erezNES - Waves of Civilization

Saying me isn't enough. Only fully written joining thing with information claims a spot. If you made one before, link it or quote it into the me post.

About the horses. Nor horseback riding or chariots yet. It's still all very basic. Think Sumerian city states.

This work?

Adahy Confederacy/Nintz
Government: Tribal Democracy, where the sub-tribes each have a say. same as OTL Iroquois.
Religion: Monotheistic Shamanism. They believe in a great spirit, the creator, or Citlali. She made all, yet is also the embodiment of everything. Citlali is in all, and all is part of Citlali. The animals, the tress, the rocks, the water, and the people. All is one.
Stability: Stable
Economy: Agriculture based, though fishing is common as well. Early craftsmen such as potters exist in small quantities.

Information: The tribal people of North America were mostly just that. Tribal. Unorganized, and generally weak. Fractured. The Mississippi base proved an exception. The local groups of people united not through warfare, like their cousins had tried and ailed to do. Instead, a young man called Adahy went to each of the tribes, and used his great gift of eloquence to unite them against the common foes of the Texan plains and Floridan swamps. United, they managed to easily fight off the raiders, and managed to found the first permanent settlement on the continent. The resulting growth in knowledge and wealth has been considerable. However, life is not easy. The culture is specifically ingrained to fight and work at everything they do; discipline and honor are important. This is crucial, as it is all that culturally separates them from their immediate neighbors.

Just read the update on my phone, will have to reread it pnce I'm home again.

It was worth the wait, Erez :) and yes, you are mean :p

Edit: btw, the stats show I have 2 temple guard units, which is a horrible generic name and I promise to come with a better one, and a economy of 2. Does this mean that my current economy is just enough to pay their upkeep?

Check the front page for unique units stats ;)

Aha, I missed that.

Did I say you were mean? I meant to say that you're great :p

ME. Claiming the bigger islands of the IRL Bangladesh region.

I realize I will be economically seperated, but the geographical blockades of the Himalayas and the Kush mountains should give me room to expand. :D

Oh, and I was going to claim New Orleans! :p Got beat to the punch

EDIT:
Name/player: Inglias Tri-Archy/Lord_Herobrine
Government:
There are three tribes that have come together from the region to form this city-state. The Galies, Jeules, and the Inglear tribes. The three tribes came together to support a larger, more united culture. The Inglear are the more dominant tribe, and more or less forced the others into the state, but have long since settled their differences and fully integrated. The tribes each have a council of 13 men that can make decision and sent to a second, stronger council that consists of 36 elected councilmen picked from a combinations of all three tribes.

Religion: Polytheism
Age: Bronze
Stability: Stable
Economy: Barter economy that thrives on the trading of raw materials gathered from the river valley.
Projects: N/A
Information:
Was originally formed to protect their trade and economy from other tribes trading the same goods in the region. The Tri-Archy may routinely send out war parties to keep the competition in the region down and to encourage expanding trade routes for their merchants. Much of the military in the Tri-Archy is made up of the Inglear tribe, with several small but more highly trained detachments from the two other tribes. The Tri-Archy uses its armies to back up their trade and allows the merchants to sell at higher prices, as the Tri-Archy puts down tribes that sell their goods for lower.

Two people, and way more, can happily share a location ;) "Happily" of course meaning death and destruction.

As for room to expand. Lol. I'll gladly break that thought into pieces ;) I used to MOD in the past. People left since I kept throwing barbarian hordes at them :p But hey, don't let me stop you. MUHAHAHAHA

Not how it works at all.

1) First you claim an area by acctually doing the stats.
2) It is highly encouraged that you spawn in the same area as other players to make it less of a headache for erez. So feel free to go to the Louisiana area.

