What would be the point of discussing the video in this thread? Why wade through 9 pages of chaff before we get to the real analysis/discussion? This thread has served it's purpose.

Everyone complaining about how off-topic this thread is going: chances are, at the very least, it'll be back on topic in three hours when that video is finally posted.

...assuming they post it at the same time as yesterday's post. It might not be posted until late Pacific time tonight, in which case I'm sure this thread will have gone down in flames.

Also, I'm super jazzed that they're doing this, even for facebook likes, if only because it is some kind of information. I'd rather 'like' fifty statuses to get an update than sit around not having even the slightest clue when an update is coming.

I have deduced (guessed wildly and incoherently) that NO NEW CIVS will be revealed in the featurettes, instead we'll have one on the new Social Policies, another detailing the new wonders, another the ideologies, and so on.

Mechanics, not Civs. I think they'll be saving those up for bigger reveal events. These featurettes are just to stop the horses turning and eating each other.

I suspect at least the first one will be mechanics-based, so I agree with you on that. I do think it's possible to feature Civs later depending on how they feel like revealing the remaining ones.

Since there is going to be multiple videos I don't think they'll have megatons to drop, just a tiny bit of new information for each one at best, or just seeing what we already know in action at worst.

I don't even think there will be a new civ revealed today. I think it will mostly cover one of the new game features. We might notice some city-states that we haven't seen yet or confirm that existing ones are still there. Otherwise, just some observation on how a feature works in play.
