I would say no, although they might have originated from the same region. Most likely the names are closely linked. This reminds me of the question if the Huns are the same as Hsiung-nu.
As I see it, the Goths (and also the Huns) only became the Goths when they arrived at the borders of the classical western empires.
In the civ game your civilization originates from a fixed spot, your first city. In real world history it is not so clear with migrating peoples.
Although the Goths did live in several areas for long periods of time. They set up cities in those areas, but lack of sources, not lack of settlement, are the cause for the scarcity of cities.
Ok, but my point was that they migrated and not expanded from their first settlement like other "civilizations" such as Rome. So, returning to the original question: are the Geats the same as the Goths?
Maybe they were once one people, but the Goths became the Goths when they "settled" near ancient Greece and by that time they were distinct from the Geats, by location mostly.
QUick question...
If I wanted to download Civ Gold and use his 23 civs as well, is there a way to combine yours and his into one mod?
Just curious as this is REALLY new territory for me.... I've been playing Civ for like 10 years and have never worked with mods before
Thanks!
Played about 4 hours last night with Isreal, and had Ireland right next to me
Both looked fantastic, the music for Ireland was subtle and about perfect... looked through the Civiliopedia, I was really impressed with some of the civs
Overall was really enjoying it, thanks Esnaz
?merging of Diplomacy and Audio
you did a terrible job of editing the leader heads
Generally, people who complain about how bad something is are incapable of doing better and they expect something that is perfect for free. Don't let it bother you esnaz, you did a fine job.
What do you mean by: merging of Diplomacy and Audio?
If you want to combine modular mods, you have to merge/update your Audio and/or Diplomacy XML (and other non-modular parts) one way or the other. I did not mean merging Audio with Diplomacy.