EDIT: Gah, ninja'd by Erez

Erez, quick question, could you add the colours to the stats? Would make reading the map/stats much easier :)

History of the Unspeakable King

It all started in prehistoric Yakot. Back then, the relationship between town and country was unknown but presumably more egalitarian. The towns themselves are walled against the wilder Western Nogaia as well as to maintain curfew. The buildings are widely spread, and each house maintained large gardens. True urbanization has not occured yet and cottage industries prevailed over intense specialization.

The Unspeakable King was thought to be a lower class politican, exiled for some reason or another. The result is that his skills led him to, ironically, lead a successful peasant rebellion to take Yakot. After electing himself King, he declared the intent to bring all of Nogaia under his rule.

Allying with the western Nogaia farmers, he swept through the unorganized central plains and towns, taking them before they caught their senses. Only two towns-Fula and Patu- resisted him, with walls rivaling that of Yakot itself.

Meanwhile, refugees crowded into Fula and Patu while government officials crowded into Yakot. This spark led to civilization, which might be the only redeeming factor of the Unspeakable King.

The Unspeakable King was unable to destroy Fula and Patu, and his rage turned into obsession. While the two states established the Suigaia colonies on the Acopendes, which helped feed them during the siege, the Unspeakable Kingdom raised higher and higher taxes on larger and larger armies to try to take the two towns.

Finally and inevitably, the peasants caught their senses and revolted. Turning away from the peasant levies he relied on, he called out the Urban Militia and utterly crushed them, reconquering central Nogaia and turning the survivors into the slavery of Kele. Awarding his more loyal and most successful Militia with the name and title of Tahe, he ruled another decade before being assassinated.

During the succession debacle, the Kele welcomed the militia of Patu and Fula to free them. What they recieved was an further establishment of their enslaved status by the Dega, the Urban Citizens. Unwilling to give any power back to the peasants and thus lose control of their food supply, the Kele became an institution of the Nogaia culture.

From the western coast, the more rebellious Kele spoke again, forming the Fisofi Union. A disorganized confederacy of freed Kele, they are gaining followers by the day, menacing the three cities and their Kele.

Meanwhile, the three cities themselves are growing, urbanizing, and developing. Their future could be bright... if they survive the Fisofin storm, that is.

Words
Nogaia or Darase Island-OTL Taiwan, home of the Nogaia Culture
Acopendes- The Great Mainland, home of the Suigaia Culture
Suigaia-A refugee culture, which preserves some elements of the Nogaia before the reign of the Unspeakable King. However, it also absorbed enough local elements to be nearly alien nowadays.
Fisofi-The Western Coastal Nogaia are strange, but with the cities maintaining the Kele, their quite unique culture soon became the standard of those standing against the current Nogaia status quo
Yakot- Home of the Dread Citadel, former capital of the Unspeakable Kingdom
Fula-Southern City, "City of Pearls", Pearl Farming and Diving to the South
Patu-Central City, "Suigaia Central", Trades the most with Acopenden towns
Kele-The Enslaved Peasants
Dega-The Urban Citizens

Nah, I would rather be a headache:D. Keeps me from being forgotten:p.

Terrance - actually the big blue all over Taiwan is supposed to be the free-peasants state :p.

Spoiler Stats :
Yakot/Terrance888
government: Absolute monarchy
Religion: Polytheism
Age: Bronze
Stability: Unstable
Economy: 2 (0) (0)
Military: (5 units available, 2 trade barges available); 1 Tahe (-1)
Projects:

Some Monarchs of the Third Wave
Queen Kasari-Begun Updating the Walls and the Dread Citadel
Queen Dekasu-Begins sending Tahe to raid the Fisofi Union
King Karos-Known for establishing granaries and a historical record
Queen Farzu-If reached, begins to organizing the Dega, if not, Dekasu does this

GOALS
1) Secure the City and Kele of Yakot
2) Reevaluate the Nogaia Culture

SPENDING
1EP=>Tahe Upkeep
1EP=>Urban Infrastructure: Defenses, Granaries, Harbors, Libraries

