot of Privateer swaps, for about 10 turns. I couldn’t do it without super-Milan’s hefty Privateer force.

245: England captures Sidon again with 1 Ironclad shot out of nowhere. Take Young Pioneers policy.

246: Liberate Sidon again. I use my lone General to place a nice Citadel that claims 10 Oil, 3 Aluminum, and 2 Hills for Utrecht to work. I have to make sure Sidon never gets recaptured, since some of the tiles I just acquired would flip back to the city (I think).

NetherlandsCitadel.jpg

I sell the Oils for profit but not the Aluminum, everyone who could buy it has crazy Hydro plant cities. My Science advisor is telling me to build Bombers and I agree with him.

247: Augustus builds Manhattan Project. America allies Sidon and I am glad because now England will make peace with it, and I couldn’t defend it with my wooden ships because the Ironclad-blocking tiles were in range of her city's bombers. But my firepower and tech is rapidly growing and she will capitulate soon enough. I am able to tribute Sidon.

248: Now England allies Sidon and kills my Frigate. Of the 6 I built as Galleasses, one remains… no one even got Logistics. I buy 12 Uranium from Rome to stop him from building nukes in the next 30 turns. Buy Hospitals in Amsterdam, Groningen, and Utrecht.

250: I capture my first Indonesian city up north, the first of many to be razed. I encounter a very rare, intuitive use for a Great Admiral heal:

NetherlandsAdmiral.jpg

Still at war with four civs, no peace options yet. 6K faith stored for Scientists so far. Spamming Bombers. There are only 10 CS's left in my game, Indonesia conquered my ally Hong Kong along the way. But overall, everything is reaching critical mass.

This sounds like fun. Although I'm late to the game I'd like to give it a try. Can someone give me the tip how to post nice screenshots? I've never figured it out.

Here in the window where you write a post, look for a button called "Upload a file". Click it and then it will ask where you have the file. You choose it and then upload it. You can choose after this if you want to insert it in the post or leave it attached so that people can view it after clicking on it.

If you mean the Steam screenshot feature, don't use it. Just use your PrintScreen button to take screenshots, pasting them into a Word document as you go, where you also keep notes. You can save them all as files from there.

You are a good sport @Tiberiu, thanks for sharing!
My turn 250. Congrats to the winners. I might need a few more session to join the club.
That looks like my Liberty game where I went Autocracy to get Prora! I was 6th to ideologies but could be 2nd to Freedom or Autocracy. First I tried Freedom, but when I missed SoL, I abandoned that game. I was on track (I think) to win my Order game, but it would have been a late SV. The only Wonder I had was Hubble, and the game kept crashing.

So now I am going to try Liberty again, from scratch, but where I put Amsterdam on the only decent coastal tile on our continent.

My 300-350 of #147 (sorry for a less organized report but too many things are happening now to mention them all)

Spoiler :

300-320. Preparations to attack England or defend from their attack. Souvenirs from England have reached record levels in my empire.. I settle a few useless cities in empty snow and gift them away to hold back England and America. This backfires initially but I am able to find the right amount of gold that I need to start chains of heavy AI manipulation. I've sold Vilnius multiple times getting the usual 39 gpt for it..with this money, I have made the most expensive bribe that I have ever done and I am actually respecting the deal and paying the gold. England's armies have reached critical mass. They would be impossible to deal with at this stage and this is the only war that I can start at a time when I feel she will soon DOW.
313_deal.jpg

320 - built Neutschwanstein in Rotterdam, finally.
322 - Horrible turn of events as Rome concedes 7-8 cities including 2 from near my territory to America just when I was preparing to attack England. I have 4 more turns of Open Borders with England and it is mandatory to launch the attack with the borders open! If America stays with those cities, I will be under nuke threat. Also, America is now going to be extremely strong.
Very tough situation now that Rome is starting to lose. Both America and England are influential on me and they threaten to win Culturally. I need Rome alive to be able to win this game.
Even worse, I sell Vilnius to America and instead of Liberating it they puppet it. I denounce Rome.
323. I settle a city in empty snow, I give a luxury to England and give Elizabeth this fake city. This will ensure she has some unhappiness after I declare war.
I decide that I must once again eliminate America from my island, even if this completely destroys my timing for sniping England's capital. A lot of unlucky events in this game.
I will soon lose the 300 gpt from selling Jakarta to England.
324. America builds the first SS Booster of this game. Once again I change my mind as I see England more exposed than ever. I move all bombers back in position preparing to DOW England next turn and snipe their capital.
325 - The war with England begins. I have 350 k army, she has 700 k. America also 700 k.
London falls immediately! 12 Works of art and 9 wonders inside but the area is filled with units and to save my exposed army I am forced to find solutions.
325_2.jpg

