erezNES - Waves of Civilization

@Erez, am I in the right assumption that the light blue area in the heel of Italy are the Cittabacco and that the actual city is that of the vile colonialistic imperialists?

Switching? Because of a twist? No way!

The southern detachment will form around the nation that has already been established south of Talon and surround it but leave it alone. On the homefront, two EP are distributed to farmers and and businesses in order to bring trade up to new levels, and to build mines to increase the outpouring of materials and trade for the bustling nation.

Detachments sent south and north to spread borders of the Empire as well, EP spent on upkeep so far, and forces are ready to reinforce one another if it comes to battle.

There we go, that should wrap the orders up for me.

Tycho. ONCE AGAIN you forgot to pay upkeep.

He is clearly asking for cannibal armies and fanatical death seekers.

erez87, you don't want his superpowered evil mode to manifest, do you?

Read his stories! Gods, I got a minor case of PTSD for two days after reading Rome the Conquering Empire. You DON'T want to get that reaction. Until you do (and believe me, it is inevitable) you will get the pleasant start of Hammer and Steel instead, with intense bloodiness hinted, not shown.

All in good jest.

orders sent :)

Did you read the update? I was the meanest to you :p

Eh, I like to make the best out of the situation that I have, and spread out further. Though now changing my orders so I pay upkeep for my own soldiers and try to get more EP to spend on domestic stuff. :)

Speaking of which, I need to finish up those stories while I'm at it; been too long since I was really dedicated into fixing them (the siren call of the NES subforum distracted me.)

Who still needs to submit orders?

Does it really matter yet? If someone hasn't send his orders in he still has more than a day :)

This is a brisk NES that is going on right here; I like it a lot right now. :)

Cao Bei was the successor to the throne of Xian and a more peaceful man than his father. He wanted to leave his mark on Xian through a route other than war. He thought long about how to do so, first looking to the problems faced by Xian. First they had conflict with the Harhana tribes to the north, however the army of Xian seemed able to fight them off. The city state of Ikenmai had been growing more ambitious, but like Xian they were facing troubles from the Harhana and would be distracted with fending them off from their lands. The hills that covered the land in Xian led to little farming ground and thus unemployment among the sons of farmers who had their land split up every generation, leading them to search for more land.

Now that was something he could fix, thought Cao Bei, but how was the question. He summoned the most prominent thinkers of his people to the capital to search for a way that the land could be maximized for farming. After a lengthy period of time where the scolars would stay in the palace for weeks at a time brainstorming solutions and experimenting if they would work the scholars finally came up with a method of farming that would make use of the hills to provide more farming space. They called it terrace farming.

It involved terraforming the hills so that large terraces would be cut into the hills allowing for them to be flattened to allow for rice and other crops to grow on. But the extent of such projects would halt all but the richest farmers from implementing the method. Cao Bei decided that he could solve two problems at once by creating a public project to turn all of the farmland that was useless hills into terraces by hiring the unemployed farmers to dig out the terraces. They would be payed by being given some of the farmland that they helped terrace solving their unemployment problem for good. But he could see that it would be a large project that would require some spending from the government to finish. However; the benefits would be well worth the cost of the project.
