Espionage

I'm not sure if it's baiting people for info, he's removed his post. If he wanted people to respond he would have kept it up. I'm wondering if removing his post was an attempt to make it look more credible that those are actually their resources.

I expected he'd do that. Leave it up for a day or so, then remove it to make it look as though his team made him took it down. The obvious distinction being that he left it up for a day, whereas if he'd really been so silly as to reveal the actual resources, it would have been retracted within minutes, or a couple of hours at most. He wanted to get attention, so there was no point in removing the post too early. ;)

I'd just ignore it.

I agree with our resident 6000 year old Highlander.

We shouldn't let their plans and plots affect our descisions at the moment.

I feel like BCLG100 is baiting as well, I mean could any be that thick and stubborn that all there is to talk about Warrior movements?

Possibly. Or else he rules his team with an iron fist and has already decided to build a Work Boat or Worker or Warrior or whatever without much discussion. :p

By the way, I checked and CDZ didn't grow to size 2. I'm thus at a bit of a loss as to how they could have researched a tech on turn 5 when they started with both Fishing and Hunting. Even if they started off working a 3 commerce tile, is this even possible?

I was almost going to say they might have popped it from a hut, before i realized just in time huts are off in this game

So yeah, how on earth did they do that?

Edit: assuming they'd need at least 74 beakers for their next tech (mining or mysticism), the only way i can see is working a gold river which gets turned into a gold mine by latest at turn 3. With worker technology available it would even have to be a furs river camp online turn earlier.

It has to be pop, they would have needed 15 beakers per turn to get the quickest tech (mining) and thats means a 4 commerce tile...

Maybe the top 5 cities hasn't updated yet?

EDIT: Changed to 4 commerce tile as I realised they are financial.

They could have a river elephant. Apparently that gives +3 Commerce.

Are you sure? I tested in worldbuilder and it didn't work. The maximum you can get without improvements is a +2 tile.

So it just has to be the pop, or something else. Does the "5 best cities" update before we meet the civs?

It must be a lake water tile then, it has two food and 3 commerce. River Wine also works without improvement for +3 Commerce.

Even that only gives 12 (8 palace + 1 city tile + 2 lake + 1 financial), still 3 short of the needed 15 bpt. It's the same with any other un-improved combination of terrain.

Thats only 14 beakers per turn which falls 4 beakers short of achieving Mining on turn 5.

They can't have got a tech, wonder or land so it must have been pop.