325_4.jpg

My solution is to try to capture Canterbury even if I would steal there soon, and sell the city to America, and then sell London to America.
I capture a Nuclear Submarine! I capture Canterbury... I sell them both for total 155 gpt. Only after this I buy Open Borders from America for 40 gpt.
I capture Almaty and liberate it. A very good first attack.
326 - I lose nothing in the first turn of war. I capture another Nuclear sub, and York with Parthenon. Too bad I have no slots for all the works of art I have been capturing. I sell York to America.
327 - England's terrain is starting to feel like free real estate.
328 - I conquer more cities and DOW Rome but this makes me broke.
329 - I lose my first elite bomber due to neglecting to account for interception but at least capture Jakarta with 3 good wonders inside. Artemis, Collosus, Alhambra. America has built Pentagon and has 21 Wonders now.
330 - Klauswitz Legacy.
334 - Stole Atomic Theory! Peace with Rome! I catch America flat-footed. I will destroy a lot of army including an Atomic Bomb, and conquer 3-4 cities in my first round of attack!
I capture York from America and sell it to England for 350 gpt equivalent.
I now regret very much to have taken Rationalism and Secularism as I don't need Science but happiness. Exploration would have been so much better.
I am using Rome to make city dumps.
America will have 3 SS boosters next turn and I am launching all out attack to stop them from winning. Then I have to come back and stop England from winning. I notice Rome and America have nuked themselves.
336. Stole Nuclear Fission!
338. CN Tower goes to England.
339. Peace with Mongolia and I get 4k gold equivalent.
341. I buy my Pagoda...I am confident I have encountered a bug in that I could not convert my capital to the World Religion with a prophet that belonged to the religion. I wanted to get the bonus of 15% production from Elizabeth's religion in my capital but it will not happen. My religion is harming me.
343. Important turn. I capture a coastal american city and destroy a Nuclear Missile and 6 B17s.
I capture a Nuclear Submarine and destroy a lot of armies. I lose a privateer due to a mistake, and almost a great general who was unescorted on the sea. Fighters manage to save it.
343-350. I've conquered 5 american coastal cities and destroyed a lot of armies but America is still strong. I've citadel bombed England to prepare to defend London.
Building libraries and my capital will soon finish the public school. I have good chances be the first to Sattelites and build Hubble for some science. America has only 700-800 tourism but as long as Rome is alive they will never win culturally. I made sure Rome survives by having a small city in a remote location where Indonesia was.

Thank you very much, this is one hell of a game. I have learned so many things from playing it. And also improved my opinion of The Netherlands, which was already above average. I regret that I haven't been able to dominate this game but I am hopeful that I can somehow nurture it to the end to a win. For some reason lately half of my games are total dominations and other half are crazy games where I barely win.

Your first 50 turns looked very good to me. Had you stayed on 4 cities and just played Sim City I think you would have done well. Nizef looks like he played that game... no headaches, simple SV... That cursed Dyes city was your downfall there.

Liberty is cool, but seems to punish the player more heavily if he makes mistakes or if for some reason he can't apply his strategy well, unlike both Tradition and Honor. Vadalaz has made a beautiful game and showcased what can be accomplished with it masterfully. It requires more precision than Tradition which in some ways can be seen as a safety net that prevents you from falling that much harder than you can fall when Liberty. No great person unlocked for purchase with faith, no defensive/offensive capabilities like Oligarchy stand out to me. Not that extra growth and quick aqueduct, and so much money from free monuments and free aqueducts and Monarchy are unimportant...

Having successfully tried out exploration builds before, I was still blown away by what @Valadez accomplished. I agree that liberty can be more punishing, but in terms of power, I feel like Liberty has huge snowball potential, since when I get it working correctly, I nearly always have at least 1500 science on about 8 cites, at least if I'm going for a science win. Liberty is also 100% the only strategy that can keep up with the AI in hammers, so ultimately, I think that it just matters a lot more to make the correct plays in terms of settlement, grand strategy, and micro but if that is done correctly liberty has the potential to go nuts.