DOMESTIC
The Walls and the Dread Citadel were not updated since the days of the Unspeakable King. The city now sprawls beyond the ancient walls and the Dread Citadel isn't as dreadful as it should be. Also, the city's harbors are undeveloped compared to other Nogaia cities and their history is slowly being lost as more and more parents refuse to teach their children about the Unspeakable King.
-A New Wall shall be built to encompass the entire city, as well as a bit more for growth and for secure farmland
-The Dread Citadel shall be updated with more spikes
-The Harbor shall be dredged
-Storage shall be expanded with Warehouses, some will be withheld for the storage of grain during siege
-Libraries and a writing system shall be established, recording both a sensationalized and nationalistic version of the Unspeakable King's reign, as well as a more factual one for the purpose of educating newer monarchs

IN addition, the monarchy is slowly gaining control of the Dega, the Urban Citizens, and their Degate, or Households. We will start by setting quotas, taxes, and other small, annoying but seemingly justified things to prevent a Kele uprising or a Fisofi invasion. Eventually, the Monarch shall be able to control everything possibile in an Ancient Era Dictatorship. Or, that is their idea, at least.
-Use "Justified" controls, using Fisofi threat as an excuse.

Religion shall be organized under Nogaia Dualism, with the Unspeakable King as an Avatar of the children of the two gods, whose name escape me at this moment. Polytheism is still there, but is slowly getting weaker as the two main gods absorb more powers and get more insane/irrational. Yes, I did not mistype. MORE insane, and MORE irrational.
-Religion is centralizing

Note: We still have an elective monarchy, but we have established complete control over it by now.

MILITARY
We have the Tahe for a reason, to defend us and our way of life. With our "Particular Institution" of Kele threatened by the Fisofi, we must show those peasants who's boss. Instead of outright conquest, which we cannot afford, the goal is to keep them outbalanced and rightfully fearful.

The Tahe shall continue to police our nation.

Additionally, they shall gather intelligence through Fisofi merchants (they gotta distribute their goods somehow, and they are NOT communists, hopefully) about concentrations of peasant activists. Whenever such a concentration is found, a lighting march shall go over and smash it, burning the village/town down and taking them back as new Kele. I want a dead zone a day's march, or whatever is appropriate, around the border. We shall have no surprise attacks. Our Kele has no nearby places to escape to. And this show of strength shall keep the nearby Fisofi too disorganized and off balance to organize resistance.
-Raid Organization Centers of the nearby Fisofi
-Keep them too off balanced to attack
-Sell new Kele, or put them in hard labor in our Domestic construction issues
-Crush the hopes of our current Kele

OOC: I consider your Hordes comment a threat. I feel I am pretty well versed in the various attempts to handle hordes. After all, I ran a NES where I am both amused at failed attempts as well as shocked by very insightful orders.

Also, read the last part. I do understand that the Fisofi are a free kele state. I merely stated it organized from the Western Coast, which is rather hilly with small estates and mines, sorta like an Appalachian White Trash analogue.

EDIT: What I mean is that Nogaia culture, pure and simple, sees peasants as enslaved Kele trash. The Fisofin splinter of the Nogaia culture, which survived the Unspeakable Kingdom because of its wierdness, is now upheld as by the Fisofin and the freedom seeking Kele as the true Nogaia culture.

I'm not that experienced with NES's, so at what time would I send orders and how would I send them to you? Haha, trying not to sound like a total newbie. :p

I've been NESing for longer than 8 years and I'm still a noob ;)

Right now you wait for the update to give you your actual state. The update will details some sort of thing you will probably have to deal with (Terrance has other city states, lack of stability, and a huge union of angry peasants, mayor has a city state built right into the middle of his realm, Patchy got rival city states, and a huge horde coming...) you will spend economic points on upkeep of things, and on other stuff (use your imagination! research history for ideas!) and have fun role playing the history of your civilization.

Alright, thanks for the relatively quick feedback. I just have one more question about the stats: Do you send us the statiistics of our nation or do we have to keep track of it ourselves? (Beginning of new turn stats, I mean)
